What's the last Marvel product to have an important/interesting after-credits moment? The Avengers had that stupid shawarma scene, and the less said about the flat joke after Iron Man 3, the better.

I liked both scenes from Avengers and Iron Man 3. They weren't important, but I thought they were fun.

In other news, we have all the character names in the first post!

I hope it's an appearance/plug for the new Thor movie!

I'd actually prefer Chloe Bennet in an skimpy bikini

This seems like a much stronger episode so far.

I have to agree. It's still pretty low rent but at least the script seems tighter and they mostly toned down the annoying scientists.

It was amusing to see Simon's knockout scepter from Serenity.

Still not sold on the show. But at least it seems to have gone up from absolute trash to 90's weekend cheese.

I'd say it's easily more entertaining than the best episode of Revolution last year. Keep it above that level and I'll keep watching.

I'd agree, regarding this particular episode. Keep the show like this (or better) and not like the shitastic pilot and I'd keep watching as well.

The Pilot was shot in January. Series production began in the summer. Sometimes Pilot scripts are rushed to get something filmed for Upfronts. But, after the series is picked up and writers have time to sit together in a writer's room before series production begins and map out something, IMO the quality of the storytelling usually improves.

In a series like this, that's a good argument for constructing the pilot somewhat stand-alone so it could be burned in the middle of a season. That said, I'm glad to see this. It's a show I'd like to watch. Ideally I'd like to see it edge up in quality a bit more and be sort of like my comic book themed Burn Notice.

Re: Marvel's Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D -- "0-8-4" -- 10/01/13

I really, really wanted to love this show. I didn't care for the pilot very much at all and I decided to give it a shot once again. This episode is totally destroying my interest. The only reason I am even trying it again was hoping it would be a step up and then the rumored post credit scene. This show just feels so cheaply made, horrible special effects, bad acting, and I just flat out find myself being bored to tears most of the time. I also hate the references to the movies. It would be one thing if it was all tied together but we know we aren't getting anything movie quality, we aren't getting the superheroes. Reminding us of all of that just lessens the show even more and makes the entire thing feel forced.

Blah, come on, you can do better than this. Surely you can.

My wife, who has never seen any of the movies and is just glancing at it in passing as she studies, commented with the following "Ummm, this show reminds me way too much of the Power Rangers or something with the effects and the sets and the juvenile acting". Heh.

And there it is....

I knew he HAD to be the one to participate. Like I said last week, I was shocked we didn't hear about it sooner.

SLJ is a cool dude. If I were as famous as he was, I hope I'd be as willing to do shit like that.

This series is entertaining, but after tonight's ep. I don't think this belongs on network prime time. This seems like it's clearly aimed at young people, and by that I mean 15 and under. This should be on Disney channel or at least Friday nights when/where that demographic can watch and not matter. As of right now, I will no longer watch this live , and I feel that Coulson and May are the only two characters I care about.

P.S. Nick Fury was awesome, but too little too late.

Given how much the movies are making them, and how they can use a TV show to further push the BO of the films, this show comes off as low rent. It's like WB took over Marvel.

If kids watched TV on Friday like they did during say the TGIF block era, yeah, this could be a good fit. As it is a Tuesday at 8 slot is about as family friendly as it gets. I must say I don't get the CHEAP criticism, but I do sort of get the aimed at a younger crowd one (and don't really mind -- I have plenty of dark shows I can watch).

Re: Marvel's Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D -- "0-8-4" -- 10/01/13

The whole thing felt a bit like S.H.I.E.L.D. 90210, guest starring Agent Coulson and Hot Inscrutable Asian Asskicker. It was light entertainment, enjoyable for what it was but the minute it was over it pretty much evaporated. The SLJ cameo was cute but not much of anything except a cheap reminder of "Hey, remember what universe this is??"

I guess I'm looking for something "meatier" from this series. I'll give it a few more episodes to really click with me, or else I'm out.

And speaking of cliches: now we have the feisty Latina asskicking comandante? In South America?? This is definitely Hollywood
