Re: Official Storage Wars Discussion

For as big of a mess it started as, I much prefer Storage Wars Texas now to the original. I still watch some of the original for Barry and Brandi, but it seems more of a chore to watch than before.

One of the thing's I find laughable is the value they put on some of these items like the crummy washer and dryer or that big ass/old TV...

Re: Official Storage Wars Discussion

If Barry is leaving that would explain the promo for next week's season finale.

And while I would be sad about it, and the fact that his bit this week made up as the old lady was fantastic, its probably a good thing he leaves. The show made him famous and there's no reason for him to not have a spin off of his own. Hell it just has to be about all the cars he shows up in.

Or have him team up with Si from Duck Dynasty. That'll be a hoot.

Re: Official Storage Wars Discussion

The hits just keep coming.

http://radaronline.com/exclusives/20...aught-on-tape/

A Storage Wars cast member hatched a plan to sue the network for more money and walk out if demands weren’t met, and the entire thing was caught on tape, RadarOnline.com has learned exclusively.

The embattled A&E show, which has been rocked by revelations the show is faked by planting valuable items in storage lockers, is now facing a new scandal and Radar has all the details.

Dan Dotson, the show’s main auctioneer, discussed a plan to demand more money, sue the network and even have most of the cast walk out. And his entire plan was caught on tape!

EXCLUSIVE: Dave Hester Sues Storage Wars, Cast Confronted Execs Over Show Being Faked

Dotson discusses a plan to unify the cast during contract negotiations and says, “I really believe that unity is going to be really, really strong. And I can see it’s us all locking arms and telling A&E ‘F*ck off. We’re not going to show up. You think u can make us show up? You’re not going to get anything out of us.’”

Radar has listened to the tape.

The network and the show’s production company is currently being sued by former cast member Dave Hester, who charged lockers are “seeded” and exposed other phony elements of the hit reality show.

Now, Radar has gone behind the scenes and discovered that Hester was not the only cast member at odds with the show.

“I want to know that everybody’s f**kig elbow to elbow,” Dan Dotson says, discussing a plan for cast members to negotiate for more money together.

And when he talks about a cast walk out, Dan says this about the network: “I just don’t think they’re going to want to write all these advertising checks back to people because they’re not going to have a f**king show. Or if they do have a show watching the ratings go down.”

Dotson also says he wants a piece of the profits of the show’s spinoffs. A&E now has Storage Wars franchises in New York and Texas with Florida on the way.

“Here we all are, we made the f**king show and now they’ve copied it, we want part of it,” Dan says. “We’re going to sue you guys for west coast and that one (New York) and …whatever one they come out with.
“And you can stop this lawsuit but you’re going to have to give us this much money and you’re going to have to make us partners on this. That’s the only way.”

He also said: “If we are being represented by the right people and we’ve got the right information and everybody feels strong, then we stand out and we put our finger up to A&E we say ‘f**k you’ about it.”

The show is finishing its fourth season and this conversation took place before the current season. As Radar reported exclusively Dan and his wife Laura were left out of some extra episodes filmed four season four.

Dan’s explosive anti-network works were part of growing discontent by many cast members at the way they were treated by the network. Publicly the cast has remained positive toward A&E but privately, as the tape reveals, there has been a feeling of exploitation and plans hatched to get more money.

Dan always came off as a dick in some of the off-the-cup conversations he had had with others as well as Laura. This isn't surprising. I agree it was the cast that made me watch since most of the show was obviously staged, but at this point just stick a fork in it.

I'd be most interested in a Barry spin-off and any potential "movie" Brandy would do with Vivid Entertainment.

I agree with everything, except a show with Barry. He can die off too. He's interesting because he seems out of place, but he's not that interesting.
Dan is not someone I would be friends with. Thinks he is way bigger than he is from the way he treats everyone besides those he wants to lock elbows with. When he attacked that dude who was supposedly bad mouthing him and then another time he was telling Laura she was basically cramping his style and intruding. She's basically come along and stolen his thunder but he's lucky to have a cougar as she's like an 8 and he's like a 5(no homo)

These people are all way too full of themselves. They could ditch the entire cast, start from scratch, and people would still watch.

Can't say I'm a fan of any of the new people other than Ivy. He seems like a cool guy and generally states the value of things fairly accurately (unlike Balelo's 100K NES...). Jarrod and Brandi are the only two I wouldn't want to see leave. I like Barry but his act is getting old.

Yeah, since Hester left, they've been slowly introducing new characters and rotating the cast around. It lets people get used to the new characters, and lets the original cast know that they're not irreplaceable.

When Barry leaves, don't expect them to replace him in the credits with someone else.

And what a message that would send. It's the concept, not the people.

They better not try that with DD. In that case, people DO relate to the Robertsons.

Re: Official Storage Wars Discussion

I don't believe they can drop the entire cast and it'd be fine for the original show. Losing Barry is a major blow. I haven't warmed up to any of the new bidders, not one. Lose Darryl, Jarrod and Brandi, then you might as well call it quits. It's one thing to start a spinoff in a new town with new faces but it's not going to work for the original show. And, if the original goes down, they'll all go down. I really only watch the other ones as filler in between the regular show. Quite frankly, the cast should just not resign their contracts if they're not happy and start a competing show if they're legally able.

Berry wouldn't be able to as he's friends with the creator of the show itself (which is how he got the gig to begin with).

And Ivy, though he's the most likeable of the new blood, has been way off with a lot of his "pricing". Everybody on the show over estimates.

Re: Official Storage Wars Discussion

From what I can tell of the show's demographic, women were drawn to Barry and men were drawn to Brandi, both for obvious reasons. Losing Barry will hurt the show significantly. Lose Brandi and yeah, they are screwed, because none of the other women brought in as eye candy have come close to supplanting her.

Re: Official Storage Wars Discussion

Why would Darryl join this contingent when they are loading his lockers with free paintings and other swag? I don't see him leaving. Barry looks like like he's having too much fun with the classic vehicles that he gets to drive and other gimmicks. I don't know why he would join either. The other two, Jarrod and Brandi, get to promote their Thrift shops all the time.

Re: Official Storage Wars Discussion

I don't know how reality stars on a show like this would think they're irreplaceable. The could just go Law & Order and end the original and keep the spin-offs running.

This whole episode is a Barry farewell from the start.

Damn, Rene's woman sure is flaunting those boobs. It's almost enough to overlook the butterface. Time for Brandi to step it up.

Other then the 2 gay brothers/boyfriends I like all the new people. As long as they don't have criminals like Hester and Balelo on the show I will continue to watch.

Wow, Jarrod copped to being 38. I thought he was about 5-6 years younger.
