Re: Official Storage Wars Discussion
I wasn't even aware of Storage Wars before a few weeks ago but have recently caught up with most of the original run and its spinoffs. The comments in this thread are interesting but I'm strongly disappointed to hear Barry is leaving.
I strongly prefer the original cast to the NY and Texas versions. The original cast was held together by Barry's antics and a certain camaraderie. The spinoffs hew very closely to formulaic interactions.
The newer cast members on Storage Wars don't work at all. Those two strange brothers are some of the most annoying reality show participants in history.

Well, I'm officially sick of Mary on SW: Texas and her juvenile spasms and screechy voice. Any cuteness to be had is completely overwhelmed by extreme annoyance.
I did like last night's episode where the Hindenbergs (as Victor calls them) found that box with the secret compartment. It screamed of staged/placed products but the idea of that box was very cool. I want one.

I dropped my season passes for Texas and the original. I'm actually still enjoying NYC...that group hasn't gotten overly annoying yet.
I always has to FF through most of Mary's screen time.

That stuff all started when she was made a regular. And yeah it hasn't done wonders for her. And now Victor's been removed from the opening credits, even though he's still on camera. Wonder what that means.

Re: Official Storage Wars Discussion
The new English guy on the Texas version annoys me. As an Englishman myself (albeit one who's lived over here for 20+ years now) the things he says don't mesh with his accent. He says he's from Yorkshire and indeed, has a Yorkshire accent, but he continually uses phrases and Cockney rhyming slang which just aren't things someone from that part of England would say. It's like a native New yorker saying "y'all" constantly.

I thought he was an Aussie but I'll take your word for it since you're a Brit.
There is a difference between confidence and arrogance. Plus, Hester was a major dick about constantly running people up, and Joe doesn't do that.

Loser.
http://radaronline.com/exclusives/20...-fees-lawsuit/
Even though former Storage Wars star Dave Hester was ordered to fork over a whopping $122,000 in legal fees as the result of his lawsuit against the hit show’s network, A&E, he is refusing to satisfy the judgement and RadarOnline.com has exclusively obtained the court documents to prove it.
Filed with the Los Angeles Superior Court on Oct. 16, the defendants replied to Hester’s order prohibiting enforcement of fee award, stating the reality TV star is “playing games.”
“Plaintiff, however, not only has refused to satisfy that Judgment, he asks the Court to block Defendants’ attempts to enforce it, characterizing AETN’s [A&E Television Network] rightful enforcement efforts as ‘gamesmanship,’” the docs state.
“In reality, is it Plaintiff who is playing games, by misinterpreting (and ignoring) the clear law that entitles Defendants to enforce their judgment now. Plaintiff has no valid reason for this Court to intervene in their lawful and proper collection attempts.”
As Radar previously reported, Hester claimed he was fired from the series after alleging the reality show was staged. He sued both the production company, Original Productions, and the cable network that airs the shows, A&E.
The new court docs obtained by Radar state that judgment awarding attorney fees was entered on Aug. 8 and “Plaintiff has had two months to appeal (or pay). He has done neither. There is no justification for a discretionary stay; he should pay the monies owed to Defendants.”
Just days later, Hester responded to the defendants’ opposition and filed his reply with the court on Oct. 22 claiming the defendants have no right to his assets, including the unused portion of any retainer paid by Hester to his attorneys.
“Contrary to what Defendants argue, California law does not plainly provide that court orders awarding attorney’s fees are immediately appealable,” the docs state.
“Since Hester has no right to immediately appeal the attorney’s fee award, it follows that Defendants should have no right to prematurely enforce the award.”
Bottom line, Hester doesn’t want to pay up.
Hester’s high-profile lawyer, Marty Singer, backed down from his initial plan to have the show the subject of a court injunction and told The Hollywood Reporter, “We are looking forward to taking this case to a trial.”

So is Storage Wars pretty much done? Since Barry's gone, I've not interest in watching it any longer but I'm surprised there hasn't been any new episodes in awhile.

They just started filming season 5 at the end of November, no indication on when they'll air yet:

Season 4 ended in July. Prior to this, the gaps between seasons were never more than 3 months.

I've actually discovered Baggage Battles on the Travel Channel in place of Storage Wars. I find the Texas Storage Wars largely unwatchable, though Vic's new protege adds a new wrinkle to the mix.

Baggage Battles was good when they were actually doing the airport auctions. They don't anymore and now it's turned into yet another cartoonish-scripted reality show.

Oh that headline.

GAY A&E STARS NOT SUSPENDED FOR EXPRESSING PREFERENCE FOR 'MAN-A**'
For some in the left-wing media, the goalposts are starting to move in their anti-Christian jihad against everyone who believes in the Bible. For instance, McKay Coppins of the left-wing BuzzFeed tweeted Thursday that he believes the "Duck Dynasty" uproar isn't about what Phil Robertson believes; it is about the "the actual words that he said."
I'm not sure when the left started to get the vapors over blunt sexual expression, but apparently part of the issue here is the rather blunt way the "Duck Dynasty" patriarch expressed his preference for a woman's vagina over a man's anus.
Well, if that kind of thing is wrong, especially when you are an A&E reality star, why haven't A&E reality stars Chris Morelli and Tad Eaton been suspended for expressing the opposite preference in the same explicit way:
An openly gay couple on A&E's "Storage Wars: New York" is NOT offended by the homophobic comments made by fellow A&E'er and "Duck Dynasty" star Phil Robertson -- telling TMZ, they just feel bad for him ... because man ass beats vagina any day of the week.
Chris Morelli and Tad Eaton tell us, "We could give a s**t what he thinks ... [man ass] is tighter."
As we reported, Phil talked about how a vagina is more desirable than a man's anus, and how homosexuality and bestiality are the same sin.
By the way, because they are tolerant grown-ups, Morelli and Eaton are not offended. They did however mischaracterize what Robertson said.
The "Duck Dynasty" star did not say " gay people won't go to heaven." Robertson was talking about several kinds of behaviors that will keep you out of the Heaven, and not just homosexual behavior. Greed, adultery, bestiality, idolatry, and drunkenness were also on his list -- because those are on the Christian Bible's list.
---------------
Now, this is an example of conservative media bias. You'd think the two guys were real nasty toward Phil judging by that quote, right? Wrong.

In fact, Chris and Tad say they're still big fans of Phil: "We like Phil. We like the show. We like the fact that they are very godly. When we watch the show and see them say grace, we feel the same way."
As for Phil's belief that gay people won't go to heaven ... Chris and Tad say simply, "How does [Phil] know that? Is he God?"
