I'm not a lawyer so take my "opinion" with a grain of salt. I would think that the auctions are held on private property so they might be able to tell him he can't come in. I believe a store can tell a customer to leave or never come back etc. so why not at an auction too?

I watched that whole thing going "That's actual reality right there."

And listening to Jeff go "What did I do to make you mad?" as they of course played the clip where he actually said the stuff just had me thinking "Well he's going to regret that one."

If Dave being let go means we miss out on more lines like "That Darrell is so dumb, he puts the 'D' in 'dumb'", then I'm against it.

Two average episodes to start the season. Meh.

I thought they were good, with the exception of Barry going to his mother for the assessment of the statues. Granted, he IS German with a name like Weiss, but her dialogue was TOTALLY scripted. She sounded like any of the other assessors the gang uses in rattling off the features.

But also, that episode was the first one where Barry went through the contents and picked out individual items for their value, as opposed to looking for one big payoff.

Can you explain this more? I haven't watched these yet (waiting for wife to return from a trip to watch together), but the later episodes from last season had Barry going through and pricing a number of items in each locker instead of the one big item. He was also talking of having a crew come pick up the other stuff after taking the item to be assessed.

That's not good for business, though. Dave runs up auctions. Which makes the storage facility money. They can easily keep him around and shoot around him.

As for Dan going after Jeff, good for him. Stupid for Laura to butt in, but Jeff is a fucking prick who needed to be dressed down for a bit.

He didn't say it was the first, but one of the first. He was assessing the value of all the items in the locker, instead of looking for the one gem of a piece. He did that a little more last year, but he was doing it far more in these episodes than in the past.

He said "the first one," not "one of the first".

I had to dvr the episodes and just got done watching them. Did anyone catch the black tape covering the logos on the stickers that were on that toolbox that had no tools?

my mistake. but his point still stands. he's starting to give values of the junk, not just the super exciting items he's looking for.

I did, and I know what you're insinuating. But they've just fuzzed out stuff like logos in the past, so I don't think they went in there, saw logos, and put tape over them.

This show will be nothing without Hester. Too bad they couldn't get it worked out. If they are talking about lower ratings and the show not being a priority now it won't be long until this is cancelled anyway. One less thing to watch.

That new guy (Mark?) had zero personality.

They used the tape last year in some episodes too. It's pretty obvious the producers do it. There's no reason why the original owners would deface their property. They also have used the tape on ballcaps too.

Looks like Hester is now suing A&E, continuing to claim the show is rigged: http://www.radaronline.com/exclusive...awsuit-details

This should be interesting. Dan and Laura's response on twitter:

"We only sell legitimate units on @AETV #storagewars every unit goes thru a 64 day legal process, No one has access to units prior to auction"

Re: Official Storage Wars Discussion

Wow I am shocked to hear about items being planted.

In other suprising news Mel Gibson has proclaimed https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Vb3IMTJjzfo as the greatest song in a film in the last quarter century.

The details from the alleged lawsuit claim that the units are salted after being sold. The producers put their own locks on the units, instead of the bidders, and allegedly sneak in and plant items before the bidders come back and film the unloading of the locker (this suggests that the bidding on the lockers and the unloading of the lockers are filmed on separate days, which is possible).

So even if the items are planted, Dan and Laura aren't involved in it.

Interesting to me was the note that the show is in violation "of the Communications Act of 1934." From what I can tell, the specific section of that act they're referring to relates to "contests of knowledge, skill, or chance":
