Jen's self destruction was glorious. I hated her during her season so this was fantastic.

Jamie is pretty much a bitch. She took the opportunity to get a bye this week. Can't blame her I guess, but let's not pretend why she decided to go. Looks like everyone was well aware of her intentions as well.

Re: Top Chef All Stars

Well, I was a big Jen fan so I'm kind of pissed. Thankfully, they gave away her going home (and the next two chefs eliminated ) in a group shot in the season preview after episode one so I had time to prepare for it b/c I knew it was coming really quickly.

I loved the other chefs reaction to her being eliminated. They clearly viewed her as potential winner material.

Would obviously have rather seen Jamie and her two stitches go home. I never cared for her. I guess Jen could have thrown her under the bus, but she took responsibility for the dish.

Isn't it the next 3 that they gave away, not 2?

I counted 14 chefs left. Maybe I miscounted, but I know three who weren't there, and Jen was one of the them.

Well that was awsome, Top Chef All Stars changed to plain Top Chef on the program guide so the DVR didn't pick it up...

She was definitely one of the best during her season, but was not super consistent. She was capable of brilliance but had a hard time putting out great food week in and week out.

I really do believe that she didn't go home because of her demeanor. I think they decided that her dish was the worst, and then had to pick between her and Jamie. And she said Jamie's absence made no difference. So...

I had no problem with Jen going home. Not that we can taste the food but her dish looked disgusting. Wet "bacon" with chopped eggs on top? Even Casey said the texture was nasty.

Re: Top Chef All Stars

That was an awesome blow-up. About time someone left the show pissed off instead of just shrugging and packing up their knives. Jen was definitely on something though as she was pretty psychotic there.

Jen was totally inconsistent and pretty much was blown out of the water by the brothers and Kevin during her season. She also fell apart towards the end so I didn't think she is a strong competitor anyways. She was always scowling with her sourpuss face and weird eye thing so I am glad she got shown the door.

after seeing his video blog, seems like you're right. He was defending Jen and saying it was the wrong choice even though he did not eat the food.

Good riddance Marble Mouth! I could never stand looking at her face and listening to her talk. Was she on the rag this episode? I hope we say adios to Jamie next. Does she even want to be there?

Aww I loved Jen and was rooting for her. I don't know most of these people (only started watching a few seasons ago) so she was one of my faves. Her dish did look gross though.

Bump for tonight's episode:

"New York's Finest"

Spoiler:
The chefs square off in a relay race that tests their culinary skills, speed and accuracy with a knife. Later, they serve up food fare in four top-notch New York restaurants.

Now that Stephen and Dale are gone, I can go back to not knowing who goes home next.

Go Jen!

Oh...

Fabio thinks he's charming, but he's just fucking annoying. Hope he leaves soon.

Re: Top Chef All Stars

I thought Tiffani was a goner for sure. Fabio has lost the charm he had in the first time he was on.
He also looks a little chunkier.

Was a pretty excellent challenge. And of the 4 restaurants, the one that intrigues me most is WD-50.

Dale's egg dish looked awesome!

Re: Top Chef All Stars

Hah, I got that elimination completely wrong. I thought Tiffany and Fabio were headed home, and instead it was Dale and Stephen. Bummed that Dale lost, I liked him. Stephen I don't care about, but it's nice to see him so much more humble than last time. Fabio looks lost, doesn't look like a very good cook yet.

And I can't wait for Marcel to get sent home, please make it happen soon.

Re: Top Chef All Stars

I was sad about Dale. I expected so much more from him, but the judges were dead on: he had no concept with his dish. See ya Stephen, I'll miss your suits.

Re: Top Chef All Stars

According to Bourdain, Fabio's dish was weird and ill conceived, but still tasted good.
