Just seen Cumberbatch as the "creature" in a cinema screening of the National Theatre/Danny Boyle stage production of Frankenstein.
Very impressive - although probably not what you'd expect if unfamiliar either with the source material or the workings of theatrical performance generally.
And to show they've not missed a trick from the producers of DVDs and Blurays, they even arranged it so that the actors respectively playing Dr Frankenstein and his creation alternated roles on different days which meant you could double-dip/see it twice to experience potentially different interpretations!
Recommended to theatre fans not able to take in the original London show!

Just watched my DVR of the finale and loved it. I hope we get to see more of the actor who played J. Moiarty, he's all kinds of awesome. Love the theories and the one above makes most sense.

Regarding "Elementary", the producer of "Sherlock" says that she was approached by CBS about a U.S. re-make and then heard that they'd come up with (ahem) their own idea for a modernisation of the SH tale. Apparently in their version, as well as Watson being a woman, Mr Holmes has a snazzy mobile/cell phone... Time will tell!

A female Watson? Sexual tension for its own sake is never a good idea. While I liked the female Starbuck in Battlestar Galactica, I didn't care that at times it seemed like they were wanting her to hop in bed with Apollo.

There's a great show currently airing in the UK that I'm watching.
It's called Line of Duty
I would highly recommend people that know how to get that sort of thing get it...
I've seen 4 episodes so far and it's fantastic. It's a police type show, and in episode 1 they reference the wire.
Well worth a d/l - as not sure if it will get aired over here.

Actually, thanks for the heads up on this. I'll check out an episode. I'm always looking for a good BBC show, especially after seeing shows like Luther, Sherlock, and even Spooks and Being Human.

I'll probably give "Elementary" a fair shot. It sounded godawful when I heard about it, and it's a shame they turned their backs on the showrunners of the awesome BBC reboot. Not to mention Ms. Liu as a female Watson sounds like it has huge potential--to be lame as hell. But I like Jonny Lee Miller quite a lot and the previews didn't annoy me like I expected them to. I'm in for a sample, I think.
(Played Sherlock Holmes myself in a stage production back in 2009....)

I wasn't terribly impressed with the episode of "Line of Duty" I saw. Martin Compston's a fine young actor but I don't buy him in that role at all.

Just watched the last episode of season 2. They pretty much spell out how Sherlock survived. He's a timelord that regenerated into the same body. Sherlock doesn't know he is a timelord because he put all his timelord memories into his pocket watch.

Finally started watching this show. I'm really enjoying it but was really let down by Scandal In Belgravia. I really didn't like the writing of Irene Adler. She didn't seem like a worthy challenge for this Holmes and things were just made far too easy (and Holmes made far too stupid) to make it seem as if she were cleverer than he. Hopefully that'll be the only "dog" episode in the series and the last two end things on a high note.
The only other issues I had were with the so-so pilot (the killer basically handed all the asnwers to Holmes and his endgame was rather "blah") and some idiiotic character decisions in The Blind Banker.
Basically, it's a show I enjoy but more for the character interactions than the actual mysteries.

Finally watched the first two episodes of season 1 after hearing a lot about this series (and seeing STID). Good stuff, and I plan to watch the rest this summer.

Here's a rather amusing Comic-Con clip. Cumberbatch must love all of the work he's getting.

I just hope the actual mysteries are good this season. The show excels when it comes to the character interactions but the actual mysteries have been weak.

Except for the carnival sewer people I've liked all the mysteries.
I saw that clip earlier today. Was
hard.

Those were my thoughts regarding Jonathan Creek. Overall I think Sherlock has a far better balance as compared to JC.
