Re: MasterChef -- Season 4 Thread -- Summer 2013 (FOX)

Remember. 2 Hours tonight.

Here's the synopsis:

THE SEARCH BEGINS FOR AMERICA'S BEST HOME COOK ON THE SEASON PREMIERE OF "MASTERCHEF" WEDNESDAY, MAY 22, ON FOX

Award-winning chef Gordon Ramsay, restaurateur Joe Bastianich and acclaimed chef Graham Elliot return to the MASTERCHEF judging panel. After a nationwide search, only the best home cooks - including an archaeologist, a high school gym teacher, a former pro-football player and a firefighter - were flown to Los Angeles for a chance to prepare their signature dishes and present them to the judges. The judges will taste for flavor, creativity and presentation. But most importantly, in order to earn a coveted white apron and move to the next round, the home cooks must have an immense passion for food and be determined to win. Then, the auditions continue as the judges critique the good and the bad and winnow down the competition in the all-new "Auditions #1/Auditions #2" season premiere episode of MASTERCHEF airing Wednesday, May 22 (8:00-10:00 PM ET/PT) on FOX. (MCH-401/402) (TV-14 D, L)

Judges: Gordon Ramsay, Joe Bastianich and Graham Elliot

I'm psyched to watch this as often as I can every week. Only started watching it last season, and loved every minute of it. Based on what I just saw from the people who made it through, this promises to be an interesting season, with a lot of fun and emotion.

It's absolutely amazing to me that all these people from different walks of life across the country, who do everything for a living BUT cook professionally, all get the same shot to do some really incredible, creative things with food, and really dig down deep inside themselves to find out if they have what it takes.

Re: MasterChef -- Season 4 Thread -- Summer 2013 (FOX)

Watched all 2 hours late last night before I went to bed.

Some interesting stuff.

The dark haired Hispanic chick who 1st came out and kept saying how good looking she is was pretty freaking annoying. I can't stand people like that. Although her food looked decent.

at the black lady who's special twist was breast milk in her food.

I totally agreed with Joe about the guy with the 3 daughters. I think a lot of his persona was an act and I don't think he had what it takes. Plus, he was crying way too damn much.

Joe was being his typical snarky self. The guys were pretty tough on the contestants.

The blonde boat stewardess was interesting. I was surprised that Gordon went out and wanted to test her skills in filleting a fish before deciding to keep her or not. Part of me thinks her being attractive and having some ability kept her in there.

No way that Gordon would have remembered that guy Luca at the end. I think he was fed the information by the Producers. Considering how many contestants come and go on these shows, I wouldn't remember peoples names.

The former NFL player who tried out was Eddie Jackson.

http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Eddie_J...rican_football)

Honestly, I've never heard of him. His jerk meat loaf didn't look like anything special.

I enjoyed the episode but there was way too many scripted scenes.

That wasn't the only thing that looked decent. Those missiles of hers were armed and locked on. They definitely played up everything about her looks. They'll keep her around as long as they can.

I sure enjoy the eye candy but I don't like women with attitudes like that. She's clearly the "I can do anything and act super cocky" persona that's been on in every past season.

I thought most dishes looked average, although I do think the ex-NFL player was their "feel good" contestant since they didn't say yes to the San Diego Fires burn victim. He would've been nice to root for. There wasn't anyone in last night's two hours that they focused on I felt the need to really cheer on like I did Christine last year.

I think it's interesting how they're claiming they might cut people because this is such a grueling challenge. Ermmm, look at that list. There was hardly any grit to any of them!

Re: MasterChef -- Season 4 Thread -- Summer 2013 (FOX)

Alright, I fell a few weeks behind, but got caught up.

So far, enjoyable season and I like most of the contestants they cast.

1st of all, I was devastated that Nanci Fillipelli didn't make it 2 weeks ago. If you don't know who she is, check these out:

http://nancifilipelli.com/swimwear.html She would have added so much eye candy to this season.

She got cut in favor of that nerdy looking chick Bri.

I'm shocked that Howard is still in this competition.

2 weeks ago, he got ripped by Joe for that awful langoustine salad and the item went into the trash.

As for last week's episode.

Not surprised that Adrianna was sent home for her cheesecake.

In Hour 2, hmmm, let's see is Gordon going to send him Jessie, the hot blonde or Malcolm for that cupcake challenge? That was kind of a no-brainer, especially since Jessie was Captain of the previous challenge and won it.

Okay and I admit, Natasha is annoying and kind of stuck up, but she is kind of hot. The long dark hair and the really short skirts are nice.

I also like Jessie, but at least she seems smart and isn't so full of herself. I'm picking her as the underdog like Christine last season.

I still like Hell's Kitchen, but I'm several weeks behind on that.

I'm kind of out of Hell's Kitchen but I'm really enjoying Masterchef this year.

Watching the spit fly out of the bald judge while criticizing a meal has put me off eating out for awhile.

Graham Elliott is undergoing surgery today on his stomach for health reasons. He's having 80% of his stomach removed. He's close to 400 pounds and wants to drop the weight.

I'd like to see Graham come back next summer with the same physique as Joe.

I have a feeling we'll be seeing a different looking Graham in season 5.
Your deductive reasoning is uncanny.

Very disappointed with this season. I really loved Masterchef last year because I was fed up with all the fighting and nastiness on Hell`s Kitchen. I enjoyed that Masterchef concentrated on the food challenges and didn`t bother with a lot of silly, contrived drama. This year they seem to be trying to make Masterchef more like Hell`s Kitchen, with that awful Krissy, allowing winners of the food challenege to sabatoge a person they don`t like, and encouraging anomosity between the contestants. The show has taken a huge step down and I am very disappointed.

They always play up the "drama" angle on these shows, and MasterChef has been no exception in the past. They did the same thing last year especially when they threw the curveball to let Josh and the douchebag cook it out to win a spot back in the Top 10.

Also, when Graham came swimming in last week and was on the beach he looked more unhealthy than usual. He needs to lose weight. Good to see he's getting help to do so.

They need to tell Krissy to get the fuck out just on principle. I don't care how good her food would be, I would never step foot in any place I found out she worked. She's a major ****.

Admittedly, I'd only watched the previous season of Masterchef, but I remember those drama elements being very minimal, and no where near as abraisive as they are on Hell's Kitchen. This attempt to have the contestants fighting and bickering has really been increased this season.

Haven't watched any other seasons, mostly because of Hells Kitchen burnout, but started to watch this a few episodes ago and really enjoyed it. I hate shows that having someone eliminated comeback for a second chance, and that is what happened last night with Bri. Oh well.

Surprised there was no one mentioned Krissi's twitter account.

MasterChef contestant accused of racism for tweeting the N-word and a rape joke

She's apologized since, of course.

She's the worst.

Didn't mean to post the article about Graham since it was already posted, but meant to post about Jessie's father being an ex NHL player who was once suspended for 20 games for tripping a linesman.

I watch the show constantly I just don't post about it.

It's the most fitting top 2 from what I've seen on the show.

I'm disappointed that Jesse got eliminated. Would have rather seen her face Luca than that stuck up bitch Natascha.

I would have been happy with either of them facing Luca. I'm not a fan of Nataschia but her food looked good throughout the season.
