Re: MasterChef -- Season 3 Thread -- Mondays/Tuesdays (FOX)
They have not been showing Christine or Felix the last few episodes, which sucks since they are my favorites. I guess that means they are safe and just coasting towards the finals.

Are they not throwing the spotlight on Becky much or does she just have no personality? I was surprised when they mentioned today was her third time winning since I can't remember a thing about her.
At Monty's sneering that Becky, "Wants me out of this competition. She wants everyone out of this competition." Yeah, no shit.

Yes, I was thinking last night when they showed her helper there walking her up with her dish that's the first time we've seen her in about 5 episodes.

They hardly did any Felix or Christine this week, which was surprising. I figure'd they also would've showed Frankie's dish when they brought everyone up to try their food.

I will never understand the constant complaints from contestants of "He/she screwed me! How dare they want me out of this competition!"

Not to mention how they cry when someone is sent home. Didn't they know going in that someone was going to be sent home each time until only 1 was left. They should be happy that they survived to cook another day, not crying that Cowboy Mike was sent back to his horse. It just means they are 1 step closer.

Re: MasterChef -- Season 3 Thread -- Mondays/Tuesdays (FOX)
I felt bad for Cowboy Mike when he was leaving, but then the flashbacks reminded me he was the idiot on the horse in the audition who kept talking about "doing this for my dead sister" and I was thinking Thank God he's gone.

at Joe being the drama queen again and throwing David's dish in the trash.
Just got caught up with Monday and Tuesdays episodes last night.
David or Tali should have actually gotten the boot on Tuesday. Tali was a fucking slob. I guess there really is no rhyme or reason how Gordon, Joe and Graham make their decisions. I'm guessing that David's superior performance on the Tortellini was a factor that kept him in. Cowboy Mike forgetting how to make a Pizza and not utlilizing the Pizza stone to it's fullest got him the axe.
And yeah I also noticed that Christine and Felix weren't really shown cooking in the last 2 episodes.
I kind of felt bad for Anna getting axed on Mondays episode. She seems to have a good head on her shoulders and had potential. When she forgot to get her broth at a full boil, that screwed her. I was surprised to see that she's only 28. Her husband must be alot older than her judging by his apperance in the audition round.

Bump
Don't forget gentlemen, another new episode tonight.
The remaining nine amateur cooks are faced with one of the most intimidating mystery box ingredients to date "uni," otherwise known as sea urchin. In a surprising twist, the contestants must incorporate the spiky culinary delicacy into their creations, and the amateur cook who presents the most exceptional uni dish will earn a significant advantage in the next round. Later in the elimination challenge, the winner of the mystery box challenge will assign each of the remaining contestants one of eight different types of fish. Find who will impress the judges and whose culinary dreams will sink in the all-new "Top Nine Compete" episode of MASTERCHEF airing Monday, July 9 (9:00-10:00 PM ET/PT) on FOX. (MCH-311) (TV-14 L)

Anyone notice they aren't showing Josh's dish during elimination challenges? This is the episode in a row that he was ignored.

Well, Felix really fucked that up, didn't she?
I wonder what was up with Christine's dish being so generic and lazy. Putting her in the bottom 3, and the comments they made, should be a good reminder that she can't skate by simply because she has a disadvantage.
Tali is gone and it's about fucking time. That guy was so incredibly delusional about his abilities.

I'm glad Tali is gone mostly because he was straining my credulity. I know these shows ask leading questions in the interviews to try and get desired responses, but week after week I was getting the impression even Tali didn't believe any of the crap coming out of his mouth, he was purposefuly acting like a goofball for attention.
However, I was mesmerized on how much he looks like Peter Campbell on Mad Men. Tali could be idiot grandson.

Just watched Monday's episode. All I will say is that I'm glad that asshole Tali is gone. He was such an arrogant prick and so full of himself.
Glad that Gordon and Joe saw through his act. What a piece of shit.
Monti is kind of an oddball, but she's surprising me.
I think right now the favorites are clearly Becky or Frank. Christine, although I really like her, has her work cut out for her especially after screwing up the Salmon.
and yeah I was surprised that they ignored Josh's sardines dish.

Was this not on Tuesday? My DVR recorded a show Tuesday evening but it was Monday's episode again.

Re: MasterChef -- Season 3 Thread -- Mondays/Tuesdays (FOX)
Next week promises a "heart-breaking" elimination, -I tend to think it has to be Christine or maybe Monti, -I can't imagine who else would constitute a "heartbreak". However, my DVR entry for the following Monday says that some former contestants fight for a second chance, so then the "heartbreaker" could possibly get back in.

I am so relieved Tali is gone. It's hard to tell if he was acting or not with the things he was saying about himself. Most of his dishes have looked like garbage and he was consistently mediocre. I loved it when Joe called him out on using big words to try and make his crappy dishes sound more sophisticated.

Saw Mondays episode last night.
Pretty embarrassing that the Red Team didn't have enough Sweet Potato mash for those cowboys.
Too bad for Josh. I liked the guy and he had a good work ethic. But, he was the obvious choice after screwing 2 of the eggs in the pressure test.
Even though noone really likes Monti, she seems to be hanging in there and doing well under pressure.

Re: MasterChef -- Season 3 Thread -- Mondays/Tuesdays (FOX)
And now no more Stacey. She was at a real disadvantage in that Christine couldn't help her with the sushi. Frank should have paired Becky with Christine if he wanted Becky gone or maybe Christine goes. But then would have Stacey and David done any better than David and Becky, they were lost.
Monti fixing a blackberry dessert? She should have known that wouldn't get her in the top 3. While I have little faith in David I'd like to have the recipe for his red pepper grits. I eat grits a couple times a month and that looked good.

I loved the egg challenge, thought that was perfect, seeing what they could do with one lone item, not being able to rely on extras or creativity, just technique.
I find that on Masterchef I'm genuinely sad to see people go, unlike another cooking show running the same night.
