What is everybody's obsession with pointing out the fact that they had (posted) a certain theory first? Are you worried someone else will get credit, or do you think they stole your idea? It's getting quite tiresome, and it's entirely possible for more than one person to have a similar theory. Also, not everybody has time to read ten-plus pages of crap and remember who said what.

That kid has got to be Aaron right? Or maybe Walt.

One thing I'm not sure if it's been mentioned yet ; Everyone's alternate NC life has drastically changed except for Kate. She's still a fugitive and was in handcuffs by that bounty hunter guy. Wonder why her life hasn't been altered?

What about Claire? She's still stuck with Aaron, though he's in her gut.

I don't know if this is considered a spoiler since they haven't mentioned it on the show, but at last year's comic con they showed a few videos that highlighted some of the differences in the timelines:

She did say she was innocent though.

I thought Sayid's 'What happened?' last week was a pretty good cliffhanger, but this episode was so strong I just realized there was none of that storyline.

That was actually two weeks ago, last week's cliffhanger was that Claire is "alive" and running around the island shooting people.

Not that they even mentioned that either, but it was such a great episode I didn't notice until later and didn't mind.

Sawyer isn't stupid. I'm waiting for him to pull the big con and screw over Flocke.

This alternative reality is totally screwy. Despite being "normal" I was entirely creeped out by Ben as a teacher. After his platitude on tea, I was expecting him to get John fired.

Were there numbers next to any of the other names that were crossed out? It could give a better idea of numbers for the amount that have come through before as "candidates".

Re: Lost: The Final Season -- "The Substitute" -- 02/16/10

Maybe the thing that's different in the alternate timeline is that Jacob never visited the "candidates" earlier in their lives.

Aaron as a three year old being the kid just doesn't work. My thought is that there is a third entity/person on the island and this is the first encounter with him.

"Lost" makes me think of "Babylon 5":

(Babylon 5 spoilers)
Spoiler:
In Babylon 5 there were two races of god-like, ancient aliens, the Vorlons and the Shadows. For the first three years of the series it was always assumed by the characters and the viewers that the Vorlons were benevolent, but as time went on, it was revealed that the Vorlons and Shadows represented two opposite ideological extremes, and that the younger races were being dragged into their ancient conflict.

Watching "Lost," we sort of assume that Jacob is the "good" guy, but when you examine the context of his Black Rock conversation with MIB...

"It always ends the same."
"It only ends once, everything that happens before that is just progress."

It sounds like Jacob is just using people to prove some kind of point, and that he doesn't really care what happens to them.

The show will end with Frogurt as the new MIB and the polar bear as the new Jacob.

Please no new MIB and Jacob. I want to see this issue resolved and not just the characters replaced.

It's obvious Arzt will be the new Jacob.

When Locke was rolling through the school hall looking for the lounge, did anyone else think it was supposed to be Walt that he grabbed for directions?

I think the show will end with Locke back in L.A. walking down the isle with Helen, in marriage...wait for it...with Smokey as his best man (but he keeps dropping the ring!). The ceremony ends and the couple kiss. The crowd cheers! Smokey reacts and goes on a killing rampage. That darn Smokey.

Coming this fall to NBC. (pending Jay Leno's schedule)

I agree. And I don't see the show ending that way. I think that's what we are supposed to be thinking right now, but in actuality these Lost-characters are going to be the ones to break this cycle and put an end to the debate over whether or not humanity is good or evil.

Now how's this for weird theorizing: what if Kate isn't on the list as a "Candidate" because she's already been chosen by Jacob to be his "replacement" of sorts. And so she is Eve, and Flocke is Adam... how that works out, I have no idea. But it's a fun idea anyway.

We get Hurley's numbers.

Plus, Kate is missing from the list, but if I remember correctly, Jacob never touched her.

My wife said only men's names were on the wall, assuming Kwon is Jin and not Sun.
