I dunno, but it was flying way up in the air. Why can't it just go up and over the sonar fence?

Also, it was "flashing". Is this referencing it actually flashing from one location to another, or are there multiple "tendrils" of the smoke monster in multiple places at one time? Or, was it just supposed to be a kind of montage?

Miles' dad was Pierre Chang, so the "Straume" listed couldn't be referring to him.

I guess I just assumed it to be him travelling to different areas more than a situation of him being in multiple places at once.

I think the Smoke Monster is grounded in a way. He can go up in the front but part of him must remain on or close to the ground.

I'm trying to think of any of the Smoke Monster's victims who weren't "bad" people. It killed the pilot in the first episode and Ecko (which we know he was technically a bad man) but it didn't go around killing just anyone. I'm willing to bet the L&C didn't have the Smoke Monster completely flushed out in the first two seasons either.

My guess is that the MiB is the good guy and Jacob is bad simply because he did manipulate people to the island. He probably manipulated the Black Rock there too -- it just hapened to be an 1830 version of the plane crash.

Dogen did imply to Jack last week that Jacob is the reason why everybody is on the island.

I'm curious if Dharma was part of his plan, or if they just happen to find the island on their own.

I'm thinking Dharma were just more "candidates". Someone working on the mainland was probably getting lists to people to recruit into the initiative.

I think it should be pretty obvious by now that they are from the Planet Zeist, and there can be only one.

Is this a flash forward to what Lindsay Lohan will look like in 6 months?

I'm not one to really make predictions, however, it seems to me like Jacob is the one who is trapped on the island. It seems as though he keeps trapping people on the island with him just so he doesnt have to be alone. Maybe MiB was just the first.

I feel like the whispers we heard so much in season 1 & 2 might have been jacob (omnipotent almost), and maybe MiB was limited to being the smoke monster.

Just throwing some thoughts out there.

But we've already seen Jacob (at least in some form) off the island at will...

Watch out folks, The Lost police is back on patrol -- keep your theories on your person at all times and make sure they're within a certain unspecified range of reason.

My prediction is the kid is Aaron. Remember that Eloise Hawking said everyone had to return, even him? Somehow his not being there is unravelling things.
