I'm just saying, that's why I'd do if I had my own talk show. Would you watch a show like that?

I mean seriously, how F'n great is this guy. Every time I watch this I smile.

I literally cannot understand how people can watch Dave or Leno or any of the other late shows. Besides all of the hosts being so empty and boring, they just aren't funny. I guess some people just don't "get" Ferguson, but that is their loss.

I completely agree. Craig's the best right now. But do you remember Dave back when he was on late? Monkey cam, the episode turning in a full circle during the hour, Dave in a bowl of milk, the velcro suit, etc.

Dave's 63 now and competing with Leno, who's won over the years with humor that is the polar opposite of what Craig does.

I'd love to see Craig's style succeed at 11:30pm (10:30 here), but I really don't think it can.

I wonder if each night they'll give the robot different phrases, since last night there were 2 references to Mindy Kailing. Also loved hearing the robot getting to say 'its time to check ze tweets craig"

I'm wondering if they just have some guy off camera speaking for the robot.

it sounds like Craig through a voice processor. On monday, when Grant was there, he mentioned there's a little remote control for the robot

Yeah I agree. It's Craig with voice processing. I'm guessing they can record lines in and play them off of the remote unit. Just like Craig's old "360" or "Instant Replay" that used to play his Whip sounds. An "Instant Replay" is a unit used in Radio for playing sounds.

Since no one mentioned it, I thought I'd add that I really enjoyed the Anna Torv interview from a few nights (weeks) ago.

While I'm thinking about it, did anyone else notice an obvious edit during the Raquel Welch segment? It was during the part when she was discussing her book. I don't remember now what the specifics were, but the camera angle changed to a close-up of her looking off to her right and the tone and momentum of her voice were obviously different before and after the cut.

I figured her interview must have run long. They had already bumped Anna Torv once, and they needed to get her appearance on the show that night.

Anna Torv is so good in interviews. She seems shy and it's so cute.

Geoff Peterson is cracking me up so far...

<object style="height: 344px; width: 425px"><param name="movie" value="http://www.youtube.com/v/NuMbdPfCrFg"><param name="allowFullScreen" value="true"><param name="allowScriptAccess" value="always"><embed src="http://www.youtube.com/v/NuMbdPfCrFg" type="application/x-shockwave-flash" allowfullscreen="true" allowScriptAccess="always" width="425" height="344"></object>

He and Craig have great chemistry.

What kills me about Geoff is that he's so loud and annoying that it's strangely funny to watch Craig react to him.

They should continue to tinker with his phrases, but "Oh, no!" and "Oh, yeah!" are definitely keepers.

The thing is that when she was bumped, he said that she would be on Friday's show, and it turned out that she was on Thursdays show (I think). Just found it odd. Just read that she and Mark Valley are getting divorced as well.

Re: The Craig Ferguson Appreciation Thread

So far, I'm not a super huge fan of Geoff Peterson. I like that it's Craig's voice; just adds some humor, for some reason. But, as previously mentioned, I feel like there was too much hype to live up to for poor Geoff.

Craig is definitely doing his best, saving the bits with his reaction to whatever Geoff says.

Last night's MCD bloopers while doing the JLH reading were good. Lots of good interviews this week, but so awesome to have Kristin Bell back.

Between that and Betty White, last was the best of the week IMO. (Although, shame on CBS for spoiling White's unannounced drop-in--and the best moment of the segment--by using it in the lead-in commercial.)

Re: The Craig Ferguson Appreciation Thread

Since this is the Craig Ferguson Appreciation Thread, I thought I'd come here to express my appreciation for something!

Craig had Ellie Kemper (the new secretary on The Office) on, tonight. She was very nervous and even went so far as to tell him it was her first talk show. Most talk show hosts would get annoyed, make jokes at her expense, or both. But Craig went out of his way to put her at ease and the interview actually went very well. He took what would normally have been an awkward interview and turned it into a great one.
