Re: The Craig Ferguson Appreciation Thread
For Craig fans I would recommend checking out "The Big Tease" and "I'll Be There." He wrote and was the star in both (also directing the latter) and both are not that bad. The latter is a bit sappy, but well intentioned.
He's been in other stuff as well, including another film, "Saving Grace" that he also wrote, starred, and directed, but I haven't seen anything aside from these two.

I've only seen "Saving Grace" and I thought is pretty good. I LOVE me some Brenda Blethyn.

I watched the show through most of it's run, but haven't seen it since. I figured I'd watch a few seasons. I don't think YouTube can help me with that.
I don't recall disliking his character.

Gaaawd DAMN Brooke Shields is HOT. I mean she was always beautiful, but she's one who looks better with age. She's a nice size, she's tall, and just amazing.
My man George Wallace brought the funny!

Loved the George Wallace interview; wish it could have been longer. The George Takei voice they've given Geoff is hilarious. And I also loved the Emily Mortimer interview the other day...

I always cringe when see actresses walk up those stairs. I wonder if they have any bloopers of actresses falling.

Is it just me or is Craig talking about the guests movies/tv shows more often lately? For instance, I didn't care for the Brooke Sheilds interview b/c I don't give a crap about her movie. I wonder if CBS said something.
I agree with Fist of Doom though. I loved the Emily Mortimer interview earlier this week.

The sheer ridiculousness of this never fails to crack me up:

I haven't noticed it as any kind of trend or anything. He spent as much time discussing Lipstick Jungle--which he was on-record as enjoying all along--as he did anything else in the Brooke Shields interview. For that matter, I think they spent more time discussing Geoff than anything else. I can't think of any other interviews lately where the guest's current project was particularly dominant, either.

I don't know where you guys stand on Twitter, but I've got a list going for The Late Late Show. It obviously includes Craig Ferguson, as well as his agent (Rebecca Tucker, who posts updates on his touring schedule), his sister Lynne (writer for the show) and a handful of notable guests (Kristen Bell, Carrie Fisher, Stephen Fry, etc.). I don't even think you have to have a Twitter account to view the page, so if you find yourself needing a vicarious LLS fix, here it is.
Also, Grant Imahara posted a link to this downloadable, printable Cubeecraft version of Geoff Peterson. Not sure if I'll actually print it or not, but I made damn sure to save it to my hard drive in case I get the urge (spoiler'd for size):

Wow! Craig's interview with Kate Mara last night was pretty epic. Hilarious. Uncomfortable (but staged?). All over the map. I don't know if she played that or if they just have a great rapport/ebb and flow or she's just that out there, but I found it pretty funny.
I've never seen her on the show before, but tomorrow, if I have time before the Pens game, I'm curious to check out her other appearances on the show and see what they were like or if this one broke new ground for them.
(Obviously not up on youtube yet or I'd post a link. Sorry.)

Morgan Freeman was great. Loved his fake anger towards Craig for some of his sillier questions.
Kate Mara. Either it was extremely awkward or pure brilliance. She's pretty quick.
I think it had something to do with the fact that she was there to promote Iron Man 2, in which she has one 30-second scene, and that's it.

Interviews like that show you how special the Scottish Conan guy is -- on any other talk show (at this point in her career), Kate Mara is the pretty filler guest who tells a three-minute story. Here, her segment was the best thing I've seen on TV in the past week or so.

I wasn't really into either the Mara or the Freeman interview. Mara was definitely on something, or pretending to be, and I thought that it really took away from the interview.

No matter how beautiful the woman, I rarely, if ever, get worked up over some silly appearance on a talk show. I enjoy looking, but that's it. However, that Kate Mara interview was actually hot. If Craig wasn't married, I absolutely would hope that he'd give her a snake cup all night long.

The awkward pause never gets old
also liked that he had to bring up the tattoo she has (and he explained the origin of his tat that goes all the way to his pee pee.)
He's also letting Scarlett's canadian friend help close the show.

Oooh ok. Now I remember her. She was the older daughter from Brokeback Mountain. Doesn't her family own the NY Giants or some team?
