You answered your own question.

People tuning in shouldn't expect to see a lesson in preparing fine dining. The show is an excuse to watch Gordon Ramsay be Gordon Ramsay. The guy is simply entertaining on any number of levels. The contestants are simply necessary fodder for the show.

Exactly. I couldn't care less about any of the "chefs". Gordon is the only reason I watch and I love it.

Gordon is the reason I watch it. He's brilliant.

I must say I was glad to see Rosann didn't go home. Once you look past the annoying voice and throw some mascara on her face, she'd look good enough to eat.

And why the hell is Matt still on???? I can't stand him. He's so big and annoying..

I actually preferred Gordon Ramsay in his show called "Ramsay's Kitchen Nightmare", he has many great lines there. Hell's Kitchen is just OK, but still fun to watch Ramsay yelling at those guys.

It's gonna be interesting see how Matt fares on women's side. I'm sure women would vote him out.

Ha.. no surprise here. Looks like Matt took his wife's last name?

Hey, I applaud that. Why not? Sets him apart from the egomaniacs on that show.

The egomaniacs are what make the show interesting.

Matt's just fat and annoying. Hearing him speak sets my teeth on edge.

Matt seems like an angrier version of Randy from My Name Is Earl.

I just looked at the Hell's Kitchen site to get some previews of the upcoming episode, and I noticed that they're coming out with a Hell's Kitchen video game. Maybe this has been discussed before, but it was the first I'd heard of it:

Wow. Gordon was in a really pissy mood tonight. I love it.

I hate Matt with a passion, but it was great to see Ben get what he deserved. As long as Jenn is the next to go I'll be happy.

I see it coming down to Petrozza, Bobby and Cory, with Bobby coming out on top.

I'll bet you anything that it's a "Cooking Mama" rip-off.

As for the last episode, it was interesting to learn that electricians dig ditches. I had no idea that was part of the job description.

I hope either Matt or Bobby wins. Cory is hot, but she seems to be slipping under the radar lately. Maybe she'll win because of that, though.

"Jerk!"

I'm glad Gordon got rid of Ben.

SPOILER!

They accidentally showed which chef will be switching from the red team to the blue team next week during the preview for next week's episode. There was a shot for about .3 seconds of the teams lined up in the kitchen (I went back and paused it on DVR) and there in plain sight on the blue team was...

Spoiler:
Jen

What ever happened to the preview they had 2 or 3 weeks ago where they showed someone coming back?

That was a misleading tease that turned out to be Matt switching teams.

Next week's teaser:

Next week on Hell's Kitchen: someone will DIE!

(a little inside when Ramsey yells at them)

I did the exact same thing! Pretty sloppy editing, but my curiousity took over, so I had to work the DVR magic.

Next week's preview just looked gross. So someone loses a fingertip in the pancetta? YUCK!

Ben was an asshole. Good riddance. He didn't know shit about cooking. That he made it that far was a miracle. Matt needs to just shut the hell up and fly under the radar instead of mouthing off like he was this episode. Jen got all pouty after Ramsey yelled at her, but he was right. She's an uppity bitch. She said "blah, blah, blah when I PRETEND to be so-and-so he yells at me!" Well bitch, you ARE pretending, and he called you on it. Truth is you AREN'T all that and a bag of chips. She is so going next...

Pretty so-so episode. Gordon was pissed, but that usually goes without saying. Nothing particularly hilarious went down. Glad to see Ben go. That guy was a total tool. There's a sleeper hiding in here that's going to win. Could be Christina. Could be Petrozza, but I doubt it. Something tells me a chick is winning this season.

I'm thinking Corey or LouRoss (I don't know what he can really do because they haven't shown much of him so far).

Man what a great episode. I love how at the end Matt said "I'm humble".. yeah fucking right. He wouldn't shut up the whole episode without snickering and making snide comments when Ben kept messing up.

Jenn's annoying.. she needs to go. Matt needs to go. Petrozza, Lou Ross, Booby, and Corey need to duke it out for the top IMO.

I'm going to go batshit crazy if Jen does not go next. I'm so glad Ramsey called her out and it was hilarious to see her tuck her tail between her legs when Ramsey tore her a new one.

All I know, after discovering Top Chef last season, this show is damn near unwatchable.
