It was an enjoyable finale. I was happy to see Christina win. I'm not surprised to hear that she actually only won a Sous Chef position and the whole "Executive Chef" thing was only for show purposes. Hell, Chef Scott, Chef Maryanne and Gloria from this season have been Gordon's Sous Chef's for a very long time now and are probably ten times more qualified to run the London West Hollywood. I guess she essentially won a position that could grow into an Executive Chef job. It's actually not a bad prize for a culinary student from Missouri.....she gets to move to LA as well.

Jen had some nerve to ask Gordon for a reference. Such a bitch!

I thought it was interesting that Christina looks almost exactly like her Mom.

I always love Gordon's tag line at the end of the season..."Time to get the fuck out of Hell's Kitchen."

I'm wrestling with my decision wheither I should reserve at the West Hollywood at end of July for my date's birthday. Only problems I have are distance and time.

Where do you get she won a sous chef position? Ramsey kept saying executive chef throughout the show.

Ramsey said Chrisitina won 9 challenges (the most anyone has won) so she deserved to win. I think a few of those were group wins but still.o

Boy, they make a big deal out of this. So Ramsey hires a new cook...

The correct spelling is Ramsay.

He did mentioned sous chef position in his office front of Petrozza and Christina.

TV chef Gordon Ramsay opens new restaurant in West Hollywood

Ramsay will soon welcome another person in the kitchen of the new restaurant: the winner of the fourth season of "Hell's Kitchen." The champion will be offered a job as senior sous-chef at Gordon Ramsay at The London West Hollywood with a $250,000 salary. The season finale is scheduled to air July 8.

I was rooting for Petrozza.

But, long-term, I do understand Christina.

That's why the show is a bit of the bell end...doesn't matter who's technically better, still Gordon's choice.

No way should he have won, he was 2nd best all season if that....I agree totally with the end. Plus she looks good getting dressed.

I want a Christina sandwhich.

Seriously, while I was watching him I was thinking is he on some kind of drugs? The dude is just whacked. Would YOU hire someone who looks to be a lunatic to work in your kitchen and be around fire and sharp objects after seeing that?!

Jen, Jen, Jen. A raving stupid bitch even to the bitter end. As if she couldn't dig a deeper hole for herself, who'd hire her after seeing her on this show and having the gaul to ask Ramsay for a reference. What a stain.

Now Corey and LouRoss on the other hand - props to them! They came in and played like team players and did so gladly and supportively. Their attitudes and behaviors were exceptional. Kudos to them!

It's ALWAYS a sous-chef position, which is still a very good job at a Gordon Ramsay restaurant. Remember in the second to last episode when Chef Ramsay brought in the executive chefs from all of his restaurants to judge the challenge? Were any of them former Hell's Kitchen winners? Of course not! Those were the real executive chefs, the former contestants work for them.

The $250,000 is also deliberately misleading. In the episode where 6 chefs remain and they show them the suitcases and say, "One of you will win $250,000", that is not really true. They come back to earth a bit in the last two episodes when Ramsay says, "You will win a position worth $250,000". They are NOT getting a single fat paycheck, there is no need for that, people will audition for and watch the show without that. They are getting something like a 4-year contract to work as a sous chef at a salary of $50,000 per year, plus benefits which they calculate to be worth another $50,000 over 4 years thus $250,000. And the contract is probably terminable by the employer at any time.

It's a weak prize compared to the bigtime reality shows, but it IS a good prize...especially for a culinary student from Missouri. After working as a sous chef at a Ramsay Restaurant for a couple of years the door is wide open to get other gigs in hospitality. But remember guys, this is reality TV, they can spin things any way they want. You have to take everything with a grain of salt, especially the risotto!

^Yeah but they emphasized that the position was that of an executive chef this season. It's a load of crap for them to then make them a sous chef. I didn't think they were just going to win the money BUT I did think they (Christina) would get it as an annual salary. Instead, it's spread over 4 years? If all that is true, it's nothing to really get excited about unless you're the person really wanting to work for Ramsay. I don't know why I should expect FOX or the producers about honesty with regards to Hell's Kitchen.

If Ramsay was screaming at me too, I'd probably start smoking.

That's true, they ALL smoked, every last one! Also funny was how willing the producers were to show them smoking all the time. I mean, you NEVER see anyone smoking on TV anymore, that's like SO 1950's! I guess that's their way of giving the show some edge or something.

So last night my parents took me out to Gordon Ramsay at The London in West Hollywood for dinner. It is a seriously nice restaurant. I spoke to the bartender and she told me that Christina would be coming in this week to start work as the executive sous chef. All of the food we ordered was incredible. I had a 7 course chef's tasting menu and it was really impressive. Sushi, Kobe beef, scallops, fresh mozzarella, Scottish seabass, desserts... everything was wonderful. Afterwards they gave me a tour of the kitchen and, let me tell you this, Gordon is no hypocrite on Kitchen Nightmares. The place was so immaculate you could have eaten off the floor. Total bill for 3 people (w/ wine) was $333, but it was worth every penny.

I've looked at the menus at Gordon's other places and I was surprised at the pricing. Obviously it's more expensive than a "typical" restaurant, but there are many many other places out there with MUCH higher prices. I'm sure Gordon could get away with charging a lot more.
