Next week looks interesting. I was watching the preview in Slow-motion to see what was flashing and I guess we learn about:

Spoiler:
Roger the skelton. During the slow-motion "Roger work man" appeared for a split second. Maybe we will learn where he was heading with the beer.

I just assumed it was a temporary move, while Juliette infiltrated. I think they'll return after their surprise attack.

And I thought this episode, like the last 4 or 5, was great; slowly revealing instead of meandering.

yes it was a tmeporary move because Ben told Juliette that theyd be back in a week...
question im asking is what was the point of the move.

Gotta agree.

When she was telling them that the plane was found with bodies on board I was reminded of when that Jet Liner was shot down in the 80's. One of the conspiracy theories was that a crash was staged with fake wreckage and pre-dead corpses.

I'm not surprised that Said didn't recognize the technology in the phone. He's been out of the military for at least 5 or 6 years, even then I'm sure Iraq wasn't exactly "cutting edge".

Amazing episode. Sure, a lot of us could see the Cooper/Sawyer angle coming a mile off, but the way it was handled couldn't really have been done better. Josh Hollaway was phenomenal in this episode - his Emmy submission tape for sure (considering he won't be having any more flashback episodes this season). I loved Locke walking into the jungle, alone, at the end. It'll be interesting to see what happens next with him -- he's absolutely one of my favourite characters.

Even though Jack/Juliet are now obviously in cahoots, I still think they are working against the Others. It looks suspicious now but whatever they're up to, it's for the good of the 815ers.

I was thinking it was to make it seem like they abandoned Juliette; like they left for good. That way, the Losties would sympathize with Juliette more (and not expect an attack).

I was under the impression that they all went out on the trek there to see if Locke would kill his father (attaching him to that cylindrical post). It was a test. We'll see how Ben reacts when he returns with the body. It'd be great if Cooper wasn't really dead yet and Locke actually had to finish him off on the way back ("I'm not dead yet"). :)

I am very impressed with the general direction this show is going. It's going to make the summer/fall hiatus a very painful thing once again.

hardercore 05-03-07 03:56 AM

For all the talk of LOST/Heroes comparisons you have to give to LOST in one department - the acting on this show blows that on Heroes out the water.

hardercore 05-03-07 04:03 AM

One thing they didn't cover that I wanted to know - what, and why, would Locke make a case for Kate to go with them. Ben was only interested in taking Locke, what would Kate have to do with it? and why only her, not Jack or Sayid?

Yep, exactly. Great episode.

My theory is that they are at the South Pole, at the entrance to the Earth's core. (see Hollow Earth Theory.)
It's one possible explanation that could make sense.

Except it doesn't explain how Desmond or the helicopter pilot got there with out noticing all the ice.

Which is why I stopped watching Heroes after the fourth or fifth episode - I liked the premise, but couldn't stomach the execution.

With Lost, I'm not sure what the premise is, but I love how good the show can be anyways.

the way Locke was holding the body, with the head next to his, i was expecting it to twitch or something.

Please re-watch the last three minutes of the Season Two finale and come back here and tell me what you see.

Agreed. The first 45 minutes were painfully predictable. The only thing that surprised me was Sawyer actually going through with the kill, and Locke swiping the tape recorder to give to Sawyer. In the end it was good to have confirmation of a few things.

I did like Cooper referring to the island as hell. Definitely Carlton and Damon fucking with the fans.

kaze0 05-03-07 06:28 AM

Is Cyndi now most likely an other who was working for the airline for some reason? Or did we ever have any confirmation that she was just taken and "turned."

Great episode. Shades of season 1 level of great.

I thought he said that he'd see her in a week. I took that to mean that the attack would reunite them in a weeks time. Since the episodes seem to be 2-3 days apart, that would put the season finale at around a week after that talk.

If the freighter is only 80 miles off the island, than it is certainly close enough to get to, right? And she gave a heading (west), so they even know which way to go.

spainlinx0 05-03-07 08:27 AM

I enjoyed the episode even though it was obvious it wasn't Ben he wanted Sawyer to kill.

Actually more than anything this episode made me realize that I now not only find Kate annoying, but Jack as well. I enjoyed every scene with the other characters, but when he asked to come along on the next camping trip I just wanted Charlie to punch the killjoy in the face. It was so great to not have an episode revolve around him again that I didn't even want him in there for any significant amount of time whatsoever.

I'm really enjoying the camping trip group, and wish they would focus more on Desmond and that crew as the show moves forward.
