Oh, I'm super-efficient. I just work better closer to the deadline.

This is what I think will happen with Jack come the season 5 finale

Spoiler:
Jack becomes a martyr for the island. Either he sacrifices himself(death) so his beachmates can leave or he stays behind to become the new leader of the Others (Dharma) and lives there forever as part of a deal.

With all this talk about "leading the others". What the hell are these leaders leading anyways? What's the point of being the others' leader except some Lord of the Flies shit.

I also am guessing that the parachutist is actually working for Dharma and was sent to the island ti investigate after all communication was shut down.
I don't think so... wasn't she holding a picture of Desmond and Penny?

I think the plane at the bottom of the ocean is full of clones or corpses (4 miles deep is too deep to do any DNA sampling me thinks) and the island stays off the radar while Dharma continues it's research.

Anyone else notice that Hurley says "dude" alot?

You ever think that Penny might also work for Dharma? Alos, consider that Desmond's recollections of everything in his past may not really be as we have seen so far.

If she was with Dharma why would she be looking for him? Wouldn't she know exactly where he was?

Although if she wasn't with Dharma how would she know to look for a magnetic pulse?

Things that make you go "Hmmmmm..."

I definately think Penny's father, Charles Widmore and the Widmore company are responsible for at least Desmond being on the island -- an through some sort of association with Dharma/Mittelos/Paik Industries, possibly the other 815ers.

Right and Penny, being a wealthy Whidmore, has the funds to undertake an expensive search operation. Whether she believes her father or his company was involved in Desmond's disappearance is unknown.

She could still be part of Dharma. My thoughts are she is part of Dharma and that she was in agreement with what happened to Desmond after they separated and him arriving on the island. I do not believe that she was privy to the location of the island. She just might have longed for Desmond as he has for her during their time apart. She might also have people searching for him, but nothing has been nailed down about the parachutist for sure being sent by her. The parachutist could have in fact been sent by papa Widmore or Dharma themselves to see what is going on. Since communication was lost during the hatch being blown and Mikhail's house blown-up I believe that some suspicions have been raised. I also believe that the Others were part of Dharma as workers only. At some point during Dharma's operation on the island they decided to overthrow the Dharma leaders on the island and try and reverse whatever it is they were doing. This is why Ben didn't pay no mind to what was really inside the Swan. However, on the outside those in control of Dharma have no knowledge of what has gone on and that a "purge" has happened. They are now getting a whiff that not everything on the island is going the way they thought it was. Mikhail was keeping up the appearance that everything was ok until his house and all of the computers were blown up. Now that Dharma knows something is going on they have sent someone to find out and report back. I also believe that there never was any wreckage found and that the parachutist just mentioned that to keep the Losties confused until Dharma could come and secure them. Unless Michael and Walt actually made it home, which we have no confirmation of, then we can assume that the outside world thinks the plane was lost at sea. As to what will happen from here on out nobody knows. It seems that the beginning of the end will start to roll at the end of this season.

Is the season finale of Lost a 2 hour finale, or just 1 hour?
