Good episode, except all the scenes with Jake and his problems and his family. He sucks the life out of this show for me. I still don't see where his character was even necessary. Ok, maybe to drive a wedge between Nina and Andy, but I really don't care to see much of his backstory. He is a tertiary character at best and I think all his scenes would be time better given to a Brown or an Abbot.

I still remember in Action! when Jay Mohr called him Party of Five-foot-two.

If anyone watched One Tree Hill, Brooke and Lucas were apart for the summer and just last episode Brooke gave Lucas a stack of letters she had written over the summer and didn't mail. Sound familar?

These are two different production teams, but I seriously doubt this could be coincidental. There was a similar plot parallel with Everwood during OTH's first season, unfortunately I cannot remember the details.

Is there some rule written somewhere that Scott Wolf is required to play an addict of some kind if he is on a television show? Although I never watched it, I know he was an alcoholic on Party of Five. Oh, well. I guess some things never change.

I thought this was a pretty good ep. I am realizing more and more that despite some good scenes, like the postcard thing, I really could do without Ephram and Amy and still really enjoy this show, maybe even like it better. As someone else said, I wasn't expecting another new ep, so I was very pleasantly surprised when I checked my DVR and saw this sitting in there.

The whole "come and take a shower with me" Hannah thing seemed really out of character for her.

And I have two questions about the ep:

1) We know that Amy and Ephram "made out" but do you think they "did it" again?

2) We know that Hannah and Bright "took a shower" but do you think they "did it"?

In my opinion, in both cases I say no, but I could be wrong. What do ya'll think?

I actually assumed yes for the first and no for the second. On the Hannah/Bright front I just think it would be strange she would want to lose her virginity in a shower. Whereas the way Amy & Ephram were acting just made me think they did it.

I say yes on Amy and Ephram and a definite no on Hannah and Bright too.

Really good episode. I'm not sure I can pick out one bad one that occurred this year. Perhaps the shower scene was a little over the top, but I thought the portion leading up to it was so well done that I could simply go with the outcome.

loved the A/E scenes. not sure what my take is on the situation the next morning. i'm 50/50 on what transpired. i think it's really funny if you look at E's action given the advise he got from Bright!

I also fall into the camp that thinks Nina over-reacted to Jake. I'm surprised he even said anything to her. Figured he would have been okay since he actually decided to. On the otherhand I thought he was going to be dead by the act following the credits.

Didn't want to create a new thread but Everwood is moving back to Mondays when it returns on March 20th with a 2 hr episode and then moves back to its regular slot at 9pm after 7th Heaven on March 27th.

I hope that they carry this show over to CW or I'll be mighty pissed about it. Right now, odds are not good for this show survival but hopefully the show can attract some Nielsen viewers with the move to Mondays.

Everwood

I can't believe there have been only 9 episodes of Everwood on the air this season. I wonder how many double-up Mondays we'll see for Everwood. After tonight, there should be 11 more episodes (unless they chopped down the order to around 18, like they did with Related).

finally!

I haven't seen the episodes yet (I'm at work), but at my dinner break, I checked my cable guide and realized these eps were going to be on tonight. I nearly completely forgot about them, it's been so long since we've seen an episode of Everwood.

I haven't really been feeling Everwood since early last season, and tonight's eps just about clinched it for me. I may stick around for a couple more weeks, but the show has just about outlived its usefulness to me.

First and foremost, I simply cannot stand the character of Hannah or the actress who plays her. I don't know exactly what it is, but she has bothered me from day one. I think it's mostly her wholesome, "goody two shoes" image. Scott Wolf is also pretty unnecessary on this show. On top of that, the Ephram/Amy saga is just so played out-even more so than Ryan and Marissa on the O.C.

The main things I enjoy lately (Harold and Andy) have not been getting enough screentime this season. There is far too much focus on Hannah and Bright, which is understandable I guess, because Bright is a great character who did deserve to be fleshed out more. I just wish it didn't have to be with Hannah. Also, as much as I hate to say it, I almost prefer Ephram when he is being a whiny little shit to everyone, especially Andy.

Yeah, Everwood feels different now, but I feel like they're building up to something else. Andy's reveal about Julia's affair was big. Delia's seems to be struggling with something and we have no idea what it is yet. Terri Bauer ( ) looks like she'll be a major character involved in Amy's life somehow. And the developing opposite life philosophies between Amy and Hannah looks like it will start to address political issues. Maybe it's just me, but I feel like there's potential. It's not quite there yet, but I'm willing to give it some time. The writers have done some outstanding work in past seasons so they deserve a chance.

First Hour:

Andy's ranting was really jarring, he was so out for blood about Irv's novel, and even the reveal about Julia didn't quite resolve the intensity of Andy's rantings and ravings. At least Irv gave Andy an outlet for his pain and frustration.

They reset Amy and Ephram once again after they do their little dance, only to return to separate corners of the room.

It was a little jarring to see Delia looking less child-like compared to the earlier episodes, she's starting to hit her growth spurt, she looks to have grown 6 inches in height.

Jake and Nina aren't doing it for me.

Ephram should never wear that cabbie's hat, he looks strange. His scene with his piano student, and the parallels of his life in high school had that life's cyclical chorus feel to it, only if one was open to such.

2nd hour

Why do I get the idea that Amy's prof. is going to hit on her later this season? That's the sad vibe I get from this burgeoning relationship between student and mentor. I don't really think Amy got the best of Hannah in their little uncomfortable catch-up walk about town, as Amy must have limitless time to not only do her homework, but then join 8 bazillion clubs in order to "find" herself. Hannah's point about mixed message was the crux of her stance, and for some, that's their personal line for the topic.

Will Edna's panic attacks go away as long as she's with Irv? Or are they hinting at something more ominous.

Delia's yearning for social "mean girls" acceptance appears to be causing her pain due to the capriciousness of Britney and her ilk. I'd like to think Delia is better than that, but at that age, so many little conflicting emotions and needs just become a mish-mash. Delia also needs an outlet for her own emotional growth given what she's been through, and having to deal with Andy's strong-handed parenting. I thought it was a nice bit of setup and acting on Cardone's part.

I'm not all that in tuned with Harold and Rose's quest for adoption. But Rose's use of her own children's past to convince Harold that he can handle anything another child could bring to their doorsteps was very ironic.

I'll miss that Ms. Pacman game, almost as much as Bright, but the trade-off was well worth it for Ephram to get his mojo back, even if it took Will's passing for him to find it again.

How will Amy's view of her father change now that she found out about Harold's past medical activities in the files at Planned Parenthood?

I will watch the show till it is cancelled. The first two seasons were stellar. This season (and last) are just floundering along. ZERO sense of community, that was present in the first couple seasons. The college stuff is *yawn*. I haven't liked Hanna and I like her less now. The Gilmore Girls scenes between her and Amy, were simply bad. They are failing at finding a place for both Hanna and Bright.

NOOOOOOOOOOOO Nina, Let Jake go !!!!! He doesn't fit with the show at all. And while I am at it .... Edna, die already.

The Good Stuff:

The foundation and circle of Andy, Ephram, Amy and Harrold still works. When any two of those are on screen, Everwood is great and back in form. Since they are the principals, this still represents a large part of the show.

Once a week I drive down to my parents house and we watch an episode of the first season on DVD. This is my third time through the first season. The high quality writing from the first season emphasizes how mediocre the current season is.

Aside from the crap involving Amy's college experience and Nina/Jake, I really enjoyed several sequences scattered throughout these two eps.

The phone calls that started the show between Hannah/Amy and Bright/Ephram.

The Miss Pac-Man saga, including the slap, the kiss before getting her name, the morning after, the loss, the rebirth of the piano. Bright was awesome throughout (as always). Sad to see Will go - I was hoping they would bring back James Earl Jones for an appearance.

"We don't need a tv, that's what the moose is for." I was happy to see that they threw at least one scene between Andy/Harold in the two hours.

And Harold's over-exuberance at showing off their African regalia to the adoption representative was pretty funny. However, I'm not really feeling this adoption thing.

Well for whatever reason I don't think these recorded. =( But the length of the responses make it seem like these were some good eps. Looking fowards to them!

I am looking forward to

These eps were weird for me. Amy's character is all over the place and the rift between her and Hannah doesn't seem like something I'm going to care about.

Still glad to see Everwood back and since I feel like this is going to be the last season, I'm going to stick it out.

Thanks to WB and their wonderful scheduling, the ratings were lackluster to say the least for Monday's episodes.

That wasn't a reveal, was it? I seem to recall that being mentioned before. I think Ephram found out about Julia's affair when he confronted his dad because he thought Andy had been the unfaithful one.

But this is a few seasons back so I may be sketchy on the details.
