Mine, too. I've come to hate Storm, Lukas and Dilana. I'm glad Patrice is gone -- I think it was the way she enunciates her words when singing which really annoyed me.

Confident yes....Arrogant no. I do agree that most lead singers are arrogant though. I just think that since the band is picking their singer, they will stay away from red flags that they've all probably seen before. Lukas, Dilana and Storm all throw off red flags to me. Ryan also seemed like he may have a problem from that footage where he was micro managing the house band. I'll bet anything that Magni and Toby are the two people that the House Band likes to work with the most. Of course talent trumps all that.

There's no way to know if Ryan's like that all the time or just trying to get his song perfect for the audition. It's certainly possible all the micro-managing is just to get it right. Once he's got the job, it may just as easily go away. Sadly, no way for us or Supernova to know.

I agree. With the covers, the house band already knows what the songs are supposed to sound like. But with an original it's a different story. They need a bit more direction just because it's unfamiliar. And at the end of the day, it's Ryan's butt that is on the line if the song comes off poorly.

I'd go:
1-2 Ryan/Magni
3 Lukas
4-5 Dilana/Toby
6 Storm

Lukas isn't the best but at least I find him interesting. Toby's arguably a better singer, but he absolutely bores me to tears. He's just so 'generic rocker' to me. Although that means he's actually PERFECT for Supernova's music.

It could argued Magni is generic is well, because of his chameleonic nature. But still, he's not boring to me.

That was understandable but when he is suggesting dance moves to the band then he's going a bit far. Plus, I got the impression that the band was saying he micro manages them every week.

I have the feeling Ryan is a perfectionist. He was the only one who didn't want to participate in the singers' very first test of making the melody and lyrics to the Supernova track in the studio. He probably didn't think he could do a good job "on the spot" and wanted his first impression to be the best it could be. As Jason said then, that was a mark against Ryan for not participating, but I have a feeling that he's been good enough for them to overlook that by now.

I liked Lukas at first, but I've gotten tired of him. He just seems... strange. I don't think he has a good voice when growling OR when singing. And his stage theatrics appear very forced.

Alright my opinion now on the whole thing is

Ryan should win. He's a deadly singer, a good songwriter and has excellent stage presense. He might get winded a little when he moves, but James hetfield never moved, Axl rose couldn't hit a pitch to save his life and everyones seen Vince neil throw that mic out to the crowd for half the lyrics because he's too fat and winded to sing them all.

Magni although boring seems to be a pretty good natured guy and Knowing that kinda warms me up to his performances, even though he sounds like the guy from Live.

Storm's still a dude but a pretty cool one. She's shown herself to have big heart and is always really encouraging to the other singers, dancing and singing along while they perform. I'm not really into her singing at all, but she's definitely got a great voice

Toby's been alright but still kinda crappy.

Dilana's a bitch. I hope this comes back to bite her in the ass. She thinks she has this thing so wrapped up and it was awesome to see her sweating it as they played all of her bullshit clips. 'i'm just too honest'...what a bunch of shit. Honesty suggests truth, and she's just full of a bunch of jaded, big headed opinions. Ryan slayed that song. The house band helped, but don't forget he wrote the fucking thing.

Lukas sucks. His song last night blew and to me it seemed that the other members of Supernova might have felt the same way, but they gave it half hearted 'that was good', suggesting a deeper plot and here's what i believe it is...Lukas has this thing won. I think Supernova are making it out to seem that Dilana is the frontrunner by giving her all the praise and letting her sing with the band, but its all for dramatic value on the last show when they "pick" lukas over Dilana. Everyone likes a shocker.

By the way, Supernova sucks. Would anybody actually listen to those two songs they've played so far and enjoy it?

It's really amazing how this and AI can cause such a difference of opinion. I don't agree with much of this above.

Ryan - I do like his voice and agree that he's an excellent songwritter, but his vocal range is limited and better suited to alt. rock. That studio scene was telling, he was having a hard time keeping up with a rock band. As for stage presence, it's definitely gotten better, but that's just not him.

Magni - the guy from Live? Just because they are bald doesn't mean they sound similiar. They don't, not even remotely. Ed sings much higher and with frequent falsetto. Magni has a nice lower register to his voice.

Storm we disagree on completely. Not only is her vocal range limited, but I think she's incredibly false. She's constantly mugging for the camera and singing and dancing to every performance is incredibly annoying. I don't think she's genuine at all.

I do agree with you about Toby. He's just alright, but the best performer out of the whole bunch. I like his Juke Kartel stuff (check MySpace)

Dilana is a real ass and letting this go to her head. She's not that good of a singer and looks like she's 45. After last night, her support may be tanking. I'll be curious to see if there's backlash and she's into the bottom three.

Lukas as the band's pick? I highly doubt it. These guys aren't sophisticated enough to run a gambit like that. I think they like what he brings, but he's not the guy.

I didn't care too much for Supernova's two songs, but the second original was much better than the first. At least it was interesting. It did remind me of Nada Surf's Popular with all the lyrics in the verses.

You don't need any range to sing the two supernova songs. Hell, the sex pistols had more range in their vocals than the songs supernova has churned out so far.

Supernova is an alt rock band with some grade 2 blues thrown in. That's why Ryan would fit. Supernova is not a hard band to keep up with. I could write songs equilivant to both of those in like 20 minutes and then completely have forgotten them an hour later.

i agree with you on the second supernova song, dvd josh. it wasn't that great, but it was an interesting idea, playing on all the cliches. the melody (or lack thereof) was what really threw it off.

yeah, the whole time dilana was saying "you'd be nothing without the house band", i was saying, "he freaking wrote the song!!" she just knows she can't write crap.

Actually, I think Ryan sounds much more like the singer from LIVE than Magni does. Still, I'd hardly call Ryan "deadly" - only on my ears, perhaps, cause he's killing me, and not in a good way. He's also has crap stage presence - and still comes off like a guy trying way too hard and not succeeding at it very well. I'll give you that his last performance, with his orginal song, was his best yet. But that still doesn't change my opinion of him too much.

Of the two, Magni's a far better singer, and English isn't even his original language. He can also work the stage, and his vocals don't give out on him while he's doing it, either.

Ryan's good at the angsty, angry songs, but you give him a song with hooks and melodies, he'd butcher it.

As proven by the two slower stripped down songs, filled with melody that he nailed.

That shouldn't be an issue with Supernova since the two songs they've debutted have no hooks or melodies.

More Nirvana! But the fans voted on the songs this week, so blame them.

Spoiler:

Lukas - Lithium
Toby - Rebel Yell
Magni - I Alone
Storm - Bring Me To Life
Ryan - Clocks
Dilana - Mother Mother

latest reality episode is up... and more shit with dilana hits the fan.

she gets emotional about how she was "too honest", and starts crying. she freaks out in front of the cameras, and throws a glass down on the ground. it shatters, and a piece flies up and hits magni in the head (just above his forehead), opening up a cut. crazy chick...

Really surprised the producers didn't send her home after that outburst.
