Quote: I could not agree with this more. He chooses his party to accompany him on the raid, and no one questions that he picks Hurley over Sayid? What possible purpose could he serve other than crushing through branches alerting the camp that they are about to attack? It just made absolutely no sense at all, and I can't believe the people were just taking what he said at face value because of the amount of panic he had on his face. Thank God Sayid showed a little common sense finally, or I would have had to turn off my TV.
It looks like you, Legolas & I are on the same page regarding this part!

Quote: Might I suggest that, when the show airs for the first time (6pm est since that is when it seems to air in Canada) that someone simple places a response in the thread that clearly says something like

THE SHOW HAS BEGUN AIRING ... PROCEED BEYOND THIS POST AT YOUR OWN RISK
I know better than to read this thread until I have seen the episode, even if it's a couple of days later. It's just common sense.

This is a thread for a person to post their pre thoughts about the episode and their current thoughts as the episode is playing out.

People that haven't seen the episode need to stay out of this thread after 5 pm EST (this is when it starts in Canada, correct?). Simple as that!

Quote: I kept waiting for getting rid of Ana Lucia to be included as part of Michael's terms. His reaction to shooting Libby was so different from when he shot AL, that it seemed like he was told/coerced into shooting AL.
I believe his only goal was to free Henry Gale. He knew going in that he would have to kill Ana Lucia, so that she wouldn't rat on him freeing Henry. He didn't expect Libby to walk in and was shocked and surprised and without thinking shot her twice. That is why his reaction was so different. He knew he had to kill the person that was guarding Henry Gale, but didn't expect anyone else walking in on him.

After last nights over the top performance, I think it's the best thing to do.

I have been trying to think about why the four were on the list. I am not going to worry about why certain people were NOT on the list (with the exception of one), so let's see if we can't put together something plausible on the four:

1) Jack - A good person, a doctor, the leader, strong enough to fight Ethan

2) Sawyer - Strong, determined fighter, resourceful

3) Kate - A woman (not too many of those in the Others camp), strong

4) Hurley - Dharma needs funds, has heard the numbers before coming to the island

On top of that, all four have seen things that shouldn't be on the island (logically) on the Island -

Jack - His father, the security system
Kate - The horse, SS, and the polar bear
Sawyer - The Horse, the Polar Bear, The Others
Hurley - Dave

Why not Sayid? Well if your plan was to get the drop on the above, you wouldn't want the best fighter of the bunch mucking up your chances.

So let's see if we can think of any more reasons for the four.

Why not share with the rest of us? Or is it cooler to keep it a secret?

I think the answer to the riddle is "filler."

I wonder how Michael originally planned to get Fatboy to go on the excursion since it seemed like shooting Libby was a total accident (and he didn't know that Hurley had the hots for her).

No, I'm finally caught up with my posting. Groucho answered the riddle.

Then again they trust Michael and the fact that Henry "escaped" leaves no doubt for them. As far as his behaviour they just chalk that up to Michael being anxious and in a hurry to get his son back. As far as Michael wanting Hurely they probably rationalized that he didn't actually want Hurely but wanted it to be up to him, it's his son so it's his decision. Denial's a bitch.

I think what we may be missing is that for Michael, nothing was planned. He did not know Ana Lucia had a gun. (She JUST got it). He didn't know yet where they were keeping Henry did he? Ana Lcuia told Michael that she was going to kill him; but was unable to pull the trigger. Michael thought "Oh shit, she can't kill him, I have to set him free". "Give me the gun, I'll do it". Now why AL (a cop) would so quickly hand over the gun is kinda questionable. Michael realized the ONLY way he could free Henry and get away with it (remember he had to bring the others back) was to kill AL. He probably thought no one would care. Remember, when he left, she had just killed Shannon. Libby surprised him and he pulled the trigger as a reaction. I don't think he ever intended to kill anyone, but he QUICKLY ran out of options. Libby snuck up on him and he shot out of fright.

Michael is quickly becoming one of the most annoying, unsympathetic characters ever and I will enjoy watching him die hopefully.

Quote: Why did people get bent when the Canadian guy posted the show an hour before anyone else saw it, then I post a complaint about the same issue, and it is no big deal and I get shit for it? Was it because you ended up seeing the show by the time I posted, so all is good once you got to see it? Whatever..........

Anyway, here are some caps I got that might strike up some convo..

Did we get duped again with the ending? In last weeks preview for THIS episode, we see them on the beach and a bright flash, but we didnt get it in the end? I hate that.
Still sorta pisses me off that nobody saw odd crime scene.AL sitting on the couch shot.....guess they wanted to save it for Sayid to figure out another way that Michael is lying.
Seems this episode only showed a few things and not too much so as to keep us for season 3 which I am sure is what will happen. No flashbacks was nice, other than just seeing what Michael did while gone.I think they just gave us some new people to look forward to.A couple new locations to remember.
While Michael was talking with Walt via the computer Walt says something about his location being under a rock with a hole in it. BTW, can you get a screen cap of that scene?

Does anyone know why this episode was titled "Three Minutes"? The only thing I can think of is that it is the time the show actually airs between commercial breaks.

Ms. Clue gave Michael 3 minutes with Walt.

All I have to say is that the season Finale BETTER rock. If it sucks, I think Lost will be in trouble next season. When that button doesn't get pushed something damn cool better happen.
I agree. Time for some big payoffs. I think the Producers realize this as well but then again they said that last year so....

Agree 100%.

His reaction, while captured, from being very angry and belligerant to a blubbering fool just didn't seem realistic to me.

They never threatened to kill his son, so he could have just played it cool and when released he could have gone back to camp with the truth. They could have formulated a plan of action and I'm sure they could have surprised The Others with bigger #'s and weapons.

I mean think of it. He has already murdered 2 people and now he is sending the 4 to an unknown fate. He is either the most selfish man who ever lived or more likely, a victim of piss poor pathetic writing of his character.

I really had sympathy for his character in the first season, but now HE MUST DIE!
