Yeah, I'm actually in the same boat there. If they develop off this episode, good ep. If not, then it was a wasted filler.

I seriously doubt that they will just drop the storyline, especially since at the end you see charlie pull his hoodie over his head, kind of symbolic like he's alone in the dark again. Especially since this was all about family, charlie was screaming about family all episode, and at the end he feels that they turned their back on him. I see him being a loner for the next few episodes at least and maybe getting contacted by the "others".

Like i said a few weeks back, I think we're going to see Eko is a bad man who was saved by faith, and Locke was a good man who is being corrupted by it.

Pretty slow ep overall, with all that these people have seen on this island, you would think they would give a little more credibility to Charlie's dreams. Echo did, but not enough to stand up for Charlie as Locke beat the crap out of him. Still was enough for Claire to go get the baptism, which may end up saving the child in the end. Hope they build off this ep, otherwise it wasnt very worthwhile, as others stated. Now we get a break, anyone see a schedule for new eps?

As of right now, I'd rate it easily as my least favorite episode of Lost thus far. Totally pointless flashback, nothing about any island plot lines (but at least they did mention the conversation with the others in the Jack-AL scene instead of acting like nothing had happend as in the past) and no character development outside of the Charlie going crazy shit, so they better build off that.

Guess there was some mild development with Hurley and Libby, and Jack-Ana Lucia, but that was already started rolling last episode so nothing new.

But like you say, it will move up in my rankings if they build of Charlie's story here and it's something important.

Why didn't Locke just destroy the heroin? Obviously, that plot point will return sometime.

I missed it tonight. Sounds like nothing much happened. Why did Locke beat down Charlie?

Which is unfortunate as I think most everyone is sick of that plot. I liked Charlie, but they've got to do something else with his plot, the heroin bit is played out.

Of course they could tie it in to Eko or someone else later on, but I have a feeling it will just come back to Charlie again.

He was having nightmares that Claire's baby was in danger. 1st he sleep walked and took him while Claire was sleeping and freaked everyone out.

Then he talked to Eko and was convinced the baby had to be baptized, Claire didn't want anything to do with him after the prior episode and Kate pushed him away from her when he was yelling at her that he had to get Aaron baptized.

So he started a fire at night as a diversion and took the baby, Locke sees him/hears Claire yelling. Gets him to give him the baby, hands it to Claire and then beats the shit out of Charlie.

I agree with all of this.

I listened to the this week's podcast yesterday. Carlton and Damon said that they were going to develop more of the major characters with these next couple of eps.

notice how tonight's ep, 2 days went by, and the last day went by in about 10 minutes.

I agree. Eko definitely seems to be filling the void that Locke is leaving behind as well. I get the feeling the two could have an altercation at some point.

Now what that has to do with the rest of the storyline, well, beats me.

Where does Hurley know LIbby from? Did she appear on his episode?

Maybe Locke thought the heroin could be useful to Jack, if he ever one day needs a painkiller for an injured patient. Afterall, heroin comes from opium, just like morphine and codeine.

And on an island with limited resources, it's not a good idea to destroy something that may be useful.

When Charlie pulled his hood over his head at the end, gave me an Anakin/Vader flashback.

This episode was written by Adam Horowitz and Edward Kitsis. They previously wrote "Born to Run" (the one with the Kate flashback about getting that guy she loved killed) and "Everybody Hates Hugo" (the one where he is in charge of the food and he has that dream where Jin speaks English). Nothing much happened in either one.

I agree with everyone else. This episode was horrific. Charlie going batshit fails the "would he really?" test.

I'm starting to think that this polarity will spread throughout the group as time goes by, which could lead to a split in the group. One group to follow Eko and remain the "good" guys, and another group to go further into corruption with Locke. This could tie into why it seemed that there could be 2 different groups of Others.

So we get two new episodes on Feb 15th? Yippee if true but I highly doubt it.
