I have to say I feel bad for Charlie. I really didn't like how everyone turned their back on him after Locke beat the crap out of him. I can't believe out of all those people, none of them would have sympathy for Charlie.

Who knows, future use perhaps? Nice Statues?
No new episodes for a few weeks, ABC is starting to piss me off with that shit.
and from the preview..
Good episode for character drama, even if nothing on the island happend. I'm glad they didn't make Charlie "in" again by the end of the episode (would have made it filler), but seeing as he's now an outsider, there's possible plot threads to come.

Decent episode. While Charlie deserved an ass-kicking for taking the baby, Locke is now my least favorite character. He's seems to be more of a control freak each episode. If Charlie wants to do heroin it's nobody's business. And after taking the heroin, he keeps it. wtf?
Was he changing to combo to open the gun safe at the end of the ep?

Who wrote this episode? The exchange between Jack and Anna Lucia was GOD AWFUL.
"You hittin' that?"
"You're hot, she's hot..."
"that's what people do"
Decent episode, but that scene had some of the worst dialogue I've ever heard. Yikes.

Locke had no right to hit Charlie like that. You just don't go hitting someone like that. He could of really hurt Charlie. I hate Locke now.

Yet another worthless flashback. The island stuff was ok. It had actually been awhile since there was some decent character interaction. Ana Lucia is almost tolerable when she's alone with Jack.
Overall it was a mediocre episode. I'm guessing they're saving all the good stuff for sweeps(either that or Season 3).

So, I guess it's safe to assume Eko is not really a priest, since he took over after his brother was killed, and therefore Claire and baby are not batized. Will this come into play later?
I hope not, because I hope they keep religion out of the main story lines.

I rewatched the entire first season of Lost this past weekend with some friends. It was a great marathon with one of the best single seasons of a TV show ever. It's absolutely like watching a 24-hour-long (or so) high-quality movie, with a complete storyline, a compelling narrative that feels true, and characters who grow, develop, and behave in believable ways as the story progresses.
Doing so reminded me of how much worse season 2 has been. This episode did nothing to change that opinion. All of the characters seem to have gone insane, acting in ways that are contrary to what they've done in the past, and the story doesn't appear to be going anywhere. It feels as though the writers are really stretching to find something, anything to happen.
Maybe it's just me. Maybe I'll like it more when season 2 comes out on DVD and I can watch it straight through. All I know is that with the exception of 1 or 2 episodes, this season has felt disjointed and meandering to me, as though I'm watching a completely different show than the one from last year.

Charlie says he isn't using, so I assume he isn't at this time. Still not so cool of Locke to beat him down like that, his character seems to be changing a lot more. It's like the creators knew people were big fans of him, so they thought they should make him more of a badass. Isn't working though. And whatever he's doing with the guns looks like bad news.
Noticed Charlie and his brother living near the Brixton tube stop in London. Probably best known to Americans from The Clash song "The Guns Of Brixton".
When they kick at your front door
How you gonna come?
With your hands on your head
Or on the trigger of your gun
Just makes you wonder about what role those guns are going to play.
Of course there is also every possibility that I'm reading way too much into that scene. Still, they made the sign so obvious, it makes me feel like it really means something, especially on this show.

I'm sorry, but Charlies deserved his ass beating. He endangered everyone on the island with that fire and endangered the baby by running off with him towards the water. I really cannot understand or emphasize with his motivations during this episode.
Disapponting episode.

But... I like the characters a lot still, and will continue tuning in, until it officially jumps the shark. And I DO still enjoy the show a good deal more than just about anything else on TV.

I, for one, loved Locke kicking Charlie's ass. About damn time. I don't think they are forcing the Locke character to do more, I just think they are showing how he is changing, especially after the let down of what the hatch was.
What really annoys me is how they are dragging out Charlie's addiction and those statues. There have been 2 or 3 episodes now centered around Charlie trying to decide whether to quit and give up the heroine or not - and he STILL hasn't made a final decision, and the heroine is still in play. I felt more sympathetic for Charlie this episode than any other, but he's gotta make a decision and be done with it - I still think he's got an itch to use again in the back of his mind.

I don't know what to think about this episode because nothing happened except Charlie went nuts for some strange reason that was never explained for the entire 60 minutes. Nothing but a filler and a terrible one at that.

I see Charlie getting progrerssivly crazier and further ostracized...forcing him out of the camp, and perhaps INTO the others...BUT if they just completly drop this storyline, then this sucked
