For what it's worth, it appears that these guys were given bond of $40,000 to $50,000, meaning that they could either pay that, pay 10% (and lose it) to a bondsman, or stay in jail.
Also, their cars were all confiscated (used in the commission of a crime). |
These ongoing shows are just a big joke.
Next season are they going to broadcast car crashes???? Chris Hansen must be embarrassed to have studied to be a journalist just for this. |

There's a new episode this friday 10/6. I missed the one from last week. :( |
I guess they caught someone up here in Northern California.
They caught a former Chiron MD in this sting Maurice Wolin, 48, Piedmont, physician arrested in a Petaluma sting operation by NBC News’ program “Dateline NBC” as part of its series on sexual predators and is scheduled to be aired in two parts, with the first tentatively slated for Sept. 29 http://www1.arguscourier.com/apps/pb...EWS01/60905007 |

I am mature and got to admit I enjoy the female form but the idea of having sex with a 13 year old, indeed at my age even with a 25 year old, never occurs to me. Give me a good looking 40 something anyday. When you watch this show they always reports "loads" of guys jumping at the chance to have sex/talk sex with a young minor child which might leave some to believe a large percentage of males would do this sort of thing. Yeah, a lot of sicko's but in a nation where you have fifty million plus mature males you are bound to have a few sicko's. There are tens of thousand perhaps even a million but that is still "only" 2% of the mature male population. Something is terribly wrong with these guys in the upstairs department. Whenever I watch when the fifty something balding 50 lb overweight guy gets out of his family vehicle I always wonder "What on earth leads you to believe a 13 year old hottie wants YOU to be her first?" As far as Dr. Wolin is concerned I would have loved to be a fly listening to the conversation (icy silence?) on the ride back home from the jail house. But I guess he is lucky because if I did something that stupid my wife would just let me rot. |
Am I nuts or....
I applaud the efforts of Chris Hanson and his crew to exposing online predators of minors. I usually have no problem with the on-screen interviews and the later arrest and questioning. For some reason, tonight's show rang differently for me. They made a pretty big deal about there being three military men who showed up at their latest house. Later in the show, the three men were caught on camera as usual, but "Dateline" chose to dwell -- for almost two full segments -- on a sergeant who just came back from a two year tour in Iraq. After a few minutes, the Chris Hanson interview in the kitchen became excruciating to watch. The man ended up kneeling on the kitchen floor, in tears, begging Chris Hanson not to ruin his life. He was, of course, arrested and led away. Commercial break and we're back to this same man now being questioned by police. I don't know how long that segment actually lasted, but it felt like forever. My issue is that even though I understand, and agree with, the need to get these men off the internet and out of the homes of minors, home alone, I found it mean spirited for "Dateline" to spend an inordinate amount of time on the sergeant that had just served this country for two years in a war. I think he should have been arrested and charged and then serve a sentence -- I don't think it was necessary to vilify the man on national television. Like I said, maybe I'm nuts.... |
Was this a new episode? If so, why air it on a graveyard night when this series gets some decent ratings for NBC which needs 'em badly?

It's not like Chris Hansens and crew were trying to get military people. However, when they showed up it made a more intersting story, based on "military code and honor", than a truck driver or nerdy computer geek.

It's back again with a brand new episode.
"To Catch a Predator" returns to primetime Jan. 30 with Chris Hansen traveling to Long Beach, Calif., reporting on the first of three more investigations. Watch a preview of Tuesday's broadcast http://video.msn.com/v/us/msnbc.htm?...d/3032600/&fg= |

Wow this decoy is F'n up pretty bad.
That guy should be saying "I'm sorry I was here for the naked boys, I should not be arrested" |
I was laughing my ass off when the guy got tasered...what the hell was he thinking? :hscratch:
|
About the guy who they caught a 2nd time; They say it was a day after his court date. What does that say about our justice system?
I think Chris Hansen and he had just a brief discussion about it and it was something to the effect that it was reset for yet another court date. I wonder how many of these guys are given actual jail sentences. |
