Looks like Chris Hansen will be back asking that same old question once again: "What are you doing here"

Why dont they just make it a damn series? The first one was fine and even a follow up I could understand but now they are doing it just for ratings.

Eh, i figure there's worse things to profit from than outing these scumbags. Regardless of the motivation, I still think they are doing a good thing.

I'm honestly surprised Fox hasn't.

Lateralus 04-26-06 06:41 PM

As long as they show Dell I'll be watching.

Lateralus 04-26-06 06:44 PM

Hey look, up the sky!!! It's May Sweeps!!! -rolleyes-

Looks like FOX has it's own version this weekend on AMW.

JimmySRU 04-26-06 08:18 PM

sick these guys are losing everything in one second.

Phil L. 04-27-06 02:44 PM

The show was cringe inducing as usual.
These guys seem to have a real uncontrolable compulsion, which is quite scary.
Many of them are aware of the internet stings, and seem to be genuinely suspicious of the whole set up at the houses. Yet they can't stop themselves from going inside anyway.
I'm not sure people like this can ever be rehabilitated.

The school teacher guy was particularly sick. He teaches 12-13 year old kids, and makes plans to meet a 13 year old girl for sex. Not good.

TheMovieman 04-27-06 02:47 PM

I missed this one (was watching a movie instead). I think they rerun these on MSNBC on the weekend, so I might catch it then.

Exactly. It's a sexual preference much like many other preferences. The difference is that most preferences do not hurt someone. The majority of these people do not want to be like they are. They spend their entire life trying to supress their feelings but sometimes they can't. I certainly do not condone this behavior but I do believe it's way more than the people just being "perverts".

Also, for those that missed it and don't want to wait for the re-air, you can also view parts of the show online.

Here is the link, just type Dateline in the search box.

Who knows? But "Dateline" shows no interest either way. Sure they are dirty pervs, etc., and most of them try to deny or make excuses; but there is a reason an adult is unnaturally attracted to children, and the program has no curiosity about that. It just exploits the situation for riveting television.
And, as much as I too enjoy seeing these guys confronted, doesn't anyone else find that Hanson weasel enervating? Sauntering out of the shadows like a big man. He can masquerade his faux machismo only because the pedos are extremely vulnerable, having been caught with their pants down.

Nick Martin 04-27-06 08:38 PM

I like it. Putting the faces of those people on national television, humiliating them for the rest of their lives...exposing their dirty little secrets to anyone who watches, including families and friends, destroying them...best show I've seen in a good long while.

Very insightful!

Anyone think this verges on entrapment? I'm glad these people are getting what they deserve, but what if they don't deserve it? Almost every one of them said that it was their first time, what if it really was? True, they would say anything to get away, but on the off chance that this is their first time, I'd say it is tantamount (sp?) to entrapment. Someone never doing something like this before being egged on by people who are out for arrests.

The latest installment of the series will be today, May 10th, at 9pm (EST I think).

"To Catch a Predator" in Ft. Myers, Florida airs tonight on Dateline, 9 p.m.
If you were wondering, the last one (number 4?) was on April 26.

I'm really surprised none of these guys has had a gun. Sure, there were cops outside... but the guys didn't know that obviously. Whether it for just for being overcautious or if you actually got a sicko that was planning on killing the girl in addition to/instead of having sex with her. And then if Hansen pops out instead of the girl, the guy might panic and shoot him.

I love this show. They need to get the adults playing as kids more involved, having the pervs grab at them or something, then have Bill Goldberg come out of a closet and beat down the perv.

True, or a "rape kit" in case the child was "uncooperative".

The husky guy who brought his son - the last subject on the show this week - was very frightening. He was there to molest a 14-year-old boy, and I'm almost willing to bet he wanted to use his son as a prop; such as having the two kids suck each other (and him) off while he takes pictures. This guy should be permanently barred from seeing his son.

lordwow 05-17-06 08:04 PM

I saw the two kid thing yesterday online... probably the most disturbing video I've ever seen.

RoyalTea 05-18-06 10:07 AM

chris hansen is so condescending ... and I love it.

like when he told the cat lover that he could keep the towel.

lordwow 05-18-06 10:28 AM

I've only watched 2 of these, but thus far Chris Hansen has impressed me. He's very good at baiting them into saying something, and then reading something they said that contradicts that.

I wonder who these people who don't know they're on TV think he is? A parent?

Either that or a cop.

I bet all those guys now wish it was a cop or a parent.
