An ER Doc friend (and coworker) of mine, and my wife, knows the ER Doc guy. Thank god that sick focker is 2000 miles away.

Word.. I think the most heartbreaking moment in the whole episode was when the dude asked the Rabbi, "have you ever done this before?" And he first says 'no' really quickly, then the reporter urges, "Really?" And he doesn't say a word... but the look on his face... ugh...

Before that I fount it kind of hilarious, but then it turned kinda depressing and disgusting. I guess i knew at the back of my head that it actually happens - why else would they do the show - but actually seeing the guy recall the time... or multiple times... he molested 13 year olds??? Wow.

kneijst1 12-19-05 09:48 AM

Unfortunately, I didn't catch the follow up episode. Also, I live in the same area as I lot of these f**ed up people, and if you go on craigslist in the DC area, there are tons of links to the 29 year olds myspace account (and I think they said he was on yahoo personals too, but he supposedly took that down too). There's a lot of sick f*cks out there. I know when I watched this show, I wanted to invite some of these guys to my house, where I would be waiting with a baseball bat, not a camera. :)

riley_dude 12-19-05 12:06 PM

I watched this. I couldnt believe that one guy, after being humiliated, went back and did it again and they caught him on camera for a second time. His reaction, oh, I was just going to get something to eat at McDonalds.

Nope.

Marijuana and chicks*** J-walking tickets are too important.

I could see a 13 y.o. getting online and trying to hook up with a high school or college age person maybe, but a 40-50 y.o.? You'd think this whole thing would set up red flags to the offenders. Although, they are already messed up in the head so maybe not.

You raise an interesting point.

Assuming the predators come out and say they're 40 or 50 years old, I'm shocked that ANY 13-14 year old would ever want to have sex with them. I remember when I was 16 and thinking I'd never go on a date with anyone over 25. You know, the "eww, he's OOOLLLLDDDD" factor?

Go to Jail and Never Get Out! I want to help, and it someone can tell me how that would be wonderful!? I will try to devote most of my time when I am not working. Thank you so much and have a great day.

It would probably be the biggest help if you just didn't molest any children.

I just saw a commercial for a part 3 of this. It is going to be on this Friday.

I gotta hand it to Dateline. They've had some decent shows recently. The original of this along with the Stupid Students one were very interesting.

movieking 01-30-06 06:00 AM

Part three? I saw the first two, so I guess I will try to watch this.

Trelach24 01-30-06 06:13 AM

I can't even imagine being a parent and watching this show. Because it was in Northern Virginia, some of the guys on the show were from my county in Maryland and that was kind of scary even though I don't have any kids.

Daniel-A 02-04-06 05:21 AM

Today's installment was utterly amazing. I am dumbfounded by what sort of idiots there are out there. 3 arrests in 6 minutes? More than 2 people still going in after they see someone being arrested as they pull up? Bloody ridiculous.

I think they are really on to something, though. I know that not every police department has the resources to do this nor the pull - as I suspect Dateline contributed to both - but it would be marvelous if this could be done weekly if not daily. They don't need to have an episode a day, but the stings would be a huge improvement. It may actually be able to disuade the perverts out there.

I can't believe some of the people. The teacher who went back to school within a week of getting arrested. The perv from homeland security. The various numbskulls on probation or already on the sex offender list.

ChrisKnudsen 02-04-06 05:35 AM

I don't think its bad if its consensual and if they are 13 or over. I really don't. When I was that age, I knew better and most kids do. If they want to bang a 40 year old, go for it.

That's a horrible thought to have, but I wouldn't share it with anyone. I hope you never have kids, because I doubt you'd be ok with your 13 year old daughter doing it. Why 13? 12 is only a year off, 10 is only 2.

movieking 02-04-06 08:46 AM

Totally forgot about this. Hope it will be replayed sometime.

Phil L. 02-04-06 09:45 AM

That show was freakin unbelievable last night! The sickos were showing up 2 and 3 at a clip. -eek- They even had guys who
Spoiler:
would pull up to the house, see cops arresting another perv in the driveway, and STILL walk in to meet the 'kid'.
Unreal.

That woman who stated that she believed that you could lock these guys up for 5 years, and an hour after being released they would probably head right back to a computer to attempt to communicate with, and meet up with children for sexual purposes is absolutely correct. I don't think these guys are capable of being rehabilitated.

The high school teacher also creeped me out, and I bet there are TONS of guys like that teaching in schools. Next to director of a youth choir, it's the perfect job for kid touchers.

OldBoy 02-04-06 11:00 PM

i was so upset and tense throughout the whole show. i teared up so many times i lost count. i am in education and simply cannot believe these people are out there and even more upset that they go unnoticed by so many.

thank god for a show like "Dateline" and unbelievable reporting by Chris Hansen, so calm and collected and asking exactly what should be asked of these less than human beings. i just hope the enforcement agencies take note and start these stings everywhere and start them soon. this is a disease and like AIDS and Cancer it unfortunately seems to be growing by leaps and bounds.

Coming up another installment of To Catch a Predator, number 4 in the series.
Wednesday, April 26, 9 p.m
"The Creeps, the Cameras, The Cops"
"Millions of our kids are online, but how do you keep them out of danger? Dateline’s unprecedented look at Internet predators is back. Find out how to keep your children from becoming a target... and watch as the men get an unexpected date with Dateline!"

Looks like Chris Hansen will be back asking that same old question once again: "What are you doing here"

TheMovieman 04-25-06 08:58 PM

Unfortunately it's on at the same time as Lost... Guess I'll either record it or wait for it to rerun this weekend.

zekeburger1979 04-25-06 09:38 PM

On the episode Wednesday, one of the predators is a elementary school teacher. Yikes.

mike7162 04-25-06 09:47 PM

I don't know which is worse(yes, I do) - that there are enough preverts out there to warrant 4 installments, or NBC's crass exploitation of it.
ChrisKnudsen, I hope you're kidding.

Looks like that won't be a problem as Lost is a clip show episode tonight.

Well, that makes the choice easier...

I saw a "mini spot" for this this morning on the TODAY show. Basically this version was set up in a small town in Ohio. A 19 year old actress from the town types in front of a webcam, claiming she is 15 and home alone.

The few people they showed this morning were just nuts... one guy walked a LONG way with a 12 pack of beer and 12 Mike's Hard Lemonades. Claimed they were all for him.

The 6th grade teacher drove three hours to get to the house. Said he saw a previous installment and was thinking "That is so sick." Yet here he is himself doing the SAME damn thing. -ohbfrank-

I'm in.
