Mikalah has to go. She's been disappointing the past 3 weeks or so. Tonight was just very painful to watch. With her gone, next week should be a better show.

Patman 03-22-05 11:11 PM

Is Scott a Black-abe?

Carrie was incredible, though.

I have always been impressed w Scott's voice, my phone gives him votes every week.

I am voting for:
2 - Carrie
3 -
4 -
5 -
10 -

I cannot remember which number goes with which performer.

Charlie Goose 03-22-05 11:24 PM

Mikalah is likely to go tomorrow, but I think Nadia was terrible tonight. Of course, Randy and Paula both kissed her ass even though neither could praise her performance with a straight face.

My least favorite of the entire group is Nikko.

Things got a little weird when it looked like Bo wanted to save time in a bottle with the guitarist who was sitting on stage.

I think it was in Breakin'.

Just heard on the news that "an error" occured during the voting. The wrong voting numbers were listed on the wrong contestants. So they're gonna replay tonight's show tomorrow (Vote tomorrow) and Thursday will be the elimination show.

Hmph.

Since they had an entire day to get the names/numbers right (The show was taped on Monday) Any REAL reason why this is going down?

Patman 03-23-05 12:44 AM

What a FUBAR!

It smells like a ratings grab by Fox to soak up some viewers from CBS's March Madness on Thursday.

I think it is an attempt to see if the ratings would be good on Thursday. Thursday night is the most profitable night of the week for television (i.e. movie commericals). Because of NCAA tournment on CBS and a fading NBC on Thursday, I think Fox is trying to see if moving AI next year to Wednesday Thursday would be a good move.

Nadia couldn't pull off the Cyndi Lauper vocal, but I gotta give her credit for the mohawk! I thought she sounded ok, but she doesn't have the power required for that song like Carrie and Jessica do.

Anthony didn't do the worst, but he's just painful to watch and I keep hoping he's gone every week. Simon hit the nail on the head with that one. He looks like an idiot when he tries to be sexy. Make him stop!

Mikalah's accent really came through in her singing this time. That's going to kill her. It was all pretty bad except for the very end when she quit trying to belt it out, Taylor Dayne style.

rkndkn 03-23-05 01:45 AM

I spent quite a bit of time tonight voting for Constantine and Bo, as usual. Then I come on the internet and find out it was all for NOTHING? Our phone lines are still open for goodness sakes!

Shannon Nutt 03-23-05 04:30 AM

Error in the vote? Or was Fox unhappy with the results they got?

BTW, I wan't to thank Constantine for assuring "I Think That I Love You" WON'T be resurrected as a hit. :)

Yeah, that excuse doesn't even make any sense because even if there was a switchup they still have the tallies and they know what numbers they assigned to whom on the air.

Groucho 03-23-05 06:17 AM

Anybody have this Tivo'ed still and can spell out what the mixup was?

Josh-da-man 03-23-05 07:28 AM

I recorded it because I couldn't watch it live, and they did fuck up the numbers.

At the end, when they were running down the phone numbers, they got them mixed up on-screen.

It looked like this:

MIKALAH
1-866-IDOLS-09
1-866-43657-01

ANWAR
1-866-IDOLS-10
1-866-43657-02

JESSICA
1-866-IDOLS-11
1-866-43657-03

Josh-da-man 03-23-05 07:31 AM

I can't say I blame them for re-doing the voting. If either Mikalah, Anwar, or Jessica got eliminated, they'd have a pretty good case that the voting was unfair.

I don't think it had much of an effect on the outcome, but if Mikalah does get the boot this week as anticipated... it would look dodgy.

The mistake, as I understand it, is that they showed different numbers for the people at the end than at the beginning. I don't know the specifics, but for example - Carrie was #2 at the beginning, and at the end they might have shown #6 (again, I don't know exactly what happened). So you can see why that would be a problem. One person would be getting votes on two different numbers thus causing a big booboo and throwing everything out of whack.

Edit: OK, Josh spelled it out as I typed this. :)

The audience's swooning over every song is also ridiculous. I don't expect them to boo and I know there are many family members in the crowd, but I could go up on stage with my crappy voice and sing Mary Had a Little Lamb and would probably receive a standing ovation.

This has been going on since the first season but I can see how irritating it could become to be to watching this charade all the time.

Unbelievable! Well it is the Fox network after all.

 I agree, there is just something about him I dont like. I think Mikalah will go though. She hasnt been very good the past couple of weeks. Really they should just boot everyone off and let Carrie and Bo go at it the next few weeks.

SMB-IL 03-23-05 08:05 AM

For those that care, "Life on a Stick" begins Thursday night after the AI results show.

This statement just makes no sense to me at all assuming that "horrendous" is worse than "bad". Mikalah was off key the entire song, Anthony was not. Mikalah stood still with a vacant stare, Anthony moved around (dorky, but he moved).

I just don't get the hate for Anthony here.

Well, I just heard during the news on Howard Stern that it is now going to be all-new performances tonight. They are completely throwing out last nights show.

gettinbranded 03-23-05 10:04 AM

The voting for the last three singers got screwed up, so everyone gets a do-over, a re-vote.

The Fox network, which features “American Idol,” said on its Web site that it would not tabulate the phone calls from last night. It also changed its plans for tonight’s show, which was scheduled to announce the latest contestant to be forced off from the program--based on who gets the fewest votes. Instead, the network said, it will broadcast a one-hour show tonight and will then allow viewers to vote again. That episode will have new programming as well as encore performances from the 11 remaining contestants.

Results will be announced on a special show Thursday.
Screwy.
