I thought Carrie won the night, but EVERYONE did well, save Mikalah and Nadia.

Ranked in best to worst:

Very very good:
Carrie - started out a little shaky, but brought it home and sent chills up and down my spine.
Jessica - did her best to channel Kelly Clarkson with her song. Good wrap-up to the show.

Very good:
Anthony - overall, competent, good song choice, stayed on pitch, sounded comfortably natural.
Nikko - owned the stage, but I still don't like that high pitch timbre to his voice.

Good:
Bo - a bit boring, but I think he was coasting with this one.
Vonzell - for what it was, it was entertaining, but still left me with a 'so what' feeling
Anwar - not a good song choice, I never felt that he commited to the song.
Constantine - for a simple song, I guess he did okay, just didn't go anywhere.

Not-so-good:
Nadia - horrible song choice, couldn't save it with the performance.
Scott - he sings too hard (i.e. tries to hard)
Mikalah - sang horribly under pitch, and got a little shouty.

I was disappointed by Nadia and I thought Anthony and Mikalah were terrible.

Man, if Jessica could lose about 20 pounds she'd be a pretty good looking chick. That double chin needs to go!

Mikalah was bad, true. But Anthony was horrendous.

I think they did a Behind the Music special for Heart on VH-1. Whatever it was that I saw, I remember them talking about this horrible music video they did and how they both hated every moment of making it. I'd bet anything it's the one Paula Abdul said she worked on with them :lol:

Great show tonight! I believe this truly is the best group yet. Last week must have been nerves. All but Mikalah have great singing voices. She is probably gone (and should be). Don't be surprised if Nadia is in the bottom 3 though (and should be after tonight's performance).

Since just about everyone did so well and some of the worst (Nadia, Mikalah) have a pretty passionate fan base, we may be in for our 1st surprise exit since Judd a few weeks back. Nikko maybe? Nadia maybe? Probably not but its possible. I'm betting the votes are pretty evenly distributed tonight which makes for a potential upset. Still Mikalah as the only truly awful performance tonight should lead to her exit but you never know with this show.

AI Season 4 is Carrie's to win or loose.

I hope it is between Bo and Carrie at the end, now that would great contrasting styles.

Overall, very strong performances tonight. A big BIG step up from last week. I thought Carrie brought the house down. She's very strong. I knew from her first couple of notes she was on her game. Like Simon said... the women are not necessarily on their way out like everyone initially thought.

Side question - Was that Chaka Khan song "Ain't Nobody" in a movie somewhere? It's ringing a bell like I've heard it in a movie but I can't find any info on it.

Is Fox going to rerun this before tomorrow night? I missed the show...

I guess I can live with watching 5 or 10 second clips tomorrow, but I'd like to see more, especially what Nikko sounded like.

Paula's buffoonery and the audience reaction is making this show very difficult for me to watch. Paula's dancing during the performances, her parroting whatever Randy says, her inane comments and her always interrupting Simon is tired. I know that this is her shtick, but enough already. The audience's swooning over every song is also ridiculous. I don't expect them to boo and I know there are many family members in the crowd, but I could go up on stage with my crappy voice and sing Mary Had a Little Lamb and would probably receive a standing ovation. I am in complete agreement with Patman on his ranking this week.

My girl Carrie finally came through with a great performance.

Bo coasted and it was pretty dull. I literally almost fell asleep.

Nadia - WTF? Oh, and it sucked, too.

Anthony - he should quit the competition and be a Christian singer...he's almost as cheesy as Clay Aiken.

Mikaylah....blech. Go away, shrew!

Jessica - I diodn't care for her song as much as the judges did

Nikko - not too bad.

Constantine - meh.

Vonzell - safe and boring - not a challenge at all.

Anwar - dull, but he's safe this week - unless Mikaylah's groupies help her out.

So I guess I was the only one who thought Carrie's back-up singer sounded better than her, huh?

I think I'm the only one, but I've been consistently impressed with Scott Savol. Maybe it's just that I like the contrast between what he sounds like and what he LOOKS like he should sound like.

Carrie was incredible, though.
