I just realized Jesse's mom was Kelly, Craig T. Nelson's daughter, on Coach.

I still don't know why I'm watching this. I guess I'm just waiting for it to finally pick up, but it hasn't.

I'm still tuning in. I haven't this week's episode yet, but last week was actually pretty darn good. It juxtaposed flashbacks and current polotlines pretty nicely.

I am. Still watching Apprentice but have been taping each week and I have been pleasantly (punny) surprised. Still need to watch last nights episode.

Is this show still on? FOX hasn't canceled it yet?

I don't think the show is terrible but it's certainly mediocre. To think they cancelled Tru Calling for it. Damn Fox.

Yup!

FOX should put up an online poll for us to vote on which one stays and which one goes, but I'm sure its too late for Tru.

I know this show was co-created by Marti Noxon, but it clearly lacks ...
With so many creative forces involved on a project, it's always difficult to assess where the primary strengths and faults are; but looking at her writing as a whole and having read numerous interviews with her, I've felt for a while now that Marti Noxon was not one of the more positive creative forces on Buffy. She did some good work, but there's a lot of crap on her resume, even moreso when ostensibly in control. Having spent wasted the afternoon getting caught up on this series only solidifies that opinion for me. Six hours later, I throw up my hands with a resounding "meh".

I do like Marti Noxon but her strength isn't as a primary creative force. She's at her best as a member of an ensemble creative group that has a strong point person, ala Joss Whedon and Buffy. When she was at the wheel on Buffy, with Joss spending a massive amount of time on the Once More With Feeling episode of Buffy and to a lesser extent Angel, the show pretty much jumped the shark. Season Six of Buffy has never felt quite right to me. It's almost like someone trying to imitate a Buffyverse series and not add to it or extend it. For all it's faults, season seven of Buffy feels like Buffy and I attribute that to Whedon's increased time with the show.

Marti Noxon's Point Pleasant

(With all due respect to the Joss Whedon's threads)

http://www.scifi.com/scifiwire2005/i...ory=0&id=30601

I added the spoiler tag around the description of the show, just in case someone has absolutely no clue what the show is about.

Point Fate Not Pleasant?

Marti Noxon, executive producer of Fox's struggling supernatural series Point Pleasant, told SCI FI Wire that she and the writing staff are crafting a season finale that will provide a sense of closure in part because she doubts the show will get picked up for a second season. The finale will leave some threads dangling, but will also wrap things up for fans who tuned in to all 13 episodes. "I'm pretty much counting on not coming back," Noxon said in an interview. "Our numbers make [Fox's quickly canceled series] North Shore look like a hit. That sucks, but I've gotten past the pain."

Point Pleasant stars Elisabeth Harnois as Christina Nickson,
Spoiler:
the teenage daughter of the devil and a mortal woman, whose presence in the town of Point Pleasant, N.J., kicks off the ultimate battle between the forces of good and evil.

"The only thing that kills me is that I feel like the show got a lot better as we found what worked and what didn't work," Noxon (Buffy the Vampire Slayer) said. "You go through this process and see results, and you're already dead, which is hard. And we are plotting the finale so that it will be satisfying if we get canceled. But it's also a big fat cliffhanger so we can continue the second season in my backyard sock puppet theater." Point Pleasant airs Thursdays at 9 p.m. ET/PT.
I haven't been watching this show, but I've got all the episodes until now. I was planning on watching them later. Not so sure if it's worth my time between this and the reviews.

Come on, you know Marti! She played "Parking Ticket Woman" in the musical episode of Buffy the Vampire Slayer. You might remember her singing the line "Hey I'm not wearing underwear!"

I wouldn't. I was more than willing to give this thing a chance and was very interested to get some more perspective on Noxon's abilities at the helm after Buffy's detached 6th season. All my fears proved true. This show is lacking in so many ways that unless you have some compelling reason to do so, I wouldn't bother with it.

Agree with das, it's pretty awful. Probably sounded like a good idea on paper, but there's absolutely nothing interesting about it.

And yet Elizabeth Harnois gets cuter each and every episode. I know, I need help.

Marti? The woman who ruined the last two seasons of Buffy????

I didnt watch it for two reasons. First because of the bad reviews and secondly because shows like this (Miracles anyone) usually don't make it and I am tired of getting into a show just to have it cancelled. sort of like Wonderfalls.

Last ep I watched was the dance marathon, then I gave up.
It was obvious the show was not going to be around long enough to get anywhere.

I feel like I'm forced to watch this. It's so bad, but considering I like the premise, Ben Edlund's one of the writers, and it has a girl who looks and sounds like a young Mary Louise Parker, I'm going to watch it as long as it's on.

This show has no chance. I still watch it every week, but commented recently to my fiancee that I'm probably the only person in America still tuning in. I still say it has potential, but it's definately missing something- it's hard to give a crap about any of the characters. I do see improvement week t week, but the the only reason I'm still watching is habit. I've seen so much already, I might as well finish it off. I'm glad Noxon's doing to provide some closure in the last episode, at least.

I don't know that the suckage of this series can be laid at Noxon's feet.

A lot of it just smacked of Fox wanting another OC. From what little I watched, it came off like just another teen soap and the supernatual/horror elements never seemed to go far enough. Too preppie, too yuppie, and not enough horror and quirks.

No, my wife and I still tune in, though it's probably #15 on my Tivo list. Would not be crushed if it ws cancelled, but I find it interesting enough to watch.
