Well, we're now roughly 3/4 of the way through...

And yes, it does indeed suck.

I'm recording it so I can watch Alias.

You guys aren't giving me a warm fuzzy about it.

Yeah, I dunno. I really wanted to like this show, but I just haven't been hooked yet. I will give it another couple of episodes before deciding if I stop watching it or not.

I watched about half the episode and quit. It's not very interesting, especially after watching Lost.

My wife fell asleep 15 minutes into it. I walked out after 10 minutes. Not good.

If John Doe can make it 1 full season, I'm sure this will too.

I don't know why they can't just bring back Tru Calling rather than bring in new shows.

What's the dad from? I know he was in the first season of 24, but I just saw him in something else quite recently.

I had a season pass set up for this, but after reading the review in USA Today I cancelled it.

There's some potential here, but I think they're blowing it. First of all, the characters are mostly dull. The teens are just generic teen soap stereotypes. The bitch, the bitch's nice guy boyfriend, the nice girl, etc. I didn't even care for the devil's daughter, and she's supposed to be the one we're REALLY invested in, as the whole premise revolves around her. There were some touches of personality in the older characters, especially the Melrose Place guy, but they were mostly all in the background for this (so far).

I know they were trying to merge a teen soap type show (like The O.C. or Dawson's Creek) with a supernatural/horror type show, but they ended up with the lesser of both genres. The soap type stuff sucks because the characters suck, and the horror stuff just isn't scary or menacing.

The upcoming footage looks pretty damn cool, though, so I'll watch it for a bit longer... but unfortunately I'm not getting my hopes too high.

The pilot was pretty dull, but I will stick with this for awhile. It almost has to be good, with the writing staff they have.

I watched the first half and couldn't take any more. God, it was awful.

Obnoxiously bourgeois crap, where everyone lives in a big, immaculate house, has the perfect haircut and fashionable clothes. Christ on a badger, I hate that shit.

I hated all of the characters and actors, with the exception of Aubrey Dollar as Judy. The rest of it was just painful to watch. Elisabeth Harnois has no presence whatsoever, it's like they picked her from a headshot without an audition because she "looked right." (To pull out another BTVS comparison, they were incredibly lucky to get Sarah Michelle Gellar for the role, because she could actually make you believe that she carried the weight of the world on her tiny shoulders.)

The concept is intriguing, but the execution is so poor as to be unsalvageable. I don't think I'll stick around for more.

And... New Jersey????

New Jersey doesn't seem scary.

And a show like this should take place in a fictional city. If they want to call the place Point Pleasant, fine. But to tie it to a real-world place sort of limits the supernatural potential of the show.

haven't watched it yet, but those planning to stick around for episode #2: be aware that it airs TONIGHT, and not next week.

Well I did record it last night on TIVO, and I guess I will try and give it a shot, but damn pretty harsh so far here. This is the least amount of tv shows I think I have ever watched and I was hoping this would give me something to watch.

i dont think it was that bad...... tonight looks alittle promising......

i mean some parts were cheesy but the rest was ok...... the whole point of the story is she is evil and she can make people and things turn evil....

looks promising.....

the guy from Melrose Place looks like a cool addition.... someone who influences her(taking that from the previews of tonights episode)

Glad to hear that the show sucks. Serves FOX right for canning Tru Calling.

The problem with Point Pleasant by watching last night episode is that there's no originality to it. It all feel too cliched. Even the supernatural theme, seems that they lifted from other shows/movies. Plus the acting by all of the teens including the daughter of "Satan" feels wooden.

I think I'll pass on this show.

I thought the pilot was pretty decent. THe show has promise that it's not living up to YET...but keep in mind that was just the PILOT episode...the show can only go uphill from here and I think tonights episode and next weeks are really gonna tell the tale on this one.... I'm sticking with it for now... plus, the chicks are hot :P

ABC moved into the lead at 9 p.m. with "Alias," 8.7/13. "The King of Queens" and "Center of the Universe" averaged 7.6/11 for CBS, beating the 7.3/11 for "The West Wing" on NBC. The premiere of "Point Pleasant" on FOX, 7.0/11, lost more than half the "Idol" audience, but that's not out of line with what other shows have done in the post-"AI" slot. UPN's "Kevin Hill" and The WB's "Big Man on Campus" tied for fifth.

I bailed. It just wasn't interesting. I almost gave up at 30 minutes and then figured I should give it more of a shot. 10 minutes more was all I could muster.

Yes, I realize its the pilot, but there were three other drama pilots this season that had me instantly hooked by the end of the first commercial break (Lost, Veronica Mars, House) and I wanted to keep watching. I forced myself not to change the channel at every single commercial break of this one.
