I can't believe I've just about caught up (even with going through season 6 twice with the TBS reruns) and will slide right on into Wednesday night's finale.
That Katie Holmes is just so adorable.

Tonight should be good, especially w/ the return of Kevin Williamson to close out the series.

How sad am I to be watching last week's episode after work today in anticipation for tonight's series finale? I have now watched all 6 season's worth of Dawson's Creek over the course of this month courtesy of TBS and my ReplayTV.

God, this show is depressing tonight.

Having wept our way through a roll of toilet paper, my wife and I have decided that the only way to follow-up the finale is to spend several minutes vigorously pounding our thumbs with a hammer...

I'm a grown man.
I turn 29 in 2 days.
And I just spent 2 hours crying watching a TV show

This has nothing to do with Dawson's Creek. Not a fan. Watched maybe an ep or two under heavy duress.. [threat of forced celibacy is a powerful thing people]
That said, I was flipping through the channels during a commercial break during the Yanks/Angels game and caught the very end of this ep. IMO I have to say it was very classy for WB to thank the show. Hell, look what FOX did to Married With Children..
Other than that...glad you guys/girls enjoyed it. The local WB is going to have a segment on it. Apparently they had a "finale party" in NYC...and it seems that not a lot of people agree with the very end...

Wasn't there a rumor going around a while ago that the Dad on Dawson's Creek got offed because he dated a (male) character in real-life? I could never find out anything about it, but it was very intriguing.

Though I am not particularly happy w/ the ending, I have to admit that this finale was excellent. And I cried like a baby and I am not ashamed to admit it either. I figured Jenn was going to be the one to die, but I hoped until the end Joey would end up w/ Dawson.
The best part of the finale was Kerr Smith - that was the best acting he has ever done to my recollection. He was excellent and made the show that much more enjoyable and depressing. Everyone did a great job, but Kerr was "en fuego", imo. Michelle Williams did a decent job, but I started to lose it when she was filming the video for her baby and then when Grams said that she would see her soon - oh brother, that just made things worse.
Pacey and Joey's moment in the Icehouse after the funeral was very well done and so was Dawson and Joey's final "soulmate" moment. Katie Holmes actually came across very sincere during these sequences, particularly the later.
The funniest line was "the triangle has just become a square" by Dawson. That gave me a much-needed chuckle amidst all of the drama.
This was definitely one of the better finale's that I can remember. It was a top notch conclusion to a good show. It was definitely a rollercoaster of emotions, though it leaned to the depressing side a little too much. Kerr Smith's performance was the best out of the bunch.

Excellent finale. Jen's scenes were heartbreaking, in particular the taping of the message to her daughter and the scene with her and Pacey. I to got a little teary eyed when Grams told Jen she'd see her soon.
I thought Andie was supposed to be back?

I started watching Dawson's Creek in the first season, when I was a high schooler with dreams of becoming a filmmaker. Back then, I realted to Dawson quite well, and Creek was the first show that I had ever started watching from the very beginning.
I stopped watching sometime towards the end of season two or the beginning of season three, thinking that it got a bit too dramatic. I don't know all of the sub stories that have occured in the past many years.. no clue about Eva, no clue that Mitch died, and frankly, I have forgotten a lot of the details. (The name Brooks sounds very familiar, but I don't remember who he was.)
I happened to catch the last 90 minutes of the finale.. and I must say, I wish I had more time to start watching from the beginning again. During this episode, I found myself missing the Creek writing and acting style, and now that I really don't have time to be watching much television, I remembered how good it felt back in high school to sit down and watch some sappy teen TV.
Couldn't decide tonight between American Idol, Creek, or West Wing (which is another show that just caught my eye, and of course, have no time to watch). Dawson and the gang won. I loved the emotion throughout the episode, especially in the end.
Now I have to catch up on all that I missed!

look what FOX did to Married With Children..
I thought the VERY exact same thing. Anyways.....
Wonderful finale ep. Even though pretty much predicatble.
Just wish this ep aired last year, and we did not have to
suffer thru a very miss and occasional hit season
of episodes.
Michelle Williams will always be my Fav, even
on a very bad hair day/year.

What Joey said about her and Dawson was right, even though they are "soul mates", the passion between them isn't the same sort of passion that Pacey and Joey felt between them. The bond between Joey and Dawson is that everlasting platonic bond of love that comes from sharing the formative years together as basically siblings, not romantic interests.
I'm fine with Joey picking Pacey because for her, it was the right choice. It was the right choice for Dawson and Pacey as well.
Having Dougie finally come out of the closet after Pacey mocking him for 6 seasons was both cruel, and sort of expected given that long amount of setup.
I was expecting to see the Joey-Pacey kiss at Jen's funeral (the promos show both of them wearing black attire, so I figured it was at the funeral), but the actual show never gave us Jen's funeral, instead, it just skipped past it and got to the resolution of Joey/Pacey/Dawson, and Jack/Dougie.
There were quite a few tearjerker moments in this series finale. The scene where Grams whispers to Jen that she'll see her soon was heartbreaking. The scene where Jack makes Jen realize that they were each other's soul mates was also poignant. The video that Jen made for her daughter Amy was also very touching.
It was pretty obvious that Joey foreshadowed the same type of relationship was headed for Alexander and Lily in season 5, but to see Alexander climbing up the ladder was probably too much (way to go, Kevin Williamson, nice subtlety with the repeated cycles of friendship and love in Capeside).
Too bad we don't get to see Dawson get hooked up to someone (besides the meet with Spielberg), but regardless of the name of the show, it was always about a girl, and her romantic choices. I guess I just hate the idea that Dawson might just end up single for the rest of his life.

i can not stand Pacey. but joey got what she deserves, she will never be happy with pacey, pacey will be cheating on her in three months. women always go for the loser so the ending was realistic. pacey he had really changed, whats was he doing a week before screwing around with a married woman. Pacey is a guy who talks sweet then screws you over so good luck joey. I'm sorry but i am a little annoyed this morning. i wasted my time watching this show believing the whole time joey and dawson were soul mates meant to be together to only findout that they are soulmates but she is going to be with pacey. DUMB DUMB DUMB DUMB other than that the show was good

Good episode though.
