Never trust internet rumors

Although I was hoping Joey and Dawson would end up together (kind of like how I wanted Kevin Arnold and Winnie Cooper to be together), I think the show worked better with her choosing Pacey. It's not more realistic because she chose Pacey, but it's more realistic that she didn't choose Dawson. It was very bittersweet when Joey and Pacey watched the Creek show.

Here's my take on the future:
1. Dawson's show will do well, but he will long for the respect of being a film artist.
2. Spielberg will ask Dawson to do re-writes for his latest project; this will allow Dawson to write movie screenplays.
3. Because of his writing, Dawson will get a chance to direct.
4. Dawson will put out the definitive study on Spielberg in the form of an interview book (kind of like the Truffaut/Hitchcock book).
5. Dawson will stay friends with Joey, but they won't be as close.
6. Dawson's film career with allow him to get alot of first-rate poontang; he will eventually settle down with an actress.

Anyway, I really enjoyed this show. I didn't watch every episode after the first 2 seasons, but I would watch it once it a while to see what the characters were up to. Unfortunately, I missed a lot of season 4 and I missed quite a few episodes this season. But I'll always love the references to Pauline Kael (Mr. Brooks gave him a copy of "Kiss Kiss, Bang Bang"). I'm also glad Dawson grew as a film watcher, moving from Spielberg and Hollywood to -- yikes -- Jean-Luc Godard!! Does anyone know if there were any Fassbinder or Almodovar references?

We thought the episode would have been funny if they were flying around in hover-cars or being waited on by robots.

Finally watched the series finale and I thought it was heartbreaking. I wish they hadn't had Jen die - didn't want the series to end on a sad note.

The Dawson-Joey-Pacey triangle played out rather nicely and I am glad that Joey chose Pacey.

It was a nice line when Joey told Dawson he got to live twice, by writing...nice touch.

I too shed a tear or two during this finale - was a sad show and it was sad knowing this was the end.

It's been a fun 6 years!

I've been taping them and watching them. I'm only up to episode 5, but so far I've been impressed. My biggest problem with what I'd seen before was that none of the characters were likable, but they were actually likable in the beginning. Also, I forgot Mike White was involved with the first 2 seasons. I'm eager to see the episodes he wrote.

I enjoyed the final show being an occasional watcher. Since I think Jen is a self-righteous, hypocritical, mean-spirited, bitch I was glad she was the one who died. Plus Jen deserved to die for the "Little Dutch Boy" haircut in and of itself. As I have been watching the first eps on TBS I am struck by how in the later years Jen became Joey and vice versa. In the first season Joey was the anti-Dawson. Then she became nicer. Jen got progressively nastier.

I managed to avoid this show for its entire original run... now it's on TBS during the day - two episodes in a row - and I find myself watching it daily. Should I be ashamed?

Katie 'herpe-lips' Holmes? Not really interested in that, but I've always hated the show and refused to get sucked into it for many reasons - now all of a sudden, I'm a sucker for it and can't stop watching. :/

No. My wife would watch it during it's initial run. I would sit there and make fun of it. Then I got sucked in and it became must see tv for me. I own the first four seasons on DVD, and I'm not ashamed.

When TBS started rerunning them a few years ago, I recorded them and watched the episode all in a row up to season 4, I think, and it was good viewing for the first 2 seasons, while season 3 was so-so, and then season 4 was okay, and season 5 got a little too out there to keep Dawson around the Creek.

how many seasons were there? What season is TBS showing now? I find the current stuff more palatable than the early seasons when they were 15.

Having said that, I believe it was 6, with the first season being around 13 eps as it premiered back in 98 when Buffy moved nights.

I too watched it through most of its first run. I think I managed to see every episode, but I did have periods where I stopped watching.
Overall a good show, but I'm still pissed at how it ended. Solid finale - especially since it had become Katie's Creek by the end - but I would have prefered it to end another way.

Personally, I enjoyed season 5 a lot. I thought it had a lot of things going for it and the characters were meshing very well as they were driven by good stories. Unfortunately season 6 came along - I'm not sure if it was new writers or what.

My wife got me into it too, and I've been going through the seasons one episode/week at a time, and now we're at season 4. Last Monday we got to the episode where



And lo and behold, Buster from Arrested Development is in this one, playing a doctor! We laughed our asses off when he appeared, because it felt like the actor, Tony Hale, was playing Buster pretending to be a doctor.

No..because you get to look at various hot chicks..monica keena..that eve chick in season 2...not to mention katie holmes and michelle williams.

Its a wierd show in the sense that I hated it, but I could not stop watching it when it was on. Maybe it has some kind of wierd subliminal message in it, because I watched this damn show from the first to last season, and never really enjoyed it at all.

ok - TBS has started from the beginning... 2eps back to back per day. Yesterday was the end of the series - now I get to see it from the beginning... joy.

Holy shit - Abby died today and came back as a ghost... Jen got kicked out of her house by her Grams... Dawson and Joey are back together... Joey's dad got out of jail and she finally visited her mother's grave. All of this on the heels of Jack coming 'out'. This is compelling melodrama... I take back all the negative bile I spewed at this show before.

Just wait until Pacey kills Abby's ghost. That episode was a tear jerker.

gah... don't spoil it for me.

The 2nd season finale is absolutely brutal.
