Good ep from what I saw, the power went out in the middle for 15 minutes.
How did she figure out the guy she was looking for was a woman?

That's a shame about your power going out.

I didn't think I could love this show any more than I do, but this episode was my favorite of the season so far.
Naturally, ABC's on the verge of giving it the axe.

Maybe if they moved it and put it on before or after Alias. Syd and Karen would be a pretty good team IMO.
P.S. I too am falling more in love with Ms. Gugino each week. It would be wrong for ABC to take her from me before I can really get our relationship going.

I thought it was on "hiatus" until sometime this spring. But maybe I read that wrong. All I know is I am pissed it's going to be taken from us just when it's getting better and better. Strange way for ABC to deal with a show that's struggling ratings-wise.

Wow...this will be the fourth drama that I decided to watch regularly this year to be cancelled (cmon, will it really suceed coming back 4 months later when most of its audience has left?). I dont know if I should blame the networks involved or Law and Order, since Im sure L&Os ratings have been responsible for the deaths of all of these shows.

ABC Affirms Commitment to 'Karen Sisco'...
...but they are probably making changes.
LOS ANGELES (Zap2it.com) - Network presidents don't like to admit mistakes, particularly to the people whose job it is to dissect their every move. Yet ABC's Susan Lyne found herself in that position Monday (Nov. 24).
The subject of her fessing up was "Karen Sisco," which failed to pick up an audience at 10 p.m. Wednesdays this fall and has been shelved until March. Lyne professes to love the show and has no regrets about putting it on the air, but allows that it didn't work in its timeslot.
"It hurts me to acknowledge the fact that you [critics] told us that we put it in the wrong spot, and that seems to be the case," says Lyne, president of entertainment at ABC. "But we're not going to give up on it."
"I told her it was the wrong spot, too, by the way," ABC Chairman Lloyd Braun jokes.
Between now and March, Lyne says "Karen Sisco" will undergo some minor changes aimed at addressing some criticisms of the show, which earned mostly positive reviews. Karen (Carla Gugino) will remain a tough, no-nonsense federal marshal, and her relationship with her private-eye dad (Robert Forster) will still be prominent.
"But there are things we can do to make the show even more compelling," Lyne says. "I think people expected more suspense in the show, and they expected villains or bad guys who were maybe a little bit more dangerous. They often seemed more hapless than anything else. These are all things that are relatively easy for us to address."
The network hasn't nailed down "Sisco's" new timeslot, but Lyne says "you can probably guess where we're going to try this out."
Okay, we'll guess: The most logical place for the remaining six episodes of "Karen Sisco" would be on Sunday nights, either in the "Alias" timeslot -- where viewers are already accustomed to seeing a strong heroine -- or in that of "The Practice," which follows "Alias" and would create a two-hour block of ass-kicking women to end the week.
Wherever the show lands, it will likely take the place of repeats of another series, Braun says. The network also wants to get the thumbs-up from the series getting bumped.
"We don't want to do anything without everyone being enthusiastic about it," Lyne says.

I know people love this show, and I hate The Rat as much as the next guy (if not more), but let's give ABC some credit this year (and the end of last year) ... they're really trying.

Hapless villains are a staple of Elmore Leonard's work. If they bring in some sort of all-powerful drug cartel or some nonsense like that, this will turn into Law and Order: Federal Agent. They'll kill this show trying to "save" it.

Taking out the hapless villains would really undermine Elmore Leonard's spirit, but then again, Leonard doesn't exactly appeal to mass audiences anyway. As long as they don't replace or remove my beloved Carla, I will be happy.
If they want stronger villains, why not have some crossovers with those from Alias? Syd and Karen would make a great team for both the network and on the air, and we could finally get that repressed lesbian instinct label we all want.
...okay, I know it's tacky, but if ABC thought it would grab ratings, they would try it in a heartbeat.

Karen Sisco questions...
Karen Sisco will begin re-airing in a few weeks. I missed the first episodes that aired in the fall - even though it was my intention to TiVo them! My question is this: is the show going to be easy to pick up without seeing the beginning of the series? I mean are the episodes mostly stand-alone or are they all tied together like Alias? Any insight would be greatly appreciated!
