And I predict hotness from Russell/Cindy... well, Cindy, the former supermodel, at least. She has kind of an ET neck, though. And weren't Russell & Cindy the names of the pastor duo on TAR2?

After a several month absence, I'm baccckkkk...
If you check my past posting history on the TV Talk on this forum, I'm the one who did the weekly polls for Amazing Race 2 and 3 as well as The Mole 2: The Next Betrayal. (For the record, I think The Amazing Race is the second best reality show.)
So, yes, I fully intend on posting a weekly poll for the following episode each week as to which team will arrive last at the pit stop. However, there is a poll going on at another web board, www.dbstalk.com , to see if enough people would be interested in order to do a contest of sorts.
Can't wait for the race to begin!

I never saw the first TAR or TAR2....somehow they passed me by....
but I started watching TAR3 about 1/2 way through it and was hooked immediately. I think it is by far the best reality show and am glad that it is continuing. I have been waiting for a new season! and I am glad that it will be a summer show as now I have at least SOMETHING to watch!

For what it's worth...
Sigh.... I'm running into a slight problem.
The first poll for The Amazing Race will open on the 22nd--one week prior to the broadcast. Because of limitations of DVDTalk's poll, I am limited to ten options. This means that I will have to be slightly creative with the polls.
As far as I can break down:
All Man - Five
All Woman - Two
Man/Woman - Five
I don't know how to break it down besides "Dating/Engaged", "Friends/Co-Workers", and "Married", and even then, the lines blur.
HOWEVER, the question will almost be "Which team will arrive last at the pit stop?", especially since most-but not all-pit stops are elimination.

Possible Spoiler for First Episode
I happened to run across the title of the first episode on tvguide.com
Does anyone else think that title suggests that someone gets caught cheating on the first episode of the show and the first team may be eliminated for that reason and not coming in last for the first leg?
I just started watching TAR last show....has anyone cheated (and got caught) before?
Amazing Race 4
Cheaters Never Win --- And They Cheated!
90 min.
The fourth edition of the race around the world for $1 million begins at Dodger Stadium in Los Angeles, where the 12 teams of two learn their first destination: Milan, Italy. From there, the pairs travel to the Cinque Torri area of the Alps and must choose between searching for an object hidden in the snow or walking across a rope bridge and then riding a zip line between two high peaks. Phil Keoghan is the host.

The twins last year didn't finish the task correctly in the finals and had to go back. And there was a couple before them that did something wrong and were elimimated at the rest stop. But I don't remember any cheaters off hand, from any of the 1st three series. But I could be wrong.

Actually, there were two instances of cheating that resulted in a elimination. Teams have been assessed penalties for not following a task properly (i.e. taking a shortcut instead of the perscribed route), and as a result, they were assessed a penalty of 30 minutes plus any time gained.
The "Harvard Bimbos" were Heather and Eve who took a cab instead of walking to the pit stop. That was in Episode 4 of The Amazing Race 3.
Of course, lets not forget Nancy and Emily from episode 9 of the Amazing Race. They basically gave up after Team Guido got the fast forward and skipped a task, incurring a 24-hour penalty, and thus elimination from the race. The surprise was that Team Guido ended up arriving last (and very late).
And, let not forget that rule that says, "If a car breaks down through no fault of the team or becomes completely inoperable, a replacement car may be given at the team's request. However, no time credit will be given for this unlucky situation."
Which reminds me.... I got to get the poll up for next weeks episode... remember, I run a weekly poll for The Amazing Race to see which team team will get eliminated.... errrr... "arrives last at the pit stop."

But would any of these instances of "cheating" be considered intentional? To be fair, these were all pretty much dumb-yet-honest mistakes, even the Harvard Bimbos (although they still should have been penalized).
Had any team ever knowingly cheated, with the intention of trying to pull a fast one?

I would assume the title, "Cheaters Never Win --- And They Cheated!" will continue the tradition of the episode title being a statement spoken by a participant in that episode. OF course I can't think of any from seasons past, but that's always what it's been. It's fun to see it early and think about who's going to say it and under what conditions. Fun for me at least...
Any word on TAR5 yet???

I think it would be very hard to cheat on TAR because every team has a cameraman (and probably a production assistant) following them to record everything they do.

You are wise Chew, it is great television, the presenter chap Phil leaves a bit to be desired with some of his deliveries.
But you should be good to go with the 1st few episodes as they will tell us many many times what is a fast forward, and what is a pitstop etc.
