I'm sorry, man. I love the image and was about to laugh, but the headshaking guy for some reason struck me as indicating seriousness. My apologies, brother. I thought Donald would have died in the car on the way to Richmond..
Scott's gonna get fucked over the seafood poisoning story, he just make shit up, and the one real story he got was from actually going out and talking to someone.
I can't remember if I'm supposed to know who gave Prop Joe all the stuff about the indictments.
And I'm enjoying Omar's revenge.
Chris is not best pleased with how it ended up playing out.

It looks like the wheels are set in motion for Scott to finally get caught, but given his golden boy status I wonder if this won't just blow back on Gus. Certainly, Gus isn't getting the support he should be.
Given how fast and loose he's playing now it's not looking good for this scheme to work for McNulty. However, it didn't look like he had time to drink in this episode.
Omar revealing himself to Michael was probably a bad idea. He just looked like a broken down man. This whole season feels like a death wish though.
Loved all the stuff with Bunk...and the home stuff with Greggs. And Clay Davis....shit.
Detective Munch....

I'm not watching on-demand.
I got that sense when I saw how pissed off bunk was. There he is doing real police work, although admittedly if McNulty hadn't starting his shit, I don't think Bunk would be doing this, but he is, and he has found another link to Marlo, and is getting closer.

The level of McNulty's genius is incredible. The level of his crazy is equally incredible. I can't believe he's actually putting this plan in motion.

Now lester needs another tap...one that taps the picture messaging on marlows phone...but the judge refuses to tap the reporters phone (which jimmy would give to lester) unless they can SHOW that the killer is changing phones.
SO jimmy sends PICTURE messages of a bum to the reporter from a disposable phone.
Since you cant tap a disposable phone, the judge now orders a new wiretap...so lester gets another tap, and since thier PICTURE messages, the judge will approve a wiretap of PIX messages...which Lester also needs.
So that he doesnt get caught, Jimmy photos a bum who has NO IDEA where he is and drives the guy to DC so no-one in Baltimore can say
"Hey, isnt that the bum from the killers last pix message shitting in that mailbox?"
To cover his tracks, Jimmy takes the bums ID that says Baltimore away and gives him one that says Cleveland, so no one will ever bring him back to Baltimore

For those interested the latest issue or Esquire (Ah-nuld on the cover) has an essay by David Simon about his time at The Sun.
Simon must hold some contempt for The Kansas City Star because he's had it mentioned by Scott and then Scott was wearing a t-shirt with their name in this episode. That guy must currently be there or have come from there or something. Don't piss off David Simon if you are a paper. I really like Gus' character. It would have been interesting to have him throughout the series. Can you imagine his take on Hamsterdam?!?

I felt bad for the homeless dude. He obviously loved Baltimore, or at least recognized it as his home.
Poor Randy. At least his life has hardened him up. It still angers me that the one that deserved the worst life is sitting pretty up in the county.
Chris and Snoop, especially Chris, are bad asses. If Chris is the one to get Omar I won't be upset.

Can't believe there are only 3 episodes left. Season 5 hasn't quite measured up to the brilliance of season 4, but it's still the best show on television. Noticed that Clark Johnson will be directing the last episode. That's a nice piece of symmetry.

Looks like the stage is set. In classic Wire fashion, everything is falling apart.
McNulty is getting more and more careless (If the news puts out photos of the handicapped man, won't someone in DC's facilities recognize him? What are all the top brass going to say when they find out he's been pawning off all the hours they're giving him?)
Templeton is just asking to get caught with his over-zealous writing style and outright fabrications.
Omar is getting sloppy. His quest for vengeance is blinding him to that fact. All he wants is blood, and Michael was right. If Omar recognized him from the ambush, he'd be another body in the morgue, or worse!
Carcetti upcoming run for governor is distracting him from serious issues in the city, and he's going back on all the promises made before he got elected. Granted, Royce left him a hell of a mess to clean up, but he really should have taken the money the current Maryland governor offered him.
For all the sins committed in this show, Clay Davis seems to be the only one who will get away clean.
As for the positives:
Greggs and IKEA products, classic!
Templeton's face when he speaks to the 'killer.'
Freamon at a loss (for once) as to what the photos mean.
I will not be watching any more 'Next Week on The Wire' previews. I wanna go in completely fresh for the last batch of episodes.

Shiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiyet. Clay is untouchable.
Bubbs was great as always.
Loved the Munch cameo... has that character appeared on more shows than any other at this point? Are they going for the record?
Anyone else think that Freamon is going to show up at Prezbo's classroom looking for some of the ol' Roland-the-puzzle-solver?
And hey, even if McNutty gets caught, he'd have a hell of a book deal and a national pulpit from which to decry the corruption and highlight the lengths a cop had to go to so that he could work his case.

Scott is funny, esp when McNutty asked him if he sounded the same as he did the first time.
Yes, no yes, maybe. I have no idea how McNulty and Lester will back down from this, at what point do they stop working it? and with all the national coverage this is receiving surely the homeless guy has his pic all over the news..
And its amazing to see the far reaching impact, in so much that it's draining city funds, and could mean teacher layoffs.
