From what I've seen, and I believe I watched the show using the same methods described above, save Season 4 which I saved up on My Tivo.

I'd rank them

S1
S4
S3
S2

And I don't mind less mcnutty at all

This season is easily the best of the 4 with Season 3 coming up right behind.

I like seasons 1 and 3 more than 2 and 4.

BTW, Michael K. Williams (Omar) and Julito McCullum (Namond) were both on SVU last night.

The Wire - "Misgivings" - 11/19/06

"Misgivings"
Spoiler:
Acting on Clay Davis's advice, Burrell seeks to burnish his reputation by ordering the department to double the number of street arrests. The mandate does not sit well with McNulty, who sets his sights instead on cracking a string of church robberies. Later, Davis shows he can play both sides of the political fence by making Carcetti an offer with long-term benefits for both. As the weather turns cold, school officials turn up the heat in Prez's classroom, and make it clear to Colvin that there are no exceptions to certain rules. After being apprehended, interrogated and released, Kevin is advised by Bodie to come clean about the incident to Marlo. Betrayed again by Herc, Bubbles decides to get even with the unwitting help of a local minister. Busted by Carver, Namond spends the night in the precinct, then is released to Colvin's home, where he proves, surprisingly, an exemplary guest. Donut's latest joyride ends badly; Randy is stigmatized at school; Chris takes care of Michael's problem.

My thoughts
Awesome ep

Damn, Chris beat the fuck out of that guy, I take it he was abused as a child as well.

Herc getting pwn3d by Bubs

Should be interesting how Carcetti plays Clay Davis. Loved Norman’s shiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiit

Good to see Callie Thorne

Ive seen the entire season I like it but damn wish it wouldn't ......ah damn it. Ill just say best damn cop show on tv, the writing in this series is insanely good. I mean its so mellow , simple and so damn good you can't not watch it unfold.

Only thing I miss this season is the gang being broke up so much really.

That ending was so tense with Michael walking thru the house drinking, but a huge weight has been lifted.

Naymond's mom is a piece of work. wtf! And yeah clearly Chris was either abused, or raped in prison, although I don't see who would mess with him.

I love every actor in this show, they are so well cast, and its amazing.

I liked Bubs getting his revenge too, but I'm getting fearful that things won't end well for him with him getting the brush-off from Herc and Kima.

I was glad to see Herc get shit on as he is a poor cop that makes poor choices with misplaced priorities.

The scene w/ Michael's father, Chris, & Snoop is yet another example of HBO invest you in characters and can make one sympathetic towards criminals.

The Wire - "A New Day" - 11/26/06

"A New Day"
Spoiler:
After flexing his muscles around the city, Carcetti faces his first dilemma when a group of ministers protests Herc's mistreatment of one of their own. Later, the mayor reverses Burrell's mass-arrest mandate, but Burrell still has some cards left to play. Michael and the boys enact an elaborate revenge plot on a mean cop, Officer Walker. Namond makes a leap of faith; Randy gets the cold shoulder at school; Dukie gets a bump; Colvin fights for the future of his class experiment. Pearlman and Daniels raise the curtain on "a new day" in Homicide, to the detectives' delight. Rawls passes the ball to Daniels on the Herc situation, urging the new Colonel to "do the right thing." Later, Daniels resurrects the Major Crimes unit, and returns Freamon to the detail room with new authority and freedom. Reunited with Sherrod, the Bubbles depot rides again, but the good times don't last. An irate Prez confronts Carver for putting Randy in danger, but learns that Herc was at fault for not delivering the boy to Bunk. Omar and Reynaldo pay a menacing visit to Proposition Joe, with their own proposition. Freamon has a revelation at a crime scene that promises to blow the lid off an unsolved mystery.

My thoughts

Another great episode

Lester gets his unit back and figures out where the bodies are.

Herc is still a dumbfuck.

Prop Joe’s speech about noting wanting to get back in the grave was well done.

The Wire - Ep 35 Season 3 "Reformation"

I've been catching up on the Wire and have now seen seasons 1 - 3.
What an amazing series.

Was watching the 3rd to last episode of season 3 and noticed something I missed on my first viewing,

In the scene in the gay bar, where bowties lackey is looking for leads on Omar... when he leaves the bar, for a split second you can make out one of the other patrons in the bar. Did I see Deputy Commissioner William A. Rawls!!!

I haven't seen any of season 4 yet so I'm not sure if this is explored in a future episode. I've checked out the scene multiple times. Looks like John Doman to me...

Why would they end the show there, I want to see what happens when Bunk and Lester find the bodies in the Vacants.. I liked bunk telling lester that he scared him. Herc the fuckup is trying to make up for his errors.

Rawls finally realises that Cedric will be in charge! Great stuff, loved the scene with Omar and Prop Joe.

Fantastic ep. Nice touch of lester leaving the special crimes office and turning the light back on. Daniels may be in for a rough time of it, as now both Rawls and Burrell see him as a threat.

i wonder what daniel's big secret is that they've hinted at since the first season

were all four boys involved in the payback on officer walker? it seemed like namond drew the straw to be the gunholder (michael gave him the bandana) but while the thing was going down i only saw 3 boys and i think michael had the bandana... did namond chicken out or did i just miss him when the whole thing was going down?

I don't think the new mayor is going to like Lester's subpoenas any more than the previous regime did.

Liked Prez sticking up for Randy, even though he seemed hesitant to actually go into the building. Glad to see Carver follow though too.

Don't think Jay was buying all the "New Day" stuff either.

I always figured it had to do with taking money but I would like to know as well. It is amazing just how good this show is.
