Man I love this show and can't wait for next week. Intersting to see Bunk dressed down, I too thought he was born in Pin stripes.
Man its amazing how dumb the cops can be the dock cops blowing the cover for Russel. I've got to give Frank credit, he's smarter than he looks. The funny thing is as dirty as he is he seems to be doing it all for loyalty and the union and not spending it on himself as the Greek recommended he do. An intersting set of ethics if you will.
I still don't get what the heck Ziggy was doing with the duck at the bar. seems too much like a set up for a joke. I expected the thing to drop of alcohol poisoning but it seems to hold its liquor better than Jimmy or Bunk.

and it was an interesting conversation Frank had with his older brother. His brother seemed bothered that Frank had "greased the wheels" of politicians for the union.

In my mind Frank is doing it all for the Union. It is like he could care less about all the money that is coming in. I was expecting the girl from the resturant to have her parents calling her down for breakfast. It kind of reminded me of the part in trainspotting with the young girl. I still say best show on TV right now.

I gotta agree with the fact that each episode is on par or better than the previous one. However, my dislike of Ziggy grows stronger with each passing episode. I really wish Maui had taken care of him right then and there.
Bunk is great "kiss my ass"

Its funny how things work out sometimes. When Frank realized his phone may be tapped and he sent out the wrong shipping container I figured it would be bad for the Detail. But actually it works out for them in the long run. When he shipped out the wrong container that store owner got pissed and called the Greek. Now the Detail has the Greeks number.

They never got caught last season, did they? They F'ed up one time when the bag ripped in the trunk, but they were straight foreward about it.
at the name Fuzzy Dunlop.

True dat
, Ziggy needs to go. His diregard for money, burning the $100 a few weeks age, tossing the pile of cash out of the truck this week and his little pisant behavior. Got to wonder if the guy is acting or if he's just playing himself. A bit too believeable.

Ziggy needs to be taken out in some appropriately grizzly fashion.

I loved McNulty's reference to Captain Chesapeake. Local Baltimore reference most people probably wouldn't get...

What? No thread on this yet? Are we starting to lose interest in this program? I thought it was another good episode, but very complicated. So many characters, but everything is tying together real nice.
Hmmm, McNulty and those 2 girls. Maybe he didn't put up enough of a fight and maybe he went too far. That could screw up the investigation if the higher ups want to inquire more about it.
But like was said before, this show ends too soon. I could easily watch a 90 minute episode of this every week, there is so much going on. I don't think there has been a more complicated, but satisfying program on the air before. It is so much more complicated than last year. Last year it was only the drug dealers, this year it's them, plus the dock works and the Greeks. Yikes!

Valchek is totally going to f' the investigation by limiting the scope to Sobotka. The female DA's line in that meeting summed up the whole season so far, "The case is bigger now" (or something like that)

Poor Herc and Carver, they get no respect.
That was an amazing bit of report writing by McNulty, I wonder, did he surrender his weapon at any time during the sting?
Daniels, "It's not like they're going to flush the ho's," (just as they're going to breach the cathouse doors)
This show's writing is on (or should I say "spot on"). With the negative twists and turns this show had this weeks for the cops and the crooks I can't wait to see how it wraps.

Another great episode. A lot unfolding can't wait to see the Strigner/ Avon story line blow up. I don't expect they'll both be standing when/ if Avon finds out Stringer did his cousin and set up the new distribution he's gona get hurt.
McNulty is great, a classic screw up "what they had me outnumbered" Intersting to see him fake his own accent too.
I can't wait to see what the heck Ziggy is up to with the cars. The whole sunroof and boards thing has me a bit intrigued. But Is still want to see him suffer before he goes.
For all their cleverness Frank and Nick are going to see some jail time it'll be intersting to see who goes down with them in the end.
There is so much below the surface in this show. It was just last Friday when I re-watched the last episdode that I put together the name Fuzzy Dunlop.
(For anyone still missing it, thats the brand of tennis ball they used for the bug.)

I love Bunk at the bust:
Madam: "What do you want?"
Bunk: "To lock your ass up."

Going to be interesting to see how the Greek's move to punish the Colombians impacts Nick. Doesn't look good.

The next show looks to be intense, everything seems to be building up. What I don't get is the whole crack sting that got set up by the Greek. I thought they had already delivered the product to the Colombians, who were refusing to pay them after the fact. Was the paint dye shipment the same one that Nick had stolen before?
Valchek and Ziggy really need to be caught in the middle of a gunfight. Nick should have punched Ziggy's lights out outside the
bar.
Id also like to see how Brother Mouzone fits into all this...next week should be very interesting...

I have very little to say becasue I'm still in complete shock.
Ziggy?
Pres?!
Holy crap.
Three more episodes left, I wish I could say I knew where this was going.
Frikkin amazing. Screw the emmy's, they should check out the wire. No one tells a story more involved than Dave Simon. Damn. Once again, I'm in awe.

Actually there are on two weeks left.
The opening was, without a doubt, the finest opening of any show I've ever seen. Johnny Cash + The Wire = wicked cool. Just to see Prez move the case info over to a SECOND board proves the scope of this season's case. And how fitting were the two words Prez had to sum it all up--"F'n a" Perfect!

While the Emmys may have shut out "The Wire," HBO has recognized the series in its own way: renewing it for another season.
The news comes as the series draws to its second season conclusion on August 24. Executive producers David Simon and Robert F. Colesberry are already working on storylines for the show's third go around, which is expected to kick off next summer.
While specifics about the new season are still under wraps, the pair did confirm novelist and screenwriter Richard Price ("Samaritan," "Clockers") is on board to write some episodes next season. Price follows in the shoes of best-selling crime writer George Pelecanos who wrote for the series this season.
"The Wire" has hit its highest ratings to date this season, averaging roughly 4 million viewers each week.

Wow, glad to hear its comming back for another season. I'm totally hooked on this show.
This show is heading for a melt down finale. I can't wait to see if its a train wreck or a slam dunk, I have a feeling given that real life isn't neat the ending won't be either.
I was really hoping Ziggy was going to turn the gun on himself, (Nick when hasn't he been a time when Ziggy was a F@#$ up?) In the end I think he'll be taking a few more people down with him as part of a plea.
Man the brother from NY is a bad ass. I can see how he got his rep. It'll be intersting to see him go up against Omar.
Can't wait until next week or the next season. With HBO the waiting is always the hardest part.

Have a question and I'm not good with character names.
I watched the last two episodes just yesterday and the TiVo cut out a minute early on the 08-03 episode. That episode ended with the well-dressed bow-tied guy showing up. Was there anything beyond his looking at the low-risers?
