Usually, in this context, and building is multi-storied.

I didn't write this, but found it amusing:

Regarding Teri:

First draft of the script had her managing to loosen her bonds and then wrestle with Nina and escape.

Then the actress said she might want to renegotiate her contract.

Second draft had Nina shoot Teri, but Teri barely survived.

Then the actress informed FOX how much money she wanted for next season.

Final draft: Teri's dead.

I thought it was sneaky of Fox to keep showing the alternate ending in the promo ads where she was obviously using Teri as an unwilling hostage.

I'm telling you people. . . DON'T ASSUME SHE IS DEAD!!! I could easily see a bunch of medics running into the room and reviving her during minute one of next season. While I agree she PROBABLY is dead, I wouldn't place a bet on it.

And I did love it when JOBU told his wife to get lost. He didn't just leave her. He actually told her "I never want to see you again". OUCH!!!

im also glad there was this little reminder "Due to some violent content, viewer discresion is advised." that meant of course lots of people would get killed!!

I thought the finale was really good. It was violent (right below the neck on Hopper was sweet) and unpredictable.

I'm glad Nina lived.

I'm glad Teri died just because people actually don't make it dangerous situations as most television would us believe.

When Jack turned Teri over and she was bleeding I thought I missed something with her and Nina earlier.

--I wasn't all that psyched about that season finale except for the fact that it was the last episode. Meaning I thought the last 8 or 10 episodes were boring filler.

On the other hand, the first half of the season was truly captivating.

The show also is not gonna be perfect. You can't do everything on 24 that shows on HBO do.

Frankly, considering how much money was spent promoting the show and how expensive it probably was to shoot, we're lucky 24 is coming back at all. With the low ratings, it would've been canceled on any other network.

But putting up against Frasier, Blue and The Guardian was just dumb. They shouldn't have expected a lot with that kind of competition. (also Smallville).

Am I the only one who thinks that Sunday night in the X-Files spot would be a great place for 24??

I know Alias is there but Fox could have back that night in my opinion.

But I believe FOX will have Malcom on at 9/8 and just two straight hours of sitcoms from Simpsons on through.

Now I'm beginning to wonder why Teri went into that particular room at all? It's not like it was a big room or one that was easily accessible. How did Teri know to go into that small room off to the side anyway?

p.s.: I hope Fox doesn't put 24 against Alias, I wouldn't want to miss either one.

Someone over in the HTF thread brought up an interesting idea: maybe Nina is working for a secret European mercenary group, maybe called "The Alliance"..........

And what the hell happened to Mandy?

WOW!!!!

well i just watched my tape from last night and i can echo many of the things already said here. absolutely incredible. first the ending...i am still in a little shock that they actually killed teri. true, she got really annoying the last half but i don't know that she deserved what she got (kevin puts on the flame retardant suit). i honestly was shocked when nina left and didn't shoot her but then when jack found i was even more shocked that she was actually dead. will they bring her back next season? who knows. maybe this was their version of a cliffhanger. if they do, i agree that it will lessen the impact of the ending.

i cannot wait for the dvd of this and i really hope that they choose to include all 3 alternate endings as supplemental material. my guess is that they had one where everybody lives, one where everybody dies, and one like this where one of jack's family bought it.

i will be excited to see next year, a single president palmer helping jack to figure out who nina was working for. i think that will be the way that they bring her back, as a prisoner who is giving information to help jack, for maybe a reduced sentence?

i was overjoyed that palmer told off his wife. i knew when mike said the secret service would be there that she was history. i am just surprised that she didnt pick up on it either.

with the exception of teri, they have really set this up well for next year. jack uses information from nina to help get revenge on the people she was working for while palmer is in the white house, helping jack out while lady mcpalmer is scheming to get back at her husband after he cut her loose. as for kim, who knows how they will set her up, but it will be interesting to see what happens. bring on next season!!!!!

Palmer and Jack were consistently good throughout the season. I had many problems with the show, but none were really related to those characters or the performances. Anyway, with regard to that scene, I particularly like the way he told her off. It wasn't so much that he disliked her or didn't want to be her husband (factors, of course), but that he didn't think she should be First Lady of our nation. That scene was very well written.

on the dvd's, i want a commentary track so we can try to look for suspecious acitons, and also to have it out before season 2.

I would.

Click on Teri Bauer's name and read the description of events for the last hour of the show. Also read the description of events for Jack Bauer.

She's dead, Jim. Er. Ethan.

I came across this article

http://www.sun-sentinel.com/entertai...tertainment-tv

which includes information on the season 2 storyline/timeline so hence the spoiler tag.

Spoiler:
Exec Producer Howard Gordon gave this away when he laid out his blueprint for the second season. Subject to network tinkering, it calls for the story to pick up a year later, with now President Palmer again the target of would-be assassins and Jack enlisted to foil them. "This will allow us to keep all of the things that make the show unique and compelling," Gordon said.

In addition to most of the cast -- there could be some deaths tonight -- this includes the inventive real-time clock, with each episode covering one hour during a momentous day.

I kinda hope not. It seems a bit contrived to
Spoiler:
have another season pretty much based on the same concept of an assassination plot.

I don't see the problem, we already spent 24 hours on this topic, why not spend 48?

Agreed, I still think they would be better off going w/ a whole new cast of characters/themes...

Agreed. Not to mention that Palmer almost assuredly wouldn't win the election after leaving his wife.

Not so sure about that, though Jack's support staff could change with no problem. I thought each episode being a day in the life of CTU would have been passable - but I could see where that would make it no more special than any other cop show. Keeping the 24 hour format makes the show special and retains a hook for viewers.

I don't know about that. Maybe the public got a feeling she was a total bitch. I still say off her and make him the grieving widower...

Well, it takes a whole year to sort through the mess but Jack comes out on top with President Palmer's support..... how's that?
