Well if they really did film 3 alternate endings, some of you may still be right about your predictions
Then again they might have just said they filmed alternate endings to throw us off in case it got leaked.
I guess we'll find out for sure if and when they release the Season One Dvd Set.

Man, you know what 24 really needs next year? A filler show to bridge the gap between the 2 seasons. Have 25 episodes of 24 next year, with the first one the filler show. Put the filler on before the baseball playoffs & World Series, and then start the full season in November.

According to this article from Cnn.com, Kiefer did three voiceover (loops) for the ending. I thought there would be more than just voiceovers for the alternate possible endings. Oh well.

NEW YORK (AP) -- What fun we all could have had with "24" -- especially now, with its conclusion.
In the tradition of "Survivor" mania, all of us might have been hashing out every clue, plot twist and potential outcome as this serial thriller speeds toward its finale Tuesday at 9 p.m. EDT on Fox.
Will CIA agent Jack Bauer save his daughter from the clutches of the Serbian terrorists?
Will presidential candidate David Palmer avoid disaster after two assassination attempts and the deceptions of his scheming wife?
Will Nina Myers, Jack's fellow agent and supposed defender, get what she deserves for covertly plotting against him?
Will Jack, after 24 hours of helter-skelter peril, get some shut-eye?
MORE STORIES
'24': Great, but impossible?
These, and questions like them, should have been on everybody's lips. After 23 episodes that tracked in real time, hour by hour, what Bauer calls "the longest day of my life," it would have been fun to share the end of "24" communally.
That's the way some TV experts thought "24" might grip the nation's consciousness. Fresh and ambitious in its concept -- which wed scripted drama with reality TV's seeming spontaneity -- "24" was forecast as a likely hit, even a craze.
Competing against real life
Then obstacles arose. For one thing, it was pitted against ABC's "NYPD Blue," NBC's "Frasier," the WB's "Smallville" and CBS' hot new drama, "The Guardian." It may also have suffered from a late start -- its first episode (covering midnight to 1 a.m.) aired November 6.
But maybe undermining "24" more than anything was September 11.
Already stricken for real by the unexplainable, many viewers may have looked askance at any TV show designed to keep them in the dark for months. The hopped-up sense of dread that ensnares "24" may have struck many viewers not as sleek escapism, but as an echo of their own altered world.
Familiar rhythms are absent from "24." There is never a break. No sleep, no awakening. No fade-ins or fade-outs. Just the fearsome rush of time, often flashing on the screen like a digital compulsion.
As a wild ride, "24" has been a resounding success, even if the things that make it right seemed wrong to some viewers after September 11. It surely isn't comfort-food TV.
Indeed, the series got off to a particularly uncomfortable start when, on its first episode, a terrorist blew up the jetliner in which she had been a passenger after parachuting to safety.
In that first hour, "24" set spinning its four spheres of action:
Bauer (played by Kiefer Sutherland). Initially brought in to save Palmer's life, he has divided his time between chasing bad guys and escaping from them.
The Los Angeles operations center, where, in a shocker last week, his trusted associate and former lover Nina (Sarah Clarke) was revealed to us as a mole named Yelena.
The band of terrorists, who, besides playing cat-and-mouse with Jack, also have a habit of abducting Jack's wife and teen-age daughter (Leslie Hope and Elisha Cuthbert), then managing to let them get away.
The hotel headquarters of Palmer (Dennis Haysbert), a shoo-in for president who's in town for California's primary.
This multistrand narrative is told in a multiscreen display and linked by the cell phones clapped to everyone's ear. "24" unfolds in gunfire and bitstreams, populated with dozens of characters, of which only five -- oops, make that four after last week -- still seem worthy of our trust: Jack, wife Teri, daughter Kim and Palmer.
'It's not a cliffhanger'
Now the end (11 p.m. to midnight) is in sight.
"The day will be over, the story will come to an end -- it's not a cliffhanger," pledges Sutherland. "It's a hard ending, but I think it will be satisfying on a lot of different levels."
Not that even he knew how it comes out until two weeks ago.
"Various endings were being considered, and when we started shooting, I said, 'Look, which one are we committing to?' And they said, 'We think this one.' But I looped (did voiceovers for) three different endings."
After the end? "24" still won't be over. Despite its 89th-place ranking this season, it was renewed last week by Fox.
"I expect that next year it will start in a really, really strong way," Sutherland says.
By then, more viewers might be ready.

Nina is a bad woman! I can't believe she knocked off Teri, but I loved it! I didn't anticipate that at all.
I am pleased with how they set it up for next season, Jack on a vengence to find out who Nina works for. So many possibilities.
I love this show!! Outstanding ending to what was the only show that kept me watching this season.
Kiefer is as good as I've seen him since Freeway.

Holy. Crap.
I believe the Greeks call that catharsis, folks.
Through the first half of the show, I was like, "AAAAARGH! Nina! AAAAAAAARGH! Lady MacPalmer!"
The show progresses... Bauer thinks his daughter is dead, and breaks down... he was equally great as a grieving father, and with his "game face" on. "Two-Gun" Bauer kicks some ass and finishes the male Drazens (I was cheering when he drove the van through the wall).
Lady MacPalmer gets poetic justice (anyone notice how she wasn't fazed when Palmer says "You've lost touch with what it is to be a mother... a friend... a wife"... but as soon as he says, "I don't think you're fit to be the First Lady"... WHAMMO! That's when she reacts.).
Bauer finds out Kim is actually okay and that Nina's the mole (did anyone freak out when she looked right at the camera with that stare of death? I did! I did!).
Everything progressing as planned... everyone getting their just reward... and then Nina gets the call to eliminate all things that can tie her to Germany. This is where the show slipped me a mickey. She says she's going to lock Teri up, and I'm thinking "Yeah, she SAYS she's gonna lock Teri up, but she's just gonna execute her." Nina leaves, no Teri death scene... I think, "She had mercy on Teri? Even though she was supposed to kill her? The hell? Well... it doesn't make sense, because Nina's a cold blooded wench... but okay, I'll buy it. Gotta have a happy ending, right?"
Jack intercepts and busts Nina... Jack reunited with Kim (happy music plays!)... and it's like, alright, happy ending! Everyone's getting what they deserve... Jack goes to find Teri.... and oh my gosh. Just when you think the happy music is about to play again... WHAMMO.
Amazing ending. I did not think they (Fox) had the guts to kill Teri. Bravo, Fox.
For those of you that didn't like Teri... why not? Okay, she may have pulled a stupid about getting out of the car to look to see if the terrorists were still after her, and the whole amnesia plotline was... lacking... but Teri (the character) and Leslie Hope (the actor) were, I thought, both outstanding. They ran the gamut of emotions, from superstrong to extremely vulnerable, and Leslie Hope did it very believably. Kudos to all involved with the show.
Except Dennis Hopper. Geez. That accent. You're kidding me, right?

OK, first of all, I gotta say, WOW!! HOLY ****ING ****! THAT WAS A GREAT EPISODE! Thank God for TIVO 'cuz I am so totally gonna watch it again.
Sarah Clarke did a great job as Nina. She looked so totally evil when she looked up at the camera.
Those people who think Nina didn't have the guts to finish her off (including me), guess you were proved wrong. That's the most refreshing thing I've seen in a long time; usually everything just ends up hunky-dory, but this show just takes it to the limit and beyond.
It was great that they didn't prolong the Drazen shootout (I hate those cliched 20 minute long shootouts). Jack gets shot, gets lucky when Drazen runs out of bullets, pumps Drazen so full of holes it'll take years to recover the bullets out of his body! Un****ingbelievable!
I said it before and I'll say it again, Leslie Hope is a great actress. Just judging from the way she makes all the people here feel about her character shows exactly how much she puts into the show. I'm glad Teri is dead, not because Leslie Hope isn't a good actress, but because it makes the show seem that much more real and that much more believable. Who knows, maybe she'll be back in a prequel episode or flashback or something.
I think Tony might be the 3rd mole inside CTU, and from the looks he was giving Nina, I might not be totally off. There's always the next season.
Senator Palmer..... you put the smackdown on Lady Macbeth! That was hardcore! I loved how he just goes ballistic on her for leaking the info to the press. And he knows just how to use the Secret Service to his advantage.
Finally, how is this show 89th in the ratings? It should be in the top 5!

Woweee. That was some tough ending. I'm a little upset, but SO glad we didn't get the "Let's all go home" that we all were expecting. It took great guts to run that ending on a show that gets criminally low ratings. I hope it gets some Emmy recognition so people start to pay attention (I can root for 24 unconditionally this year, as The Sopranos won't be eligible). Can't wait to see what they have up their sleeve for next year.
And the previous poster was right about Hopper's accent. I haven't heard an accent that unconvincing on Fox since we met Homer's identical double, Guy Incognito.
Does Gap really think they'll sell many clothes by running the Dennis Hopper ad every week on 24?
My wife informs me that the woman who plays Nina (boooo!) is marrying another cast member (booo!
). Anyone know who that is? Tony?

I've never been happier to be wrong than I am now about my predictions. Well I wouldn't have minded being right about having Mrs. Palmer die, but him leaving was almost as good.
That. Episode. Ruled.
I kept wondering why Nina would leave Terri alive if she wasn't going to use her for a hostage. She didn't.
They answered the question as to why a single mother would kill herself when it would put her child in an even worse position than if she just got caught. She didn't.

Outstanding episode.
But what made it even better were the final three seconds....the silent countdown to 12 midnight from 11:59:57.
We have become so used to hearing the mechanical ticking of the clock that the silence was deafening.
WOW
Can't wait for the next 24 episodes....

hehe, this was damn cool. very suprising they offed Terri, but I figured one major character would die. The Palmer thing w/ his wife was fantastic. The slow walk away was badass. I liked how they had Nina reporting to someone else, that way they can devote next season to finding out who it was. Very, very cool season finale.

I was a bit sad that Teri had to die but it just shows how daring the writing was. I mean, man, they killed off a pregnant mom. Now if they bring her back and somehow "save" her in the next season I will be sorely disappointed.
I'm glad though that Jack filled Victor full of lead. I thought, "Oh no, now their both gonna be out of bullets." That accent by Hopper was so bad from the get-go and kept getting worse. I was almost expecting him to say in his last dying breath, "I vill see vou vin vell" or something like that.

wow... i loved this episode. Anyone else find humor in the debates going on at the 24 message board and elsewhere over whether or not Teri's actually dead? Does anyone here think she's still alive? There seems to be some massive outcry going on about Teri dying... fans feel cheated that a central character who went through so much would die so abruptly at the end of one episode just because she had bad timing and walked in on nina speaking german. I really hope nothing stupid happens next season to explain how Teri survived the execution. She's clearly dead... no explanation needed. The last scene made it VERY obvious that Teri is dead. If public pressure changes that over the summer, I will be extremely pissed off. Kudos to Fox and the writers for an excellent episode. They didn't fill in all the holes regarding Nina's eratic behavior, but they definitely set it up for the holes to be filled in next season. And I can hardly wait.

Well, glad you guys loved it. I, however, found it laughably bad.
Let's see ...
First you need a shootout, but see, check this out ... Drazen's out of bullets! Genius!
Good thing Nina mugged for the camera in the interrogation room. Also, it's a good thing no one ever thought to look at the archives until now. Thank God Jack figured that out at the last possible second. I'm sure every time an agent dies in the CTU office, they just accept what happened and don't even check the security logs.
The stuff with Terri was crap. Yeah, I'm thrilled that they killed her. Gaines should have killed her earlier, but she was kept alive for obvious reasons. But the ONLY reason Nina kept her alive was to setup the silly ending. Nina should have killed her the instant she showed up, but instead we're treated to a lamefest of misdirection. Why in hell would Nina let her live? Why would she waste her time tying her up and then talk to her comrades on the phone while she listens? The answer: to set up some "shocking" ending. Whatever. And why shoot her in the gut and not in the head? Lame.
Simply killing a major character (even an annoying one) doesn't make great television. I'm glad they did it, but don't confuse what they did with anything gutsy or groundbreaking. Shows have been killing major characters for decades. 24 is just trying to use the death of a major character to distract from the numerous plot contrivances used to drive the show.
Obviously everyone here thinks this is mankind's finest creation (like the original ads claimed it would be), and I'm not trying to crap on your lovefest, but seriously, I thought it was laughable. I did like the scenes with Palmer. And Kiefer did an excellent job all the way through making the absurd actually seem believeable.

That's not to mention the fact one of the stage hands was visible next to Jack in one of the dock scenes (around the 20min mark). He was wearing the police style protective helmet w/ the huge visor. At first I thought the backup arrived until Jack was alone again in the next scene.
Personally I still hope the 2nd season of 24 gets an entirely new cast/story line. This one was fun, but I'd rather see something new...

Drazen has gotten revenge for the death of his wife and daugther from the grave - in much the same was that Jack killed Drazen's kin - unintentionally. Drazen did not know Nina had captured Terri, nor did she know Terri was pregnant. Drazen had one last card he didn't know he had... and Nina used it.
The parallel's between Drazen and Jack's loss is rather perfect. Next season we will likely see Jack driven by the same eagerness for revenge which we saw with the Drazen's - except now it will be focused at Nina's real employers.
I just hope we aren't supposed to start next season THE NEXT DAY! Let people sleep a little, eh?
The clock was cool - this whole episode was (I'm SO grateful the shootout was kept closer to "real time' than "John WOO time"

)!
