Big's office is really nice! Did you see the view from his window, f-ing amazing. Anyway, the ep was ok, i didn't like the first bit with Aidan and the general tone of the episode was just too serious. The only funny part I saw was the part with the Personal shopper. But i'd still give it three and a half stars.

I enjoyed the episode, but it seemed more of a filler. It was nice to see Carrie and Charlotte get things out in the open, and it's always great to see Big and Steve.

I really get annoyed with show's where the money problems of the main character are all neatly tied up by episode's end. Charlotte just handing over the ring as down-payment for Carrie's apartment just screamed "fairy tale" to me. In real life, Carrie would have either completely accepted Big's offer or simply have had to move (heavens no!) outside Manhattan.

Well, it's pretty established that there's a LOT of money between Charlotte, Miranda, and Samantha. In fact, I was surprised when Miranda said she only had half the money. I don't find it odd at all that a good friend would offer to loan her the money. I've done that before (not on that scale). Charlotte needs to help Carrie ... not as much for Carrie's sake but for herself. It works for me. Like Samantha said, good friends don't worry about money. If a friend needs it, you give it. If you need it, you take it. Charlotte's rolling in extra money - no harm in sending some Carrie's way.

I liked how they compared Charlotte's 2.17 Carat ring to her 2.17 Carat Park Avenue Apartment.

The incident with Richard's PA was funny. I am telling you that lady can handle herself. The look on Richard's face when she put on the harry winston bracelet, and read the card, and the love richard bit was classic. She now regains the upper hand, and I think she will end up with him.

It looks like Miranda will have someone, and also so will Samantha, and Carrie and Charlotte will be solo..

the episode I felt to be very slow pacing.

The money thing is interesting to me, charlotte obviously has a lot. Samantha I think so too.

The whole 100 pairs of shoes at 400 dollars a pair certainly puts things in perspective. I find it a bit hard to believe that she spends the money she does on all kinds of fashion things and only has 1500 dollars. Come on now. 750/month rent. I would have taken Big's money

Sex and the City (2.4.02) [spoilers]

Just got around to watching this episode last night. Overall, I was a little disappointed. It was rather predictable, with a more serious tone than recent episodes. It will be interesting to see what happens with Samantha and Richard though, since they are gonna stick to monogomy.

I enjoyed the episode, the pacing does appear to be slowing down this last couple of episodes.

My favorite thing, was the floral dress Charlotte was wearing I love that dress.

I liked the julian character, but I thought he was going to end up being her father, quite the opposite in fact. There appeared to be a lot of parenting themes running through the episode.

Miranda being a sucky mom, charlotte a perfect one, Carrie's missing dad, and Samantha's tossing out the girl for calling Richard Daddy...

Speaking of how high off the ground was that bed??

I think Richard and Samantha are good for each other, but I don't really see them sticking together.

I like how Samantha refered to steve as one-ball.

I think Carrie's writers are using some of aidan's lines on her, because for some reason her inflection made what she was saying sound like it was coming from Aidan.

Badly Drawn Boy, I couldn't agree more with everything you said, down to Charlotte's flower dress being my favorite part of the show. While the pacing of this show was slow, a LOT happened, so I was pleased overall. Love to see Samantha get some personal growth time.

And can I just say that I DON'T like Carrie's new haircut. I will never understand why short hair is considered cute, when long hair is so fabulous. Depending on the woman, of course, but imho it holds true for many, myself included. I loved her long hair - it was beautiful.

Martha Coolidge directed 2/3 "Sex and the City"?

I noticed (for the first time) this past Sunday the director of "Sex and the City". It was Martha Coolidge this week (2/3). Has she directed other episodes for the show? This is not listed on IMDB.

I noticed this too. I think it was her first Sex and the City directorial effort.

I have to say this was the best episode since season 3 resumed. And it was jam packed with information and insight from Carrie's past. I thought that was done extremely well. I'm very curious how the season finale is going to go! Does anyone know when season 3 is due on DVD?

This is season FOUR. Season Three is Charlotte's meeting and wedding to Trey, Carrie's affair with Big and breakup with Aidan and Big's divorce. Season Three should show up on DVD (judging by the release of 1 and 2) around May of this year.

I enjoyed this episode. Cool backstories from Carrie and some from Miranda. I just realized that we have NEVER met any parents of these four - you'd have thought we'd have met at least Miranda's father at her mother's funeral or Charlotte's parents at her wedding.

I thought it might have been a nice touch to drop Lainey (sp?) into this episode since she was the reason they trucked out to the burbs in season 2 for a baby shower. Good to see Charlotte and Miranda patch things up. It is interesting that Charlotte is systematically finding herself rejoining the group as a single woman on a one-by-one basis. I guess next week is Samantha's turn.

BadlyDrawnBoy - I think the height of the bed was for effect - it WAS pretty funny, especially the second time. We've seen the bed several times and it sits at a rather normal height (the personal shopper just sat down on it in a previous episode).

How WILL this season end? There is usually some sort of jawdropper. Is Miranda going to have her baby or complications that require emergency hospitalization? I didn't watch the preview for it - any theories (please don't spill it if you know)?

Sex and the City

I thought this was a great finale, very touching. One thing is for sure, they are never going to let ANY relationship succeed on that show.

Now it's going to be too long of a wait for season 4 to start and no sight of Season 3 on dvd yet What's a gal to do??

SPOILERS!

Don't read if you don't want to know

Sam was ultimately paranoid that Richard was cheating on her and caught him in bed with another woman. That's the end of them.

Charlotte tried dating again after seeing Trey and his mother in her museum but it ultimately failed after he saw her apartment and how rich she was. They basically just talked about their failed marriages over dinner.

Miranda had her baby and both Steve and Carrie were in the delivery room. The baby's name will be Brady.

Carrie and Big share a romantic evening before he leaves NY for his new wine vineyard in Napa, CA. She contemplates sleeping with him before he leaves but is interrupted by Miranda's pregnancy and the sex does not happen. She returns to his apartment but he is gone, leaving her with a Mancini album and a ticket to come visit him at any time.

You don't have that long to wait for season 4...you just watched it! I think you mean you're waiting for season 5 .

This last episode went way too quick...they severed ties on storylines way too fast. Bring back Aidan!

You mean, we just watched Season 5! It was a bonus season. HBO will shortly be releasing information on 9 new BONUS SEASONS later this year. Each season will be 2 episodes long. You heard it here first. By the end of the year, we'll be anxiously awaiting Season 15.

Hehehe...you're funny . There won't be another "bonus season" until the writers/actors possibly are ready to go on strike again.

If they did that to the Sopranos I think the pitchforks would be headed to HBO .

This was over at darkhorizons.com

Sex and the City: The Movie: Actress Kristin Davis told Aussie NW Magazine about the future fate of the show: "We'll do two more years and then a movie".

What do you all think about a movie featuring Carrie and the gang? As much as I love the show I wonder how well it can be presented as a movie.

What more could be accomplished in a movie? It's not like we want to see the four women jet off somewhere other than NYC. And I have serious doubts that the MPAA would allow even the small snippets of sexuality that we see in the television series on a weekly basis.

I don't think a movie version would work. But then, I, for one, would definitely pay my $9.50 to see if it did.

I agree but maybe they meant a "movie" for the HBO channel, who knows..

You won't have to wait long. Now that the "bonus" part of season four has aired, we can go back to the regualr anual schedule. Season 5 starts in June.

Now the Sopranos, on the other hand, that's a long wait.......

That's pretty much how I feel. There really isn't much more to be gained by doing a movie, other than maybe trying to expose the show to a newer audience. I guess the major issue that I see is how they would go about introducing the cast to those who haven't seen the show. I don't think they would cater it just to those who have been around since the start.
