Why did she get all upset?

Coral said it best when she was on the phone with her friend and she said "You know how I am, once someone gets on my bad side that's it"...she's looking for anything to get mad at him.

May be his friends call him Goofy or something else????

And your right about Coral, she's ok except when she wears that turban/bandana thing. And I noticed her nice rack too

You know, that Turban thing makes her look like a NATION OF ISLAM woman....it would then make sense that she is sooooo hostile to Mike.

EPISODE 4

ok episode 4 -

i still like this show - even after a brief period of stupidity, i think it will hopefully move away (finally!) from this race driven tv show

i just wish mike would grow some balls (and brains) and just tell that ho coral off already. so fickle, so stupid, so ... so ... mmmmm ... boobilicious ... i can see what she's saying but at the same time she's givin the poor guy too much grief

PAUHaHAHhAHAhHA the part where the girls were like "tell us about the panty dropping mike" couldn't stop laughing - and uhhh am i the only one who is beginning to think kevin is a mo?

Yeah, I also liked episode 4. It was pretty funny when Mike was talking about Coral and called her a bitch. The whole panty droppers thing was funny too. Coral just gets mad at every little thing Mike does. Lori and Malik are definitely my favorite people on the show. This episode didn't have much at all of Kevin since I guess they aren't focusing on Kevin-Lori anymore? You know they are gonna hook up eventually and go back to it ... no avoiding it.

I really surprised by the lack of self-awareness these people seem to possess. Don't they know this stuf is going to be broadcast on MTV? Wouldn't you self-edit yourself, even semi-consciously if you were on the show? I guess the screening process is well done, in that they pick people who really don't give a rat's butt how their comments come across to other people. I have to wonder what people like Mike and Coral feel after seeing themselves get edited by MTV in this light. Both Mike and Coral are being stubborn and stupid in their dealings with one another, but you'd think that they would at least be more 'smart' about the whole think.

I still contend that Kevin looks like a young Bill Clinton. But I do think that Kevin has figured out that Lori is just too "easy", present no challenge to him, and so he is not attracted to that aspect of her psychological make-up, and chose to nip it in the bud. At least he's not a user, and dragging Lori in a nasty relationship that would not be good for both of them.

yeah right!?! it seems so weird how they act b/c they're should "know better" - but still i guess it's easy to forget after the first couple of days and what not, but you can bet, i wouldn't be saying that this chick is dumb or that (as in kevin's case) how i really like some girl and so on and so on ...

Patman, you are right..... Coral is too self-righteous to edit herself and Mike is too dumb. The whole squabble was hideous- basically Mike should have owned up that he said a stupid thing, but Coral was no better- she was rude without even knowing them, and she may be down on Mike for what he joked about the chicks, but was she any better by writing them off and being rude right to their faces, and calling them nasty names behind their backs too? She is the worst kind of human being, a smug hypocrite. I wish someone would her in her place. I feel sorry for the poor bastard that has to go out with her, but I’m betting she doesn’t get many dates.

I was shocked when Coral jumped in Mike's arms, and wrapped her legs around him, almost dry-humping him because of the vase/flowers/note he left for the women on Valentine's Day. Maybe Coral secretly has the hots for Mike, and this is her form of foreplay.

Wasn't everyone sad when Mike was asked (via the online chat) if he was lonely, and he answered "yes"?

Did you catch what she said after that? She was faking it. She was totally exagerrating what mike thought her reaction would be. Mike thought she was being sincere, but it was nothing but a cruel act on Corals part. i hate her, god i hate her.

Coral said "I'm lonely" in that little interview room - and I replied "cause you're a bitch". These kids remind me of most kids in general who really haven't been exposed to the real outside world much yet.

Mike - hands the remote control to his mood to Coral, who starts pressing all the buttons immediately. Mike's mood and personality is based externally on other people. He gets sad when Coral rags on him, and he remarked "I felt so good when Coral hugged me". In a few years he won't give a flying crap what people say. Right now, he's easily controllable and allowing himself to be manipulated by others. I was the same at his age

Kevin - just do Lori already, jesus christ. Are you stupid?

Malik - coolest guy there. I love Malik, he'd be one of the nicest friends to hang out with.

Coral - needs to make other people miserable in order to be happy. Tries to show off how superior she is, "I went to the library and you didn't. So there, nanana!". Coral had that big fight with the asian girl in casting, now she's taking out her agressions on Mike. Luckily for her, she found a scapegoat early on.

Fun show so far, but then again I'm a people watcher

Haha! I'll have to review the tape again. If true, I'm starting to warm up to Coral.

Mike's lack of self-awareness is probably why he got on the show. These Real World producers are vicious people. We finally get to see the Nicole flare-up on Kevin. I'm really beginning to detest Nicole, way too close-minded to get far in life. The seating of Coral and Mike at Arista was classic. To see the girls' spirits drop when they found out they have to do work for the rock section of Arista was priceless.

these girls are soooo hypocritical man

so looks like malik will get some booty - but from a white girl. this of course throws nicole up in arms (can't wait to see if coral follows) all while they've been trying to expose mike to black culture. if coral follows nicole's lead, then she can forget her wanna-be black ways too.

It sure was a visa moment when they played the metal band, I was soo happy to see that, and you know it was all setup from the get go. How do we create tension lets have coral reprazent a Rock Band ha ha ha.

Nicole was not very into it in the interview, I think the guys are a bit too overhappy about mike tho'.

Maybe they are right, but who knows, the song itself did not sound too good.

I am hoping Malik gets it together with the blonde from teh club.

Real World X Part 2

The old thread seems to be lost. If someone finds it, I'll close or delete this one.

Anyway, today's episode.

The race stuff was really ridiculous. Basically it was Nicole being a complete bitch. Kevin and Malik handled it as well as you could ask anyone to. It's cool they are such good friends regardless of race. Of course, Nicole thinks that's so wrong.

The actual job wasn't covered that much in this one, seems like it will be in the next one. That'll be good since they all hate rock music except Mike. Rock music rules! hehe

I think it's so funny to learn that Ms. Black Pride happens to be half-white.

After all her lecturing to Malik about how he shouldn't date white women, I wonder if she ever stops to wonder that she wouldn't be here today if her father hadn't dated a white woman?

I think it is very sad for this woman's poor mother-- she seems like has basically denounced any pride over her mother's side of the family by only acknowledging her black half. How sad. If there was a person who was half-black and tried to pass themselves off as being only white, she would be insulting that person for not being proud of their black side.

She should be proud of who she is-- her mere existence is proof that blacks and whites can love each other.

I think Malik will do a lot more to further the cause of race relations than she ever will. He seems much more enlightened on the subject than she is.

What is it with women from Atlanta named "Nicole"? Frst Big Brother 2, and now The Real World.

Real World Nicole is truly pathetic in that she hasn't learned to get rid of that "You don't know where I come from" baggage, and find some new baggage that deals with "where am I going?"

I am glad Malik is looking forward, not backwards.

All that crap about "since we have black ancestry, we should be like brother and sister, while the black/white relationships have to take a back seat of the bus" was just heinous. I really felt bad for Malik to have to deal with this "race-traitor" crap. Nicole is so blind to the world around her, it's just sad and pathetic.

But, for some reason, black women do seem really really touchy about seeing black men dating/marrying white women. That whole "trophy wife jealousy" syndrome at its worst.

When Nicole started that fingers-pointing crap (almost mimicking a "I'm gonna cap yo a$$" gesture)at Kevin, I wished Kevin would have just started laughing at her and mimicking her gestures and really get her riled out and expose her hypocrisy for what it was worth. Her "ghetto-ness" was showing through loudly and proudly, and it a rather unflattering sight.

Well, after what a month of the big dumb white guy making a fool out of himself, it was nice to see thats theres predjudice and misconceptions on the other side too. Had me thinking about something I'd forgotten about that happened to me in high school...

I got in a sore spot when this black guy used to pester/joke around with me all the time about my being a druggie/pothead, an assumption he made because I had long/shaggy hair, was an artist, played music, was all alternative looking, ect. After awhile it got kind of old, especially when I realized there was some seriousness in his statements, I tried to explain how I wasnt what he thought, and he refused to listen. So I said something like "Well, since you are making assumptions about me, I guess its okay for me to assume you're going to go home to your shack, eat watermelon and fried chicken on the back porch, before a long night of selling crack on the corner, waiting to see if the crew from COPS will show up? You know, after all, you are black and listen to rap music."... Well, he didnt see the point I was trying to make, and guess who called into the office and got into trouble? Little old me of course, and I had to spend the rest of the year getting stared down by the dude and all his buddies.

I'm beginning to think that all of the women in this house are basically just a bunch of hypocrites. The young one, Rachel, doesn't really seem to be hypocritical but time will tell I suppose. All the girls in this house seemed to be really messed up though.

I never got the impression that Malik was just an afrocentric guy. He seems like a guy who loves his african heritage and wants to spread his knowledge and his love of it around. That doesn't really make him afrocentric in my eyes. I tend to think that Nicole was building him into something that he's not. It's like she was trying to mold him into her boyfriend.

Does anyone get the impression that Lori will be headed for a big big letdown when people start to tell her that she probably won't be able to get into the music industry as a singer? I suppose it'll be a bigger letdown when they tell her that she can't really sing period.

It'd be totally funny if Mike wound up with a gig with Arista after the show wrapped.

Re: Lori - well, that's the Real World for ya!

I also got that feeling that Nicole was seriously hurt by Malik not living up to HER expectations of what she thought he should represent. Nicole is not willing to accept people for who they are, rather she's rather build them up in her mind and when they fail her on that level, she gets disappointed and tries to sever ties with them. She's young and indignant, and stupid.
