Don't forget also for those who can't handle content beyond 10 minutes.

re: Quibi Streaming service - RIP 4/6/20 - 12/1/20

When this was launched, I had just assumed that a season of a show would contain a season's worth of content, just stretched out over 30-40 tiny episodes.
Turns out it's like a streaming service's episode count of 10-12 episodes a season, but each only 6-10 minutes long. So you end up with TV "seasons" that run in total as long as a movie or a couple of normal episodes. Really ends up being a paltry amount of content (or at best a streaming-quality movie broken up into 10 or 12 parts).

Thats the way I see it too. Really the uniqueness they are trying to push isn’t all that groundbreaking. Each season show is really just a movie broken in to chapters. I already watch things like this on Netflix and Prime. I have 15 minutes over lunch? Start watching a movie, 15 minutes in I hit stop, take 20 minute ride home from work, hit play and it resumes where I left off. I think I watched Irishman over a 5 day period this way. Unless it’s original programming becomes must see I don’t think this service makes it.

Ha, and Disney+ is citing the opposite. Coronavirus is giving them a massive bump. Estimated subs by 2025 was supposed to be around 126 mil. Now their estimate is 202 million.

I imagine all these confused 60-something execs at Quibi and Apple TV+ wondering where they went wrong. "But we got Paul Junger Witt! What, the kids aren't into that?"

Yes, I know Paul Junger Witt is dead. Someone tell Quibi and Apple...

Just wanted to bump this. Watched a couple more episodes. It's really a nice little travel show. Very sweet with little old Italian ladies who have spent their lives making very unique pastas. It is absolutely worth a watch.

Hey at least Apple TV+ works on a TV and they have a show that was nominated for 3 Golden Globes.

To be fair... Golden Globes They wanted Aniston and Witherspoon to show up to their party, I'm sure.

I know, weird right? Maybe he was just busy, or maybe he felt so burned by the post-Sterling trade of him to Detroit that he didn't want to contribute to this, which I am certain is going to make Doc Rivers and Steve Ballmer out to be heroes.

The iOS version had an update yesterday. Now you can cast the content from your device to your Apple TV (if you have one)

I streamed it from my iPad to my Apple TV 4K and it worked pretty well. Had a few minor hiccups getting started, but it worked.

They have some some shows I’m interested in. I wonder if they will add the ability for chrome casting? If so, I might give the free trial a go.

So a guy who on Instagram, photoshopped himself into a bunch of photos of the Jenners got himself a show based off of those photos.

I deleted the app and free trial the other day. I just don't see this picking up steam and the concept got stale for me personally.

I downloaded it the other day so I can binge Reno 911. Once that’s done, I’m deleting the app.

They paid Reese Witherspoon 6 million dollars to read for a couple hours? 😂 Brilliant!

Sucks in that article to read that people working for Quibi are already facing layoffs.

https://deadline.com/2020/06/quibi-d...ut-1202950330/

So Deadline says Quibi executives are taking 10% paycuts and are denying the layoff reports.

But, it's still not doing good. With the majority of it's subscribers on 90 day free trials, I can't imagine they are making any money.

I don’t have the service but I see no point now in getting vested in any of their shows. It’s not likely there will be a season 2 of any of them.

re: Quibi Streaming service - RIP 4/6/20 - 12/1/20

Maybe Comedy Central can move the Reno 911! episodes to their own service Comedy Central Now.

It is $4 a month but CC gets more money and the new three episode “season” is with the previous ones.

It is a shame that some will never be completed like 50 States of Fright.

I used the Chromecast version on my phone to my Nvidia Shield last night and it actually worked really well. I think it was smoother than the Apple Air Play version.
