re: Quibi Streaming service - RIP 4/6/20 - 12/1/20

I am looking forward to some type of Netflix or Hulu documentary about Quibi’s failure. Someone will definitely make it.

Sort of like the Fyre Festival documentary.

They should make a Blu-Ray disc of all of Quibi’s shows. I’d buy it for posterity.

Or possibly "Good fucking riddance to an incredibly stupid, and doomed to fail, idea."

Quibi doesn't actually own any of their shows. Ownership stayed with the studios, who could resell them re-edited as a full movie or regular length show after 2 years. Unless there's some sort of clause for Quibi going under in the contracts, or someone buys Quibi at bargain basement prices, expect to see most of this content show up on other streaming services and home video in 2 years.

I so want books/docs about this and MoviePass.

Here's the first announcement of one of Quibi's shows being moved, though it sounds like they hadn't started production on it yet: Lil Yachty dramedy series 'Public Figures' moves from Quibi to HBO Max for development

If whoever makes it has a sense of humor, they would make it viewable only on cell phones at least the first day or so it's out. But then have it shown in IMAX theaters.

It lives! Kind of. Roku is attempting to acquire the content.

I would be in favor of that. They could put it on their already free ad supported Roku channel.

The stuff that I sampled isn't bad. The Fugitive was good and I also liked The Most Dangerous Game.

I’d watch Reno 911, which I kept meaning to sign up for a free preview to binge.

It’s going on the Roku Channel, free with ads. Wonder if the vertical versions will still be available?

I hope so. For Reno 911!, I hope the segments that offer different camera angles swap or include them in some way.
