I don't have an iPad.

May still snag that 90-day trial and then cancel, but I fucking hate watching content on my phone.
Likewise, which is why I'm saying no, even with a trial. But if these are strictly for mobile devices only, what's the quality of these shows? Did they film them in 4K and have a nice production look? If so, that makes it even more bizarre since you really can't get the full production feel on a dumb ass small screen.

The content is in HD

With the app disabling screen mirroring and having a rotating screen with longer images of the actors based on how you position your device, my guess is the Quibi content will be next to impossible to pirate.

There isn’t even an iPad app, just an iPhone version that you can kind of enlarge.

This is so hilarious. They're intentionally making it the most user-unfriendly experience possible.

Maybe it's like The Producers. They're hoping it flops so they can keep all the investment money.

As I said, if you hate watching video content on your mobile device, you're probably not going to like this.

Well the twice-a-day 10 minute NBC News is something that I could get used to. And like I said Flipped is a promising comedy pilot split into three episodes. I am going to keep watching for now, as I do think it might offer more than Apple TV + which did absolutely nothing for me.

re: Quibi Streaming service - RIP 4/6/20 - 12/1/20

Jeffrey Katzenberger was just on my news saying they decided to roll out now bc people need quick fixes. Then they had someone from The Hollywood Reporter said this app is mainly for people in the world who have 5-10 minutes to kill, but that no one was in the world right now. That’s why Katzenberger gave 3 months now bc many won’t get around to using bc truthfully why watch phone at home when you have your TVs? I sure don’t.

Worst cross-promotion ever : They had a Charmin commercial before an episode where one of those cartoon bears was in the bathroom and when asked by the baby bear how long he was gonna be in there, he replies "One Quibi longer. No, better make it two!"

Even if you COULD buy toilet paper in the store, that would be a terrible idea for an ad series.

After two quibis in there, you also have to waste precious lysol wipes to wipe down the phone.

Apple TV+ has yet to impress me. On top off that, Apple's implementation of Dolby Vision is incompatible with my TV's DV (after my TV got an update). So I can't enjoy Apple TV+ or iTunes purchases in DV. Quibi is also failing to impress but I want to see new Reno 911 content along with Punk'd before calling it quits. I mainly watch Quibi while my niece and nephews are playing Minecraft on my Xbox One.

The main thing I want to see on Quibi is The Fugitive, but that hasn't launched yet. It's suppose to launch this month.

I guess I’ll try the 90 day thing but I really want to hate this and for it to fail.
Im clearly not the market for this as I have no interest in watching tv and movies on my iPhone.
why do they want this to be so limited, no iPad or tablet app?

re: Quibi Streaming service - RIP 4/6/20 - 12/1/20

I try to take a 1/2 mile walk every night and on my walk I've been checking out the BBC World News headlines as well as the ESPN headlines.

I actually find both of those shows interesting to get some quick and concise news in under 10 minutes. However, on ESPN with no sports going on, they are limited in the topics they can talk about. Like today most of their show was just this date in sports history.

I watch stuff on my iPad more than my actual TV, but hate those iPhone apps that I have to enlarge. My desire for this service would now be less than zero, if negatives were possible in such rankings.

Quibi announced that the new Reno 911 will premiere May 4th.

The 90 day free trial is only available until April 20th. So you need to sign up now if you want to watch it then.

Another downside to the Quibi app : There can only be one user account, unlike Disney Plus or Netflix. With series that might run 50 episodes (I assume), two family member can't both watch the same series without getting hopelessly confused about which episode is next for them.

I am a fan of Travel Food shows. I found they have one called Shape of Pasta that I find kind of interesting (as a big pasta fan)

They’re fast tracking the ability to watch on TVs

re: Quibi Streaming service - RIP 4/6/20 - 12/1/20

So I've spent a good amount of time using this over the last week. Mainly I use it for my 1-2 mile walks every day.

I've checked out the ESPN updates, BBC World News, Most Dangerous Game, NBC News Updates and I just started 50 States of Fear.

Most Dangerous Game has been interesting.

I also have liked 50 States of Fear. The episodes run pretty close to 10 minutes each.

The updates run pretty close to 10 mins each.

The content is not bad. Just the price point sucks.

I was going to ask you if you thought it was worth the price once you have to start paying but I guess the last line answers that.

If I really wanted it bad enough, I would go with with the $5 plan with ads, It’s only one 30 second ad prior to playback.

Thanks for the heads up about the cut off. I just went to Quibi's site to sign up and it looks like they extended it. Now next to "Get 90 days of Quibi for free" it says "sign up by April 30". So I think I'll wait a little longer and let released content pile up. And if I misinterpreted the site, no big deal. Really, the only things I'm interested in are the return of Reno 911 and The Fugitive, and I have to wait for them to come out anyway.

Jeffrey Katzenberg was interviewed on the latest episode of The Business podcast, but there's not really any new info about the service, nor does he change his rosy outlook. (Not that he would, since he's trying to sell Quibi.) https://podbay.fm/podcast/73330606/e/1587371400

The Fugitive is delayed until July.
