I subscribe to about 8 services and none of them make it this impossible to unclutter. So bizarre...and the rep was completely nonchalant, like this is just the way it is.
Nope. that's the only way I know how to remove something. It's frustrating because sometimes it automatically starts playing another movie right when the credits of the movie you're watching starts. So it then appears on your continue watching.

Disney Plus is another that does not have a way to remove from continue watching. At least not that I know of.

Finally signed up for Peacock after having the wife nag me about not being able to see Law and Order SVU on HULU which we get for free. I can't believe I'm paying for SVU and SNL now. Fuck this Streaming age...

There's supposed to be a start from the beginning function with Disney+ but I've never seen it. I always let the end credits run completely out before exiting so I can start from beginning when replaying.

On Disney+ when a video is playing....if you hit pause, or bring up the Video Progress Bar, you then have Restart and Play just below it to click. At least that is how it is on thee Disney+ Roku app. Otherwise you have to do what you mention and let it play out and return to the menu where Restart is then an option.

Same with a Fire Stick.

Re: Peacock -- NBC Universal streaming service

Peacock currently has True Lies for streaming. But, I tried watching it last night and the transfer is trash and the aspect ratio is wrong. The picture looks squished. It's difficult to watch. The picture is almost DVD quality.

Sucks that this inferior copy of the movie continues to stream periodically from the various services.

The True Lies Laserdisc might be the best version of any disc format(better than dvd).

I thought the same thing. Or it's either an upscale form the HD versions. Just can't imagine they'd rescan that in 4K.

I have it in hi-def on D-VHS. Less than 100 movies were released on that format but that was one of them.

Re: Peacock -- NBC Universal streaming service

Columbo looks like real 4k to me. It's odd seeing something you grew up with on on broadcast TV looking so sharp & clear. I'm glad they are able to use the original film elements to do something like this with older TV programs.

Re: Peacock -- NBC Universal streaming service

I’m not sure how to even verify it’s 4K.
The peacock app doesn’t have an info option even on the Atv4K box app.
Pausing gets you a pop up advert.

Re: Peacock -- NBC Universal streaming service

I don't believe they are 4k at all. Hunter shows up like that and they're SD uploads from Filmrise, who also released the complete collection on DVD. This might just be a glitch on Peacock's end.

The good news is that they fixed the aspect ratio. The bad news is that it's SD windowboxed.

Let's get that 4K physical release already!

True Lies was on Hulu as recently as a month ago and looked good there (no window boxing). It's like it elusively shows up on services from time to time.

Re: Peacock -- NBC Universal streaming service

So, if someone doesn’t have a TV package, does Peacock have both MSNBC and the regular NBC on there to stream live through Peacock?

You will get your local NBC affiliate. No MSNBC. You will get the live streaming NBC News Now channel.

NBC kills the free tier for new users.

Not surprised. They never should have offered it in the 1st place. I read Peacock has lost billions since it was launched.

Well, now that Bob Iger has said he's open to selling off Hulu, perhaps Peacock and Hulu will merge into one service. Comcast owns 25 percent of Hulu (Disney owns the rest), so they'll probably be the ones buying if Disney does sell it. If Disney decides to keep it, Comcast is actually REQUIRED to sell their percentage to Disney (at an agreed-upon fair market value).

Getting Peacock Premium for free because you're an Xfiniti subscriber? Not after June, you ain't. https://variety.com/2023/digital/new...ss-1235520530/

That's the boat that I'm in. Surprisingly, Peacock is among my most used streaming services. I will probably keep it after the cut off date, especially since my girlfriend said she'd go in halfsies for it.

Yeah, this sucks. Will I actually pay now to watch Love Island this summer? I guess I will pay for The Traitors season 2 when it arrives. It was nice to have for some of the recent movies in theaters they had.

Is HBO Max gonna do the same thing to cable HBO subscribers?

Re: Peacock -- NBC Universal streaming service

The old Chuck Norris series Walker, Texas Ranger was added to Peacock. However, it's only the 1st 5 seasons. The 1st season, which Cannon Films produced before they went bankrupt, is only 4 episodes.

Weird that this wouldn't have been added to Paramount + since CBS made the show.

Re: Peacock -- NBC Universal streaming service

Use code N2TEWDZZ for $30 off an annual subscription. Offer valid through July 8, 2023 or while supplies last.

Peacock Premium (ad-supported) annual for $20 instead of $50.
Peacock Premium Plus (no ads) annual for $70 instead of $100.

I think this only works on accounts that do not have a currently active plan (i.e. new or returning customers).

Also, if you have an AMEX card check your offers for $4.99 cash back, or Bank of America card offer for $3 cash back.
