Peacock now has 41M paid subscribers and they cut their losses to $215M from 639M. I assume it's mainly due to the cheaper ad supported tier that many signed up for.

"All-in-One" services will never happen again after Netflix controlled content for many years.

I never expected Hallmark content to stay on Peacock forever, especially when they had their own service. Although Hallmark's audience is probably really limited.

Re: Peacock -- NBC Universal streaming service

Peacock had a limited selection of Hallmark movies on demand but they did offer streaming to all three Hallmark channels. it was great way to access the channels without having to pay for cable especially during Countdown to Christmas.

I've never watched a Hallmark movie so I had no idea Peacock had their movies.

Doesn't seem to work for current subs, sadly. The 19.99 deal I got last year expires in a few weeks. Would have re-upped another year for 25 if I were able.

Use another email account? I am on the same promo plan that expires on 06/05/25. I am going to try doing that.

While I don't watch much on peacock, for that price for premium is totally worth it.

Edit: comments on the site say the code only works for the Premium, not Premium Plus. In that case I will let mine lapse and wait for another code. They seem to run it frequently.

Not worth that much trouble to us unless we can actually get the ad-free version for 25, which I'm skeptical about until someone confirms. Peacock is probably the platform that has the least we care about watching. At least we'll get to see most of the Poker Face season.

I assume it was a Black Friday deal? They usually do things so you can't get another promo back to back, which is why I have two emails in rotation.

Pretty sure it's only Hulu that has the 30-day cool-down restriction on back-to-back promos. So long as your Peacock subscription is not active, you should be able to sign up for the Black Friday deal.

It only works on the ad version.

Re: Peacock -- NBC Universal streaming service

Peacock has announced a price increase on both ad supported and no ads tiers. I have to assume that some of these costs are from the new massive NBA deal they signed, which starts in the Fall.

https://variety.com/2025/tv/news/pea...ntent=&utm_id=

Starting July 23, the price for Peacock Premium (which includes ads) will increase by $3 to $10.99/month and Premium Plus (which has limited ads in live programming) by $3 to $16.99 per month. Peacock’s annual price will be $109.99/year for Premium and $169.99/year for Premium Plus. The higher prices will be effective July 23 for new and returning customers, and on or Aug. 22 for current customers (depending on their next billing date).

Same. Gonna drop this until Ted comes back or I need it for something particular.

Only reason I keep it is for the WWE PLE's... but that deal currently expires in March next year. Hopefully they make a decision before my year renews in late October.

Re: Peacock -- NBC Universal streaming service

I have the 1 year BF promo that was $20 with ads. I do use it occasionally for some NBC shows and movies.

Hopefully they have another deal in November when BF comes. But, I totally understand that everyone is sick of price increases and it keep coming every few years it appears.

Same. There's no way I would pay full price for this. And I have zero interest in NBA.

Re: Peacock -- NBC Universal streaming service

Peacock is the streaming service pur family watches the least. Only if something is exclusive to it, otherwise we'd rather watch The Good Place commercial-free on Netflix.

As for the NBA, does the new deal do that blackout for local markets thing? Will I be able to watch the Timberwolves or not?

Re: Peacock -- NBC Universal streaming service

That's a 37.5% increase on the Premium (ad-tier) plan, on top of the 40% increase last year just before the Olympics. That's insane.

NBA on Peacock and NBC are all exclusive National games. No blackouts on national games.

I got an email for a Special Premium Plus "offer" - $89.99 / year.
Hard pass.

Although, I'm watching The Tour de France, and sometimes I'll pause it. I keep forgetting I can't skip commercials now.

Re: Peacock -- NBC Universal streaming service

I went to cancel a couple weeks ago and they offered me $1.99 a month for 6 months to stick around. It may be my last months with the service if they are jacking up the prices that much.

They're losing WWE and they just announced they'll be increasing their prices? Talk about poor timing.

Re: Peacock -- NBC Universal streaming service

I cancelled my annual plan yesterday as soon as the WWE news hit. I wasn't offered any deal... just automatically cancelled the account as of the renewal date in October.
