Re: Peacock -- NBC Universal streaming service

Days of our Lives is now on Peacock and they just did a Cinemax style 3 way sex scene. Some old Days fans weren’t happy about it. Before you all get too excited, there’s no nudity, but it is a love making scene.

Re: Peacock -- NBC Universal streaming service

I'm deeply offended by YouTube videos where they just shoot their TV with a camera. But I may have to check out the show one of these days...

Re: Peacock -- NBC Universal streaming service

So back in August when someone posted the deal they had at the time, I went to check it out and unknowingly signed up for it. I had meant to see if there was any deal for the no-commercials option, but they don't give you any "Are you sure?" prompts before locking you into something and it signed me up for the deal they had. I had hit Cancel right away and thought that was it, but just saw I'm locked into a subscription 2 months later.

The good news is that it DID let me pay another $5 per month for no commercials, so that works out decently. My rule is simple- show all the commercials you like if it's free, but if I'm paying for it then I don't want to see any- whatever I pay should be enough to cover everything.

Re: Peacock -- NBC Universal streaming service

Can ANYONE explain how to remove titles from "Continued Watching" on Peacock?

I've tried on tablet, computer and phone. Googled it. Checked YouTube. Nada.

I have not found a way either. Best I've been able to do is skip ahead to the end and let the last minute or so play. That only works if there isn't another episode or title in the series otherwise the next one just pops up.

Frustrating!

Re: Peacock -- NBC Universal streaming service

I like this deal. I do have a soft spot for Hallmark movies, but I don’t want to pay for Hallmark Now. At least during the holidays I can watch some Holiday VOD content on Peacock.

I subscribed to Hallmark Now in the past, but they only had stuff that wasn't airing on the cable channels. So it was mostly older unpopular content. None of the current holiday movies.

Oh shit, so it's stackable?

EDIT - Must be a limited use code. It told me the code had already been used.

I pay monthly, so this just set premium tier to $12 for 6 months.

Re: Peacock -- NBC Universal streaming service

The Hallmark Hub was added a few days ago. There's about 90 movies available on demand. Mostly older stuff from 2010 - 2020. Some good titles, but I was hoping for a bigger selection.

They also have the 3 Hallmark channels streaming live. These are the same channels airing on cable.

This year's new movies will be available the day after they air. But they'll only be available for 3 days. Here's info from the FAQ:

New Hallmark original series and film releases can be watched live on the channel as they air on the East Coast and will be available the next day to stream on-demand. New original film releases will only be available to stream on-demand for 72 hours.

Re: Peacock -- NBC Universal streaming service

I received one of those codes for using Fandango recently. I also couldn't add it since we have an annual subscription (for the $19.99 for 1 year deal). And our subscription is set to annual renewal. I wonder if I change to renew monthly if I can apply this code for an additional 6 months.

Yup, true! Also, Pluto TV has our local affiliate news station as does Roku channel.

Not missing cutting the Dish Network cord all those years ago....

Re: Peacock -- NBC Universal streaming service

The feed for the local CBS station looked pretty bad when they started, but last time I checked it (during the local news) the picture actually looked BETTER than over the air. A football game was on Peacock and over the air at the same time also and that looked better on Peacock, less compression artifacts. The audio online was only 2-channel though.

Re: Peacock -- NBC Universal streaming service

Serious question here, folks:

Has ANYONE been able to figure out to effectively remove titles from "continue watching"? I text chatted with a Peacock rep yesterday who flat out said the only way is to let show/movie play out until the end credits are completed. REALLY?!? I subscribe to about 8 services and none of them make it this impossible to unclutter. So bizarre...and the rep was completely nonchalant, like this is just the way it is.
