The only "deals" really are the yearly subscriptions where you save a few dollars vs. month to month.

I did the 19.99 deal and a few minutes of ads played before a movie. Not ideal but not terrible either.

$20 per year isn’t bad. I mostly use Peacock for select WWE events. I would prefer ad free though.

There are ways to block this.

I re-upped with the $19.99 deal again. Too good to pass up. I like to rewatch some of their old shows like Parks & Rec, and some new shows like The ARK. And they have the occasional big movie that's new-to-streaming like Twisters recently. I'm definitely getting my money's worth, and the ads don't usually bother me.

It's three hour long episodes and I'm watching the first one right now. Founder Joe Francis lives in Mexico and has been a fugitive on the run for more than a decade.

That’s going on my watch list. Haven’t heard of Girls Gone Wild in a long time,
I remember MGM was going to release an R-rated Girls Gone Wild movie but guess that fell through.
Have a handful of their DVDs, remember in 2001 ordering a few cheap ones then getting “subscribed” to more at higher prices. I just kept the extra ones and cancelled but other customers sued them for that.

I think I may have watched one Girl Gone Wild dvd at the peak of its popularity and thought it was stupid. You can see how it could go wrong with filming these girls verifying their ages and questionable consent while being drunk.

Who needed GGW when there's live streaming going on now?

Re: Peacock -- NBC Universal streaming service
Well that didn't exist in the early 2000s when GGW was popular. I finished the documentary and it was an interesting watch. A "Rise and Fall" kind of story of Joe Francis. The thing I couldn't believe after all the failed indictments it was the lawsuit by casino mogul Steve Wynn that brought down the GGW empire.

Got an email from Peacock asking me to resubscribe with the full ad-free plan for $13.99 per month. They can do better.

You need to get in on their annual Black Friday sale. $20/year for the ad-tier, and then you can upgrade your account level to "Plus" (ad-free) for an additional $6/month. That makes it an effective $7.67/month for ad-free service. (Or use an ad-blocker on the ad-tier; Peacock is the easiest streamer to block ads for.)

Get 1 year of Peacock for $29.99
Excludes current Peacock Premium and Premium Plus subscribers. Current retail rate applies after offer ends (currently $79.99/year). Offer Terms.
And as mentioned, you can upgrade and downgrade ad-free as you wish for $6/mo. I only upgrade if I'm watching a lot of TV. If it's mostly movies, their ads seem to be front loaded before the movie.

Re: Peacock -- NBC Universal streaming service
FYI, for people using pihole or other DNS-based ad blockers to block ads on Peacock, apparently Peacock has been rolling out client updates (to Roku and Fire TV, at least) over the past few weeks that have a new ad origin. More details here:
https://gist.github.com/ozankiratli/...5a64f8#peacock
Blocking this new "mediatailor" host makes the ads go away again.

You can now remove titles from Continue Watching. But, appears you have to do it from the mobile app. I don't see it on Apple TV app.
Hit the 3 dots in the upper right corner of the show icon under Continue Watching to get the menu.

Re: Peacock -- NBC Universal streaming service
Nope, can’t do that anymore. Peacock removed the monthly no-ads add-on. Now you must buy a full year of no ads, with a credit for your remaining subscription time. If you want to have no ads for the last 2 months of your annual Premium subscription you’re forced to extend your subscription for 10 months.

I liked Hallmark being on Peacock but i see why they are ending the partnership now having Hallmark Plus. I might have to try signing up for Hallmark plus around November and December for the Christmas movies.

I am at the point where I am almost rooting for all these different streaming channels to fail. I truly wish we could have something like Spotify for movies & TV and you can just choose the platform you want to use to stream anything.
