Re: The Amazon Prime Streaming Thread

I think I know the reason why. Both of those shows don't actually belong to Starz.

American Gods is owned by Fremantle and Counterpart is owned by MRC.

I still see American Gods on the Starz app and website, but Counterpart is not there anymore.

I bet the streaming rights for those back seasons have lapsed.

Re: The Amazon Prime Streaming Thread

Not sure if this is why American Gods is being pulled, but I've seen it mentioned other places, the Starz "channel" on Amazon does not include everything that is available on Starz. Stupid. I got in on the .99/month deal too, and won't be buying any other channels via Amazon. You can't log into the Starz app with a subscription through Amazon either.

That's a mighty fast lapse of rights to Counterpart if so, you'd think they'd have gotten more than a year or so of streaming rights.

This seems really really dumb. I did think the Starz content was pretty sparse but I didn't expect it to be missing stuff. I also scratched my head at the live feeds they have of the channels, why would someone want to watch whatever happens to be on the channel if everything is archived, but I guess everything isn't archived.

Oh well, I have like 8 days to get through 8 more episodes.

Counterpart was cancelled almost almost a year ago.

As I said, the show was produced by an outside studio and it's been cancelled. Zero incentive for Starz to keep it. Why keep paying MRC to keep it on your app when it's not airing anymore?

Re: The Amazon Prime Streaming Thread

I'm having an issue with CBS All Access via PrimeVideo channels.

So there is a Star Trek: Picard after show called The Ready Room and it does not appear to be available when watching All Access though Prime. If you go to CBS.com or I'm guessing on the All Access app there is a section called "clips" where the show resides. But I do not see any way to get to it though the Prime Roku app nor though Prime on a web browser.

Am I missing something or is CBS ALL Access a limited version though PrimeVideo?

I mentioned a similar thing with Starz channel via Amazon Prime, but apparently some (if not all) Amazon "channels" don't have all content.

https://www.cbs.com/shows/star-trek-...r-trek-picard/

According to this you can also watch it here:
How can I watch or stream "The Ready Room" online?
You can watch "The Ready Room" for free on Facebook (@StarTrekCBS), IGTV (@StarTrekCBS), and YouTube (CBS All Access)

I assume its free.

It seems like it might not be available on Prime. This was an issue with the last season of Discovery and The Ready Room for that as well:
https://www.reddit.com/r/StarTrekDis...bs_all_access/

It is freely available on Facebook and Youtube though:

Based on this article, all future episodes will be up for free on Facebook and Youtube as well:

Thank you Jay G. and IDrinkMolson
That is very disturbing and maybe a reason NOT to use Amazon channels.

Re: The Amazon Prime Streaming Thread

Maybe this is just a glitch, but when I go to watch American Gods (I have like three episodes left) the only option is to buy them. My STARZ subscription is still in play and I can watch other things in STARZ. The expiration date was 1/31 for this content so it's not that either.

I don't have STARZ, but looking through the Prime listings, all the other STARZ shows give a "Start a free trial with STARZ to watch" option, which is conspicuously missing from the American Gods seasons. So it looks like that, on Prime at lease, the show got removed early.

Re: The Amazon Prime Streaming Thread

Well that sucks. I started speeding up my consumption of the show because of the 1/31 deadline, and I guess I'm just going to not finish the show. I don't even see a way to complain to amazon other than the feedback link.

Re: The Amazon Prime Streaming Thread

FYI I got a very nice email from CBS All Access and you CAN link you Amazon account to use the CBS app. So not sure if there is something similar you can do for STARZ...

https://www.cbs.com/amazon/

1. Login with your Amazon account.
2. When prompted that the CBS App would like access to your Prime Video subscriptions, click Allow.
3. Create a CBS account by filling out the information requested, you will set up your login (email) and password on this page. Or, click Sign In at the top right of your screen to link your subscription to an existing account. Select Continue/Sign In once finished.

Re: The Amazon Prime Streaming Thread

Too bad it can't go the other way to connect the CBS All Access subscription to your Amazon account. The biggest reason for that would be to have the best picture and sound which the Amazon app provides and often the CBS all does not.

Now hearing that we can take the add on for Amazon and link to CBS is good as Amazon often is missing the extras offered on the CBS app itself.

Re: The Amazon Prime Streaming Thread

Actually, yesterday I checked and American Gods is back for streaming on Starz via Amazon Prime. No explanation given whatsoever. So I'm watching the final three episodes then cancelling the next month and never subscribing through them again. Ridiculous.

Re: The Amazon Prime Streaming Thread

Amazon's Video website now has a section called Free To Me. It lists all the content that's on Prime, your channel subscriptions, and the stuff you own. So you don't have to browse through a bunch of stuff that needs to be bought/rented.

This is pretty cool. I hope they add it to the Roku app.

I think the Fire TV also added a section called something like available with Prime.

I just clicked on this Free To Me section on the web and right in the middle there's a "Rent or Buy Prime Member Deals - $1.99 and up" and a "REnt or Buy Popular Movies" and "Rent or Buy Academy Awards movies" so I don't really know what the difference is.

Actually, every other category when you scroll down is "Rent or Buy" something or other.

Just give me a search option that only shows stuff that's free, please please please.

Yeah, their interface and filters are still crap. There's a ton of stuff under my movies and TV shows that I've never watched or added and are not part of Prime.

Even though it says "Rent or Buy....", that page is only listing movies that I own or are free with Prime. I think those categories are just mislabeled and haven't been fixed yet. However, if you click on See More, it'll take you to another page that includes movies/shows to purchase/rent. It seems to be a work in progress, but it's a step in the right direction.

I agree that their interface is horrible. I'm happy to see them putting a little effort into making it more user-friendly. But they have a long way to go.
