Re: Netflix - News & Discussion
While I do plan to shut this off I hope we can still see a trailer for titles in some way. Otherwise it will be back and forth to YouTube for trailers when checking out if we want to watch something.

It only took them how many years of complaints to fix that? I'd likely still keep that on if I had that, but the end credits shrinking is still a dealbreaker. Maybe they'll actually do something about that in a few more years (the creator of Bojack Horseman recently called them out for that, and Netflix responded by taking a big dump on the ending of the series finale as I saw on YouTube.)

Otherwise, just click on the down arrow and also choose "Trailers & More."

Re: Netflix - News & Discussion
So I changed the setting. Tested on our Roku 3. Still have trailers running while browsing. And also checked and only Netflix originals have trailers available via clicking the title (of all the titles we checked)

I kinda hate the interface without autoplay trailers. It looks cheap.

The site also says the change won't be immediate. Likely for the reasons mentioned above.

I changed mine and it was immediate on my Roku Streaming Stick+

It was pretty much immediate for me as well.

My browser change was immediate. FireStick 4K, I don't know, as I didn't check it until b2net posted about problems, so that was hours later.

Re: Netflix - News & Discussion
We normally power down our Roku when not in use (conserve energy). I checked for software updates and their were none. So unsure if there will be a channel update when we boot next time.
I wondered how the interface would look. Bummer it will be worse.
I hope we can still manually watch trailers for non Netflix original content.

Re: Netflix - News & Discussion
I had to restart my Roku Ultra to effect the change, after adjusting the setting on the Netflix website.
I didn't notice any change in the way the Netflix interface looked after I disabled the autoplay, other than the obvious--still images instead of trailers. Was something else different? I don't think it looks cheap, and I am SO GLAD they finally gave us the ability to disable the trailers as I found them really annoying.

Naw, but I also never found the trailers annoying. It looks how you'd expect static Netflix to look, that's a pro for most people on here.
To me it just kind of looks like dead space.

Re: Netflix - News & Discussion
It was 2 reboots for it to take effect. The static interface seems fine to me.
Considering they have the trailers for the non Netflix originals to auto play then it would be nice to be able to manually play them.

Cheap? It's the exact same interface! Only now you won't get annoying teasers and major spoilers.

Re: Netflix - News & Discussion
I don't have a Roku, so I can't test that, but can you give me a show/movie to demonstrate this? I'm curious if it's also the case when using a browser, or FireStick 4k.

Re: Netflix - News & Discussion
Basically any non Netflix original show. There is no trailers and more. For example, Parks and Rec or Grand Daddy Day Care.

Re: Netflix - News & Discussion
When they were first implemented, I didn't really like the auto-play trailers. There was an abundance of stuff that I already knew what the premise was, and the trailers were kind of obnoxious. Now that I'm not really sure what most things are about, I like the trailers. Interesting how I've come around to them over the years.

Re: Netflix - News & Discussion

I do, however, see what you mean. Switching back to to autoplay, I can see how most shows play a small trailer, with no way to play that trailer, manually.

Re: Netflix - News & Discussion
Now to communicate to Netflix that we like trailers when we can control how and when they launch. Something with minimal clicks just not zero clicks (auto play).

Re: Netflix - News & Discussion
Does Netflix have an option of showing closing credits complete without the viewer needing to do it all the time individually when he wants this done?
