| List Thread |
Rules
This Challenge overlaps with two well-established Challenges - October's Horror Challenge and the November-December Holiday Challenge. During the overlapping days, you can receive "double credit" by listing any qualifying items watched for those other two Challenges on your Comedy Challenge list.
It should be self-evident what titles qualify, but if you have questions about something you've never seen, check out its genre classification on IMDB, Allmovie, or metacritic, or ask about it in the discussion thread. Live events (stand-up acts, plays, TV show tapings, etc.) and audio performances (comedy albums, old-time radio shows) can also be listed.
Post your list in the list thread. Be as creative or as basic with your list as you want.
You may number (or not number) the items on your list any way you like. However, the preferred method is, as with the Holiday Challenge, any title watched, no matter how long or how short, counts as one list item. This should make it easier to record qualifying items on both lists if you participate in both Challenges.

That photo in the OP may be the kick in the pants I need to check out Abbott Elementary. I've heard good stuff about it.

Looking forward to this. Particularly since when my next GI Bill disbursement comes in I'm planning to buy the Complete Three Stooges set.

Think I'll give The Saragossa Manuscript (1965) a re-watch for the Challenge. Watched it for the first time a few years ago for the SF/F Challenge and I think it's time to take another dip into its heady waters.

I know the films aren’t great, but since the Horror Challenge started with the bonus Friday the 13th day, I’m going to end it with the Saturday the 14th films. Should finish them right about dawn, and then hopefully sleep for 24 hours.

I had no idea there was a sequel to Saturday the 14th until I read this....

You’re not missing much, they’re both largely without merit. I’ve watched them back to back maybe three times over the years for that cross-Challenge double credit, and hope I resist the temptation to do so again. Their only strengths are the cool titles/concept, double creditness, and very short running times.

I did a random pull tonight and ended up with The Pink Panther (1963). By the time the movie ended I decided that I would watch the "rest" of the Pink Panther movies, through Revenge of The Pink Panther (1978). It's been a long while since I've seen any of them. I'll also watch either a Pink Panther or The Inspector short before each feature. Tonight, now that I think about it, I'll watch a short (Le Pig-Al Patrol (1967))after I submit this.

Took a break from Pink Panther movies tonight because my The Return of the Pink Panther (1975) disc is deplorable. I looked at it and saw it was authored in 1999. Zoinks! So I went ahead and "upgraded" to a somewhat more recent version that should be an improvement. It'd be nice if the classic Panther movies would be released on blu, but maybe they're too old.
I watched the drolly subversive Czech Western Lemonade Joe (1964) tonight as a substitute. Tomorrow I hope to be back on track.

I always remember how Return was not MGM so it wasn't included in DVD collections, but I think now it is for whatever corporate-ownership reason. Anyway, I bought most of them digitally except for the later ones with the Sellers clips and other actors. I think Return was the first one I saw in theaters, and then I saw a few more. I have a soft spot for Return but believe Shot in the Dark is considered the objective best.
I watched Freaky Friday on Disney+. No, not that one, or that one, but a 2018 Disney Channel movie based on the stage musical. I have a real fondness for the Lohan-Curtis remake, but this one was just ok, and the songs weren't that great.

It has these 6 films included:
1. The Pink Panther
2. A Shot in the Dark
3. The Return of the Pink Panther
4. The Pink Panther Strikes Again
5. Revenge of the Pink Panther
6. Trail of the Pink Panther
It's now OOP and commands high prices. If you can find one at a price you're comfortable with I can highly recommend the set (I'm a huge fan and purchased one shortly after its release).
Your post about watching the series has prompted me to get my BR set out for a viewing (I also have a copy of the "Puffy Case" DVD collection - nice but missing "Return," which I have on a separate DVD - the 2006 release).

While retrieving that Pink Panther BR set I saw I had stored next to it the 1968 film Inspector Clouseau starring Alan Arkin in the title role (It was released on BR by Kino and is also OOP). While not as good as most of the Pink Panther films with Sellers, it's vastly superior to Curse of the Pink Panther (1983) and Son of the Pink Panther (1993) as well as being at least equal to (IMHO slightly better than) Trail of the Pink Panther (1982), the films made after Sellers' death.

Would Jake Paul Vs. Mike Tyson count as comedy?

I realized I could’ve used Wicked as this month’s hero image, but it’ll probably be more accessible for viewing during the February musicals challenge.

School has kept me extremely busy this month so have not had a lot of watch time. I did manage to hit 25 yesterday morning during a day that I took off.

My church does an annual month of sermons based on movies. Today, it was Coda. We watched it at home this afternoon, still a great film, and happy to see it has the comedy genre tag.

Coda is one of the reasons I considered keeping AppleTV after the price hike, but I can always resubscribe.
I watched Lonely Planet on Netflix, a May-September(?) romance starring Laura Dern and Liam Hemsworth. Pretty standard romcom stuff.

I had Max as part of my very limited internet-centric cable package for years, but cut it down to Internet only several months ago. Somehow, the Max is persisting, but I keep thinking it’ll disappear any day now. So decided to take advantage of it and binged almost all of Curb Your Enthusiasm this month. Loved how the ending mirrored Seinfeld’s.
Also have been binging a couple AppleTV shows while I’m on a trial there. Probably the most TV I’ve watched outside of October in years.

Watched Hundreds of Beavers (2022), yesterday. Hilarious. It's like a looney tune mashed-up with Jeremiah Johnson (1972) and Etsy. Wile E. Coyote is very much our hero's spirit animal. It's available on Prime (subscription) and YouTube (with ads).
