Seriously, when I thought about how she was doing SNL to promote the release of Marvel's Madame Web, my reaction was a worn out "they are still making these movies?"

Which probably means an appearance by Jimmy Fallon.

JT was on Fallon earlier this week promoting his new album "Everything I Thought It Was" and announced his "The Forget Tomorrow" World Tour which is coming to San Antonio on May 29th. Tempted to go. I'm a JT fan.

I'm not sure Jimmy will be on the show, but I know that one of the songs that JT will sing will be his new single "Selfish."

The Please Don’t Destroy videos have been hit or miss this season, but I thought this one was good.

Good as always.

They really phoned it in tonight, didn't they?

Has it gotten to the point where Justin Timberlake is better at acting than for his music?

Loved his first 2 CDs but this new stuff is doing nothing for me. He should probably stay with dance music.

It was not a bad show though WU was not as strong this week and the Bowen Yang Eaton character was weak and did not care for Shark Tank sketch and the Big Cup sketch though Dakota was smoking hot in that sketch.

Dakota looked like Liza Minelli in the opening monologue and was it the lighting and makeup? I was afraid she got plastic surgery.

The Jerry Springer digital short and the cold open with the NFL on CBS were the best.

The live sketches didn't do much for me.
Maybe because of the order I watched them on YouTube, the Waitress and the Lost Luggage sketches seemed to end up at the same joke, where the employee is incompetent and then the boss is the same. Although I will observe that Sarah Sherman looked good as a blonde playing the waitress.

The PDD video and the Maury Povich spoof video were both very funny.

I loved Heidi's tarot card reader on WU but hated whatever Bowen was doing.

I honestly do not recall that the central joke of the Barry Gibb talk show was that Barry just got angry and yelled at the guests.

I just don't get the Barry Gibb Talk Show.

The Book Club/Shark Tank sketch totally looked like Lorne looked out into the audience after the show started, saw the Shark Tank people there, asked them if they wanted to appear in the sketch, and then had the writers come up with something on the fly. Actually, the whole show looked like it was written about 5PM on Saturday.

The only decent joke of the night was in the Please Don't Destroy bit, "The biggest audience reaction you'll get tonight is when you say 'Ladies and gentlemen, Justin Timberlake'".

I also liked "I'm so excited to meet the star of Madame Web, Can you introduce me to Sydney Sweeney?"

As much flack as the Shark Tank sketch is getting did want to call out that there were a few moments in it that I liked such as the inventor announcing that the group's power dynamic was about to change. Overall agree that it was a weak skit and show.

The Weekend Update writers don't know what de-banking is?

The funniest thing in this episode was Yang and Sherman standing awkwardly in the opposite corner from Dave Chappelle, trying to literally distance themselves from him.

I really liked the Home Videos pre-recorded bit. That was inspired.
The only other thing I really liked was the Tarot card reading duing WU. The Bowen Yang award thing was so painfully unfunny, it reminded me of a Middle-school campfire skit.

Dakota was wearing a see-through top during her monologue, which was weird and distracting, but nothing we haven't seen before, of course. I was a little bummed they didn't spend a little longer discussing the Social Network reunion. I had forgotten that - and just as she mentioned it, JT wandered into the monolog.

The Barry Gibb thing isn't funny at all. I wish they'd stop it.

Thank you I thought I was missing something. Other than it feeling so cringey from how awkwardly bad it is, I couldn't figure out one thing that was supposed to be so funny it would justify bringing back Jimmy Fallon. Both impressions are so horrible you wouldn't know it was even supposed to be Bee Gees and their singing and dancing offers no help.

Even though they gave her nothing to do in this episode except act like a bitch and be pretty I enjoyed Dakota. Its refreshing how much her attitude has grown from when she first started out just grateful to get an audience with 50 shades to who she is now where she comes across as just not giving a shit no matter what celebrity personality she is dealing with. We first saw this with how she had no problem putting Ellen DeGeneres in her place and now she has no problem calling out Trump. I guess she can get away with whatever she wants given her celebrity parents, film legend grandmother and being the gf of Chris Martin. I even liked the Nepo Baby Do Not Destroy thing altho I didn't realize the Do Not Destroy guys were nepo...

Che describing Oppenheimer as the prequel to Godzilla Minus One made me chuckle.

If they had to bring a Timberlake SNL bit back, I always got a chuckle out of the mascot sketches he's done a few times.

They should have had a sketch with JT and Chloe Fineman as Britney Spears.

I thought it's been that way for a while, with his prominent roles in movies that are more than just "pop star tries acting". Fincher isn't putting you in a movie if you can't handle it.

I don't follow the celebrity gossip crap, and I don't know what all the fuss between those two is, but Justin Timberlake comes across as too classy to do something like that (granted, there's no shortage of celebrities who are actually monsters off camera, so I have no scientific basis for that opinion). Fineman's Spears is funny, but she plays up the bimbo angle a little much and I think Timberlake realizes it's in his best interest to just stay away from any kind of parody of Britney. Fineman would have to do a full 180 on her impression, which would then make it not funny.

Here's the thing. I didn't know what de-banking was, but all it took was a google search to find out. I'm betting whoever wrote the joke did the same. But it's still a good joke. Why? because the people familiar with the term de-banking are the people (like Trump) who would be threatened by it, people engaged in corrupt financial practices. So the joke totally works for SNL viewers.

Of course the morons at Fox News don't understand the concept of lying to set up the premise of a joke.
